Use our rumours form to send us liverpool transfer rumours.

In terms of fixtures we couldn't have asked for an easier Christmas run, come on Reds it's got to click sooner or later.

Believable4 Unbelievable0

That is a total lack of respect for other teams. Burnley will be a very tough game and we will need to match there work rate, also Swansea are a very good side this season and Leicester fighting for there lives won't be easy. We will need to be at our best to win all three.

Agree5 Disagree2

This season there are no easy games for us, we will have to battle in every game, that is why its so important that we pick our strongest team, and not be carrying any passengers, so BR take note, and by the way, is he trying to save his job by actually doing his job that he is paid for .

Agree2 Disagree0

We are LFC. We should expect to win every game!

I was gutted when Torres put in a transfer request, particularly as Suarez had signed the same day, but I can't understand people wanting him back.

As far as I'm concerned, any player who pulls onthe Liverpool shirt who doesn't try has burnt their bridges. The same goes for Pepe unfortunately. Even though we've missed him I think he probably realises now where his bread was buttered. Players should know that, when they leave Liverpool, there is more chance of their career nosediving than taking off. We are not the best club in the world for nothing!

Heighway, sometimes we need to understand why players put in transfer requests . they may have had good reason.(like wanting to win medals and trophies)

Agree0 Disagree0

Roy, I think you are missing the point. I totally understood why he asked for a transfer, ie to win trophies and he was also given broken promises.

However, to pull on the shirt and not try is unforgivable. Most supporters thought he was playing with an injury until he pulled his finger out and scored 2 goals against Chelsea to impress them.

Can't argue with that mate , 100% agree

Thanks Roy. Happy New Year.

I noticed all the last games first team wears the green tops at training and the rest wear white.

I also noticed coutinho wasnt wearing a green top, and I picked out Suso in the back in a green top.
Here's to hoping he's fit and gets a chance.

A Christmas miracle, perhaps?

Believable9 Unbelievable1

25 Dec 2014 21:51:16
I was thinking the same thing when I saw those pictures, would be nice to see Suso again!

Agree6 Disagree0

It is not exclusively that way. BR does change it around sometimes; sometimes the orange bib defenders would be starting even though in training they appear to be playing against the first to forwars in green bib.

Agree1 Disagree0

Going by green bibs on wednesday's pictures the team will be;
LW, Sterling, Suso
Markovic, Gerrard, Lucas, Henderson
Sakho, Skrtel, Toure

Coutinho and Lallana were the only outfield players without bibs on wednesday, but in the Christmas day pictures Coutinho was in orange along with all those who were in green the day before, so he gets the LW spot. And i'm assuming Jones back in goal.

Let's see if this is so.

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Dec 2014 12:31:12
Rodgers has done some back-pedaling over players in the past (Henderson, Enrique, Downing, Skrtel, Lucas), but I'd be surprised if he gave Suso a run. And astonished if he dropped him into the starting XI more or less straight back from injury. Even more so with Coutinho and Lallana available.

Hey ed001

Just wondering if you like to read and if so would like to recommend any autobiographys (and anyone else) regarding LFC

I have read carra's, bellamys and now reading suarez's

Carra's and bellamys were good

Believable1 Unbelievable0

{Ed001's Note - I do love to read, but I have to say I am not a big fan of autobiographies as they are never truly autobiographies. How can you trust what is said when they lie about who wrote them? It is about time anything ghostwritten was not allowed to be called an autobiography! Sorry I will get off my soapbox now.

I have read hundreds of them, I would suggest avoiding Hamann's, though it is clearly not written by a professional! It just doesn't really have much to say other than him trying to justify his smoking while being a professional athlete. Plus it is dead short, I got it last Crimbo and had finished it before lunch.

Dalglish and Fowler's are the two I would recommend. I would also suggest the scouting diary of one man who was a major part responsible for the club's success - Geoff Twentyman. It is called something like 'The Secret Diary Of A Liverpool Scout' and is taken from the notes he kept while Liverpool's scout throughout our years of success. It is really interesting.}

25 Dec 2014 20:14:36
I thought Dalglish & Fowlers were a good read . If you are not too fussy Carra's is an easy read .I would avoid Gerrards though.

absolutly correct ed on the book name. pity rogers didn't read his book lol any way i read some of it haven't finnished it yet. he was an amazing scout.
geoff Twentyman was the model professional in every sense of the word.
Unhurried and unflappable on the pitch, hard working and dignified off
it, he became a widely respected and welcomed figure in football. His
presence at the back, on the pitch, was a steadying influence for both
players and fans. His talent spotting became almost legendary on
Merseyside, unearthing some of the game's real giants like Ian Rush,
Phil Neal and Alan Hansen and he is fondly remembered at both Anfield
and Brunton Park. Twentyman worked also under Paisley, Fagan and
Dalglish before leaving his post after 19 years
When it came to choosing a new chief scout “Shanks realised”, according
to Ivor Broadis, “that he needed someone he could trust to sign the
players that would make Liverpool great again, and Geoff’s character
suited that role perfectly”. Put in simple terms, Twentyman’s brief was
to find the best young players Liverpool could afford with the potential
to develop in the future. He was not expected to bring in
already-established stars from other clubs.
Over the years he became known as a man who had a phenomenal ability to
spot young talent in the lower leagues and make his move before scouts
from any other big club were sniffing around. Shankly & Twentyman
deliberately decided to focus on players who had what they called a
‘northern soul
Eleven years after the Reds had been hugely embarrassed at Worcester,
there was an equally high-profile F.A. cup exit, this time at the hands
of Second Division Watford. When the team played host to Derby County a
week later, Lawrence had been replaced by Ray Clemence, Yeats by Larry
Lloyd and St. John by Alec Lindsay. Three more Twentyman discoveries in
Heighway, Keegan and Toshack would soon arrive at Melwood to form the
nucleus of the side that would finally bring trophies back to the club
in the early part of the 1970’s.
The list of players goes on as the 1960’s turn into the 1970’s. Amongst
the men who did sign contracts with Liverpool as a result of Twentyman’s
involvement were John Toshack, Kevin Keegan, Terry McDermott, Joey
Jones, Phil Neal, Alan Hansen, Gary Gillespie and Alan Kennedy; those
who were looked at but ended up elsewhere included Trevor Francis, Andy
Gray and Martin Buchan. The men who wore the Liver bird proudly on their
chests all enthuse in a similar way about Geoff Twentyman;
Into the 1980’s came Ian Rush, Steve Nicol, Bruce Grobbelaar and Jim
Magilton and although the last of those would fail to break through into
the first-team at Anfield, that was the exception rather than the rule. the rest is history

I've just started Suarez then I've got Roy Keanes to go at.

I learned a number of things today which saddened me.

1) - Father Christmas doesn't exist.

2) - The Queen only PRETENDS to be sincere during her festive speech.

3) - My lad got too many presents.

4) - It's going to take me many more sparring sessions to burn off the rubbish I've eaten already than what I had originally planned.

5) - Torres has been linked with Liverpool again.

Merry Christmas everyone and apologies to everyone who I've unintentionally offended (if any).

Remember one thing, give that family member a ring or that neighbour a knock.

It'll make your day!

Take care.

That's a big old can of worms bro. What I found more disgusting was people disagreeing with posts wishing Tel a speedy recovery yesterday. Some people have no morals. If you dare to say the word trolling though you'll have people telling you to "climb out mate".

Have a great Xmas all eds and all supporters whoever you love. I am a hereford born Liverpool fan. Just a note to say how sad this week was. Surely a couple of well paid player could have found the poultry 200k to dig hereford out of trouble? A giant killing club where 'here we go here we go. Etc' was I first ever sung, one of the widest grounds in football history and the club who has knocked more clubs in higher leagues from the fa cup than any other.

It's bloody sad.
