Eds do you think jelle vossen is a possible target? I really rate him. He scores nearly every game. I've actually won a fair few quid betting on him first goal. I really rate him, I think if we don't sign him another top side will within the next 2 years. Thoughts?
{Ed002's Note - Not for Liverpool.}

Who agrees if we lose aganist the big teams away or draw and take 3 points against them at home ie Everton, man u, Chelsea, spurs, arsenal, man city . then it comes down to the lesser teams that will decide the top four.
So even if we lose the next 3 away then we shouldn't start to panic because at home we are top draw and from the middle of Jan we will have Sturridge and Stevie back and fully fit, plus a few additions. No European games to get in the way so a clear run to may and fingers crossed back in the big time!
Keep beleiving.
YNWA
Well said games like these can go either way really
I will be happy with 6 points from the next 4 games. A home win against Cardiff and hopefully 3 draws and the 3 away teams. Knowing Liverpool the will probably get beat by Cardiff and beat Spurs and Chelsea away. Just when you least expect it. Hears hoping for some good results.
12 Dec 2013 21:46:13
well the spuds just beat a team who are bottom of the Russian league, no need to panic about how amazing soldado will be. They are a poor side, and if they don't get any penalties then we should batter them
12 Dec 2013 21:21:29
Jordan Henderson has trained today and is fine for those that were worried .
Not worried. Would have liked to see Lucas, Allen and Coutinho play as it's been a long time since we played a midfield who all had some ability on the ball. Oh well. Maybe next time
13 Dec 2013 09:25:44
NZ Red. All 4 would Play. Countinho would play at LW with sterling/ Moses on Right and Lucas / Allen/ henderson in the middle.
In all honesty I think that we need that Henderson player who would work incredibly hard. Obviously it would be preferable if he could think quicker but he is still a starter in my opinion.
12 Dec 2013 20:21:56
good confidecne booster for spurs and soldado before the weekend tonight it seems
12 Dec 2013 20:09:37
Very strong looking spurs team considering they have already qualified. Think AVB got this wrong and hopefully it backfires for us.
Majority of those starting on sunday are not involved
Dembele, Rose, Capoule, Townsend, holtby, Soldado will all be involved
12 Dec 2013 17:25:59
Been watching U18's. Sinclair, Canus (kanos), kent, Ohanlon. so many youngsters that look awesome.
Canus (Kanus) looks a fantastic prospect. wish they could be given a seat on the bench. these players are ready to be uncovered to the world. come on, BR.
Honestly Eds, against ManU the kids looked fantastic. best I've seen for many many many years. fellow Reds future looks great . YNWA
They are nowhere near ready.
Only games make players. Not sure who is ready and who is not, but without games it won't happen. Imo
Teixeira, Yesil, McLaughlin and Smith deserve a seat on the bench more.
12 Dec 2013 14:45:41
good to see Suarez getting that goal awarded against westham
Really think suarez could break the 30 league goal mark this season even if this pruple patch fades slightly in the harder upcomign games against spurs etc
At the rate he's going no problem and I do fancy him to score at the weekend.
I hope so, did him eah way at 25/1 when they thought he was going to Madrid. Fingers crossed he stys until the end of the season now
12 Dec 2013 14:31:50
Chiriches rose eriksen all fit for Sunday! That's a blow, I was excited to see coutinho an Suarez destroy there depleted back line. Vertonghen Kaboul are out so it'll be
Walker Dawson chiriches rose
Lets see what happens tonight .look how we played without suarez at the end of last season.!
I know stevie and sturridge will be missed but we can score without them . Ynwa
Lets not worry about who will play for them. whoever plays for them, we need to be at our best. YNWA
We are more than capable of winning at Spurs.

I ain't getting what's the Problem in having Diame for a short term Loan in Jan. The lad is prooven in the League. and would jump to join us.
Now let's forget the ball control and pass ratio. We need some powerhouse in the middle, someone who can outmuscle couple in the Middle, diame is perfect. he would also add a cover for Lucas.
Diame isn't a top 4 footballer
With Aly Cissokho on loan from Valencia and with Victor Moses on loan from Chelsea this means Liverpool have got the maximum amount of loaned players any one team, even one as awesome as ours, can have.
So I doubt highly that Liverpool will look at bringing in anyone else on a loan, I might be wrong, but I think i'm right.
Isnt cissokho on a loan to buy option?
Why would west ham loan him
This is like the Blind sign langauging to the Blind! Please stop.
Ynwa
Diame is average at best.
Harry, did you really say forget ball control and passing? And you wonder why people don't take your posts seriously!
If we can forget ball control and passing and just want power, why not sign Barack Obama? Or is that not the sort of power you meant?!
Honestly.
It isn't rugby mate - ball control and passing are more important that power - take your best mate Suarez for example.
13 Dec 2013 08:12:26
Ball controll and Passing.
Whats henderson doing in our team from 2 years.
A player only for his energy and tempo?.
Common guys. don't be biased.
12 Dec 2013 11:33:02
Does anyone know much about the young lad Adam Phillips? Is he held in high regard at Liverpool? I know he's only 15 but plays most weeks for the U18 and captained England U16 the other day.
Well surely that says all you need to know? He looks comfortable in the u18s as you say at aged 15 one of the front two in the midfield triangle great free kick taker too
12 Dec 2013 09:33:37
Hai Ed. Great work.
I just read it in an article. Rooney top the list of Richest English footballer.
Ashley young and James Milner at No.5 Spot?. Can You Believe that?
{Ed039's Note - I can because I just had someone tell me that Ross Barkley is worth £70k per week, good wee player, but not £70k worth, Milner and Young are very average footballers being paid overinflated wages, the end product is just not there with those 2, although I would have Milner over Young any day of the week)
Milner is better than average, motm against bayern. would come straight into our Liverpool team.
{Ed039's Note - But do you get it often enough from him?)
I wouldn't pick milner to pick my nose he's a fat version of Henderson
Not often enough but its tough at city Look at how good barry is doing at Everton confidence is the key faith of the manager ect
He is much better than hendo on the ball
And people were angry when FSG refused to sanctíon Ashley Young
12 Dec 2013 13:15:01
Jesus. don't slate FSG. they never had a problem with Young or Downing. Young wanted to join UTD.
12 Dec 2013 13:19:05
Milner is a hardworking footballer, and could be used anywhere in the middle, A good squad player like Hendo. Milner has got pace and he does pretty good.
Milner not top class but often underrated especially on here
For whatever reason, many would seem to rather watch a player make 27 stepovers and give the ball away at the end rather than just play the game and make simple passes to retain possession. Players like Lucas, Henderson, Allen, and Milner are all very good but none are flashy enough for the modern 'I want to be entertained at all times' football fan.
I think if Milner was playing every week he would improve massively. 1 I expected a lot from when he broke through at Leeds. i'd take a chance on him as he can defend as well as attack which would help Glen out big time. Milner on the right IMO would give us better balance and allow the youngsters to progress without as much pressure as they would still get minutes but wouldn't be our only option. We brought Moses in for this but so far he hasn't taken his chances. Then again if Moses scores the winner against Spurs I might just change my mind. Haha wishfull thinking.
Agree totally RDL - could'nt have put it better myself.
Milner cannot get the basics like a 10 yard pass right consistently and for that reason, as opposed to the 'he doesn't do tons of step overs' argument, is the reason why he isn't rated very highly. He is a squad player at City for a reason.
13 Dec 2013 08:14:40
He is squad player at city.coz. they have sopme real talents for the position.
How about us?. Vioctor Moses on right or james Milner?
He is a right midfielder but he has no pace and cannot beat a man. He can play centre midfield but his range of passing is not good enough to fulfil that role week in week out. He's had one good game against Bayern and now everybody is singing his praises, take a look at the other 10 games where he hasn't done anything. He is nothing special.
Depends what position your talking but, assuming we're talking left wing, I'd have Moses despite his bad form and poor body language. Playing Milner on the wing is the same as playing Henderson on the wing - pointless.

Liverpool football club manager Bill Shankly offered 5 Liverpool first team players to Manchester United after Munich air disaster. Liverpool also kindly offered to pay their wages.
Did you know: That when when United's stadium was bombed, UNITED were allowed to play at Manchester City's ground, until they could fix the problems.

12 Dec 2013 09:30:40
I have read this somewhere. I am sure.
12 Dec 2013 11:45:00
The Munich Air Disaster took place in February 1958.
Bill Shankly became manager of Liverpool in December 1959. The manager at the time of Munich was Phil Taylor( unfortunately not 'The Power'). Liverpool was in fact one of the first clubs to offer help to manchester united including players but it was politely declined.

i seen a documentary were Liverpool and Manchester United players were caught fixing a game so utd wouldn't get relegated about 1914 I think it was, and the utd captain I think his name was docherty from dublin went on to manage barcelona and was largely recognized as the man who saved barca during the time of Franco and the fascists purge on the club by hiding money in an account in america, to this day the barcelona fans still chant his name, the irish man who out witted franco.SIR Bill shankly and Sir Mat busby r former star player were very close friends, I personally think both sets of fans have had to watch each side have their turn of dominance and jealousy kicks in.
{Ed039's Note - The Barcelona coach featured in the documentry was Paddy O'Connell who was born in Dublin. A financial boost from a tour of Mexico took Barca out of their financial troubles at the time as the Spanish league had been suspended due to the cival war. The documentary was on You Tube when I seen it but was made for Irish TV)
12 Dec 2013 12:59:46
cheers ed 039 I couldn't remember the name but he definitely kept money from the clutches of the fascists and saved barca that I do remember from the documentary maybe it was the money made from the tour.
{Ed039's Note - I was reading up about it again there and it said that Barca returned from the tour of Mexico with only 4 players because the rest went into exile in Mexico lol. My old man put me onto the documentry, like I said, a fantastic watch if you like that sort of thing)
Thanks PoOl007 didn't know that but it just goes to show rivalry goes out the window during crisis we all pull together.(Except for the small minority)
11 Dec 2013 22:33:13
Hi Ed's do you think Liverpool will be looking to off load any of the centre backs in January, say Skrtel or agger, to raise funds?
{Ed002's Note - RTP}
11 Dec 2013 20:00:34
Good evening eds,
Just wondering about some of the lads in the U21's Jordan Rossiter and Jordan Lussey, can you see them getting a chance in the midfield due to all the injuries?
And also I thought Ibe looked really impressive against Bolton, any chance for him in the 1st team?
Thanks a lot, great site!
{Ed002's Note - RTP}
11 Dec 2013 19:13:22
Eds do you know if hendo is injured or not an how long for?
{Ed002's Note - Yes - for a while.}
11 Dec 2013 22:48:13
Hi people just wondering on your thoughts? How good is Will Hughes? 1st team material or one for the future.
11 Dec 2013 23:11:42
Have to say all week I've been worrying bout our midfield an maybe left back but was looking at spurs team news today looks like no vertongen no Kabul no rose no erikson. So will prob be capoue an Dawson centre back now I believe with coutinho playing off Suarez an sterling making the runs he did against west ham we could have a lot of joy in this area capoue vs Sunderland was caught out a few times with the run in behind him which Suarez loves walker on his side is worse than Johnson for positioning so I'm more optimistic we can get a positive result now. Any thoughts eds an everyone else
Spurs are on a -1 goal difference and we are on +16 goal difference.
Spurs play against Anzhi Macca'laka :) on Thursday night (let's all love the Europa League ;) and have free scoring Liverpool on Sunday afternoon. I think it's a tasty place to go to but Spurs only just beat Sunderland 2-1 and struggled with finishing off games for much of the season, they are in the mix but playing with their heads down and no genuine in form goal threat.
Last season many opposition fans said Spurs were rubbish without Bale, with denials coming from the Spurs fans. This season, even Spurs fans are saying they are rubbish without Bale. XD
Despite all this, if they win on Sunday, they will be level on points with us.
Spurs = rubbish start to season
Liverpool good start to season
Yet they are only 3 points behind us. Somethings not right there haha
12 Dec 2013 09:32:16
Southampton. Newcaste and Hull city. Drop points would cost us big time. that's 8 points we should have it in our bag.
Newcastle then went on to take all 3 points from Spurs, Chelsea and Man Utd. They're a good side, give them some respect pal
Southampton are a good team as are Newcastle but nc went down to 10 men and we couldn't capitalise so we only have ourselfs to blame. As for hull, the players should be embarrassed. Again for southampton player just don't seam to turn up when we play them.
12 Dec 2013 13:22:05
3 points from Spurs, Chelsea and Man Utd?
They played well against UTD, But UTD were awful.
They were murderd by Spurs who had more than 25 shots on target and Tim Krul saved the day.
They played good against chelsea who never pressed high and were never in the game.
We should have beaten all those above teams with ease.
{Ed039's Note - Goalkeepers win games with saves as much as strikers win them with goals)
12 Dec 2013 14:33:38
Spot On Ed. No Arguments. Goal keeper do wins you the game.
New castle have got couple of good players. that's it. Yohan Cabaye, Loic Remy and a bit aprt of hatem Ben arfa. They are prtty much as good as sunderland.
{Ed039's Note - But they are a much better unit at present)
Yes Harry, 3 points. I'm not sure which part of that is confusing you.
If we beat those 3 teams we'd be jumping for joy regardless of how we won. In big games the points are more important than the performance.
