Ive said that all along,ive even emailed bbc to complain,got nice reply back but still a load of bollox,even alan hansen said as much,
It's because they know people want to watch Liverpool, and so you'll sit through the rest of it just to see it. It's always been how they keep you watching.

I do believe Maxi should be given more games because he does create chances and has a great understanding with suarez. But we also do need a proven goalscorer to finish off all these chances.
Suarez does his all but sometimes can be a bit lacking with the final shot.
We have to keep faith because if you look at the stats, we had 15 shots today and most of them were saved by the qpr keeper. We're moving forward that's a fact. Bring on villa! Downing hopefully will play his socks off in that one!

Not a rumour, more so a comment. As much as I am/was a Fernando Torres fan...he will never return to LFC. He left the same way the Michael Owen did. He left for personal glory and couldnt see the bigger picture....but that is not their fault entirely. The club have let fabulous players go over the last several years, and until recently, not replaced them with anyone of the same calibre. Would I like to see Torres back in a red shirt? Hell yes....but it aint going to happen....so lets move on.

Alonso yes - who else? There are very few players who have left Liverpool and gone on to better things. Keegan went for the glory (he thought Real Madrid and Barcelona wanted him - they didn't!), McManaman did the same as Owen but Liverpool received no money for him. If you can think of any other names let us all know.

Ed have the FA actually got a case with the second Suarez case? What is the charge is it supposed to be "an attempt to rile the fans" or something because I believe Gary Neville once went to the Liverpool end and taunted us which could be much worse along with Adebayor and the Arsenal fans. I am pretty sure none of these actually got banned. Or is it a case of just swearing? Raul Meireles did the same thing and he didn't get banned. I just don't understand the consistency.

No David Villa in Barca's starting 11. He is the exact type of player we need, a finisher. Imagine how many goals he would get with the football we are playing. Macca is right comolli believes Torres hasn't been replaced by an out and out goal scorer.

i think we should go for bent or someone like him thats got a poachers ability cos for me there really on luis and maxi who have got it and when maxi aint playing luis has it all to do by himself so i think if we had a poacher we would deffo core more as luis is definitely a creator. i also think carrol should be given more of a chance by the fans as everyone has a dip in from. let all get behind and support as that's what we are isn't it, supporters.

Agree to everything except Carrol part. The guy has had more than enough playing time to even suggest he is worth a starting role for the first team. An example would be Babel. Babel was useless for us but at least you saw potential in almost every game. Carrol just does not work hard enough for the first 11 which makes us start a game with 10 players. Strikers like Crouch Heskey and co worked their back side off for the team, which is what Carrol doesnt do. Or if I am wrong and he actually does then its a fitness issue which needs to be addressed quick before his career goes down the pan.

I would have to agree. As a great admirer of Rafa, he didn't cover himself in glory with the Alonso/Barry saga.

True Rafa did not handle it well but remember Xabi was not playing that well for a couple of seasons before Rafa started mumbling about Barry. He pulled his socks up athen and played a blinder last season. You might think he was playing for the move and to prove a point to Rafa?

I'm not a great fan of Benetez, he was ok. But when I look at the difference in the team as soon as Dalglish took over there is not competition for me. We are playing passing, moving attractive football and were even before we bought in a lot of player in the summer. Liverpool are starting to Look like Liverpool again.

Agree Skirtel has been great last few games. There was a time he was looking a little dodgy at the back but him hand Agger are playing fantastic together. Also noticed Skirtle more forward in and around the opposition box which is surprising me too.

I was watching lfc tv tonight and Gary Gillespie said that Charlie Adam as all the attributes to be better than Alonso for us. I tend to agree he is certainly on the right lines and i just love watching him play and watch him spray the ball with his left foot. A truly great site.
Also i just want to talk about steve clarke and what a job he as done with our back four. We look really good at the back. Skrtel and agger are forming a great partnership..
Also great news about stevie i hope your back very soon wearing the captains armband.

Charlie Adam has only been here for a couple of months. Alonso didn't really become good until 2007 but I do believe that it is an extremely big claim but he does have potential and in a couple of years he will be noticed as one of the greatest midfielders in the premiership. Plus, I love his attitude!

Come on! Alonso is a one off. A major cog in the Spanish national team. Eyes on the back of his head. Adam I have to say has improved massively since his arrival. I wasn't sold on his purchase. I thought we had brought another Jan Molby without the talent, yet he has improved massively, but he will never get close to Xabi Alonso. I'm happy to have him tho.

Adam is quality and every game he plays he is getter better and fitter. Gillespie was probably right he does have the attributes to be better ...he never said he is better though

that was one of the best sides we could of picked and it showed in our performance, now kenny has to stick with the same formation. then hopefuly when january comes we can get a good right winger in/ striker, and a quality CAM someone like mousa sissoko and gaston ramiez to cover the wings.RedTurk

Does anyone else think that Suarez would be more useful as a wing forward. I know we didn't win but the team did look very fluid playing 4-3-3 at fulham. With gerrard coming back to the team and kenny struggling to find a 4-4-2 partner for luis why not play 4-3-3.....

I feel this formation will solve many problems....
1. 4-3-3 allows us to dominate possession home and away, defensively and offensively.
2. With Gerrard Adam suarez and Downing giving Carroll crosses/through balls he's bound to score from the proper service he deserves.
3. It allows us more than one way of playing if the pass and move doesn't work we can work through the flanks and have midfielders running into the box. Or we can try flick ons to gerrard and suarez via carroll or even get play in suarez and downing behind the last line of defence. Using suarez as a target man doesn't seem to be working at the moment....
4. Carroll with distract defenders for suarez to make most of the space and for gerrard aswell to shoot from long range.
No one know our best team at the moment but I think our best team involves getting the best out of carroll by having stevie, downing and suarez on the pitch at the same time. I'd love to see what everyone else thinks.....

No. He plays where he wants and it really helps. He plays in the same position as Messi. In the centre as a fixed position but he can roam where he wants to create chances. Works so well and he is absolutely fantastic at that but it is a shame he isn't partnered with someone who can stick the ball in the net.

I personally think that when stevie G is back we should play him in the hole behind carrol. Imagine him on the knockdowns. Goals for fun. That would also allow suarez to be on either wing and create chances out of nothing. Adam plus either lucas or hendo in middle.

I dont understand why some people disagree with that. Gievn the current form and affectiveness on pitch this is the perfect lineup. We got bellamy who gat pace and maxi and suarez with trickery and link up play and gerrard with his leadership qualities and driving runs in to the box and adam and henderson marshalling the midfield. Back 4 is set there. Only thing is lucas injured, who would take hendo position and also very good bench with downing, carroll, shelvey and kuyt who all can change the game if needed.

I would swap Kelly with Johnson but other than that it is spot on! I think Kelly is way too good defensively to leave him out of the squad. He is actually quite quick and good at getting forward and helping create chances. Johnson is amazing at attacking but defensively he has lost us some points. Maybe we should sell Johnson or put him on the right wing. I believe if we do sell him we will be kicking ourselves when someone like Harry Redknapp puts him on the wing.

Again a dominant performance but we were very wasteful again. I don' wan to put a damper on things but what be said if we didn't win again. Solid performance from Hendo in the middle of the park and the defence was great as usual. we just need someone to finish of these moves and for the scoreline to reflect our dominance.

Simple, Andy Carroll. Give him a run of games and he may just suprise everyone. Playing him with Suarez and Downing in the team would help for a start/ I actually thought his link up play was very good against Fulham.

KiwiRed, I can't help but disagree. When we play him we seem to be sloppy and he seems to be quite weak physically which is extremely odd considering that we bought him for his physicality. I think that today we proved that we can play good football but with Carroll in the squad the football aspect has been eliminated and we try our hardest to get it to Carroll which doesn't suit our style. As soon as Gerrard gets back we will score goals for fun with him and Suarez playing together upfront.

I think the game was fantastic. We had a lot of attacks. The only problem that i saw was that when the ball was going forward towards the opposition box our players didn't run forward to assist.I think when the ball rolls forward both wingers, both strikers and at least one mid fielder should go forward to confuse the opposition defense and also to provide assist. It was times the ball was crossing in front of the opposition net and it was nobody there to score.

What do you guys make of Jobi McAnuff (reading)? Squad player, but I think better than pennant and seems more intelligent. Another two-footed player. Went on a really good run against us in a cup game, his form has been good for the past two seasons.

being out all day, dont know much about the match but 3 pts were important. 3 wins from next 4 leaves us on 35 pts. gerard is back on boxing day and new players bedded in. 70 pts should be easily reached. that should get us top 4.
i know everything is not perfect and cant myself figure out team selections other than kenny has them all week and knows more than us. i was wrong to say redturk was not liverpool fan and he is entitled to have a say. i love liverpool and think we are on right road. we will have bumps along the way. next target is 35 pts at halfway stage, i know eds say no new players in jan but i am not so sure or maybe hoping. we have a good team and decent squad, now need a proven player or two to make a real difference.

Hendo had another decent game. Hopefully started to feel confident as it has looked like he a bit overawed with the move. Some good play today but don't think he a natural tackler. Correct me if im wrong please people but did he make that many good tackles today??

I think QPR did not give us any problems really.

I must admit I was a little dubious over Adam when he signed, but he gives me the impression that he has an almighty pride playing for Liverpool. He really wants this to work. Can't fault that.

I thought we were excellent today, some good goal keeping and slightly wasteful finishing stopped it from being a rout. Good to see Luis score, was starting to think he looked frustrated from a lack of goals.
Adam was fantastic, driving forward all the time with both runs and passes, looks less like a CM and more like AM all the time.

Gutted that I couldn't watch the game today. Sounds like a typical dominant performance with the opposition keeper pulling off minor miracles again.
Really happy for Adam as I thought he has looked class since we signed him. He has taken a lot of stick like many of our new signings but he is really starting to shine now. He is creating lots of chances and can always chip in with a goal too.

something wrong with our forward play? plenty of possesion in midfield. just not enough movement up front. too slow getting the ball out midfield allways going out wide to be crossed in. too easy to defend

Liverpool's midfield is jus not good enough. No trickery, no flair, no creativity not enough pace, no one who constantly turns the screws and takes players on, no players with quick feet, no excitement. Until we realise that these players are very rarley found in England we will continue to struggle to beat these small clubs who just sit back and defend playing for a draw.
Carroll and bellamy need to be introduced and we really need to beat them because this is just not good enough.

Good first half. Totally outplaying QPR. However i feel we are still missing something in the final third. Its no one in particulars fault as the way i see it we are playing without a frontman. Suarez is a free roamer midfielder i believe. He cant be expected to create a chance for himself and finish it. Im not complaining though.
Just get a goal early in second half boys and floodgates open. Otherwise we might get edgy and have crowd on out back

Because Carroll isnt a threatening presence to the opposition box most of the time and thus doesnt contribute to winning corners. Most times the player we use instead of him is getting in the box. In other words with Carroll on the field the team is somehow more deep than often.

It pains me to say, but according to a friend of mine who is usually not a million miles away with his info, has led me to believe that lfc will not be making any significant sighnings i.e there will not be any 15-20 million players being bought in Jan. Kenny will bring in 1 or 2 versatile squad players and make his moves in the summer. I personally hope this isn't true as I think LFC need to break the bank and sighn at least one world class forward in order to make a push for the champions lge.
Its extremely hard to get those player that youre on about in January. we have the squad to make fourth. its all about form, fitness and abit of luck now. then bolster the squad in the summer with some class signings.

Carrol came to Liverpool almost 1 year ago with few years premiership experience, fans still asking for time for him to adapt.
Aquilani came to Liverpool from Italy with no premiership experience and injured lasted about the same time most fans wanted him out no one asked for time for him to adapt. Why?

Patience is not a trait of everyone lad. Clearly not one of RedTurk's, but never the less he is a supporter and has an opinion. It does get a bit samey at times "next season" "wait til we gel" "see our team in a few years" etc. Some decisions, tactics and signings are baffling and the same problems have been around for years. I was lucky enough to have been already born and saw LFC win league titles. Most of the guys on here have only seen the 2005 CL and a couple of cups. It really is about time the club gave its millions of younger supporters some trophies to cheer about. Just a thought.

Eds I'd just like to say thanks for all the hard work you put put in, the daily entertainment you provide via this site and your patience in answering the same questions over and over again.
People need to realise you give up your own time to pass own snippets of information you have heard. Some times it will come to fruition other times it won't. It can all change for a number of reasons until the moment you see Kenny standing at Anfield shaking a new players hand. Personally I think we are only missing a Barnes and a Aldridge type player.

I saw this written by Jonson yesterday and I have to say he's miles off the mark, the simple fact is that football is EXACTLY as simple as that! Changing formation or style can turn a players form around and as a supposed ex player he should be aware if that
Ha ha ha,no supposed about it,but belive what you want. If it was that simple,why are Villa not adjusting their play to have Bent ramming them home? Called loss of form,Bent ain't playing well as well as not scoring and when he does it'll be down to him getting his form and confidence back,which is more important then just altering a formation and hey presto,jobs sorted. Make me laugh,get through to a radio station a couple of time's and the way football should be played to get the best out of players is their for all to see.

Sorry Jonson I have to agree with our nameless friend, a change of formation and tactics can definitely have an effect on a players form. Especially in the case of villa where they have a manager who has no interest in playing to Bents strengths. Darren Bent will as good as guarantee a decent team 20 goals and I would take him tomorrow . By the way I wouldn't question your footballing pedigree as far as I'm concerned you have no reason to lie about it

Henderson finally playing through the middle is a good thing, hopefully the latest injuries will force daglish to play to andy carrolls strengths and play downing and maxi as out and out wide players. enrique imo is on the verge of a call up for the euros with spain. coates looks like a good un for the future, adam is finally growing into a good player but still room for improvement with his dead ball delivery from corners. kos

I doubt you are a fan of 30 years with that attitude. Redturk might be negative, but he is still one of us, is obviously passionate about the club, and is allowed and opinion. Sometimes him and Ash create a balance with the rose tinted glasses brigade. I like to stay somewhere in between to remain sane and keep perspective.

good times ahead liverpool fans. now need a run of results for top four spot and a cup to top off season and thats stage one. man city are the big problem now, unlimited cash and ambition. maybe chelsea if owner invests 100 million again. spurs, i just cant see them competing at the top for too long. man u are flat broke trying to unload 30% of club in asian stock markets to bring debt down but have put it off till mid 2012 now.

midfield needs gerard back, then attacking right side player is needed.
up front suarez is the best in pl at the moment, carroll needs time, bellemy is great backup. need proven finisher as results have shown.
but overall things are looking up. owners have invested 340 million including transfers and have ambition for more than top four. we have no debt and three or four great prospects in youths. dont like some fans being negative after a poor result but i suspect that most are not liverpool fans.

Enrique and johnson are not the best full backs in the league, seen kyle walker lately!! gerrard is limping from one injury to the next. suarez has scored 4 goals in the league this season, 2 more than carroll and he has had a mare of a start to the season. you need to get real Boh and look at the facts. just go and look at the table, it does not lie. kos

I would go with maxi, carroll and suarez as our front three today does anybody agree? I thought carroll had a really good game against fulham and he is not far away from a glut of goals as long as the sevice is right.

Totally agree on carroll. did nothing wrong at fulham, unlucky not to score. is a handful and distracts defenders to allow more room for others.
Unfortunately we'll struggle to cobble together 3 central midfielders to allow for a front 3. Personally I'd play Agger as dm but I imagine we'll go 4-4-2

Look where Liverpool was only 12 months ago. We might not be taking all our chances but kenny is right in saying we should of won every game apart from spurs. I just think how good we will be when our luck changes. If it wasn't for some brilliant goal keeping displays (look how many goal keepers get motm against us) or our strikers start scoring the goals we know they are capable of, we would be much higher up the table.
Further more red Turk, most tv channels will show the samaritans helpline over Xmas, I suggest you get a pen ready.

Im with JRG, he does'nt see that this club is being rebuilt not everything falls into place straight away. I would rather have Kenny saying, we should have won this game or that game. Than Roy saying it was a good point gained by playing against a strong side like Wigan (e.g).
Our club has had alot of comings and goings, from board level, coach/manager to squad ins/outs. We must give them time and support, i respect your right of opinion but suspect your knowledge of football if you cant recognise what is happening at our club.
Look at history of clubs like Chelsea, Spurs and Man city after massive changes at there clubs did there succes happen over night.
Chelsea taken over 2003 first trophy 2005
Harry joined Spurs in 2008 first trophy-(although cl)
City taken over 2008 first trophy 2011 CL 2011.

Sorry, but where is the improvement. 14 games played, 9 goals at home, 7th place 23 points.. Blackburn have scored more goals than us. granted we went on a good unbeaten run, he has made liverpool harder to beat. i put that down to steve clark. credit where its due. comoli and daglish are incharge of bringing players to the club. some have worked well, others are flops. it happens... but i just don't get making 7 changes in the 2 bob cup and leaving lucas on at 2-0 up. bear in mind he should have been rested along with the other key players in the first place. kos

That's hindsight gone mad. To be fair, there was 20 x mins left when he got injured just after Liverpool's second goal. He may have been brought off with 5 or 10 to go, to get the usual standing ovation reserved for a MoM performance. It was just one of those things I'm afraid.

Yes 100%, i said it to my mate the day b4. suarez, lucas and pepe, should have been rested. doni has not played this season, lucas has no player in the squad as a back up, and suarez needed the break. i was proved right. his back up allowed dempsey to run the fulham attacks, and he got sent off for a school boy tackle. kos

Too be quite honest with you all, there has been a few games we were lucky to come away with a draw 1 of them being played against swansea anyone remember? anyway if we play like barcelona every year which we are not and we keep finishing 6 or 7th, i hope your all happy while the others are playing in champions league.
