Why is there a problem with a Super League?

FIFA, UEFA our own FA are self serving, autocratic money grabbers. What’s wrong with changing the way the game is structured? Serious question, by the way.

Agreed, pot calling the kettle black. Don’t want a Super League to happen, more than happy with what we have. Also don’t want to be left behind if all the “big clubs” move on and the PL becomes a lesser product.
You’re right tho, they are all self serving, money grabbers but that doesn’t necessarily mean big clubs have to follow suit tho.

I agree with competition of tournaments and no one should have a monopoly. However I don't think the super league is the right way to go. I would like to see alternative tournaments from other organisations though, so long as this doesn't increase the already burdomesome fixture list.

I agree with the statement regarding UEFA/ FIFA etc but we cannot change to a structure without pyramid of league and guaranteed income. Its just not sport.

I hope we stay within our league but worry we get left behind if we don't join, but what worries me more is if we join we could become one of the also rans in there, Barcelona Madrid manu Chelsea City bayern juventus Milan are all massive clubs ( like ourselves ) but elite players pick we're they get paid more and more 'exotic locations '. while we're in our own domestic league we'd still be as popular as ever, a few lean years in super league could see us diminish our popularity.

Maybe I've missed something, but is the idea of the super League not to effectively replace the champions League? From what I understand, domestic football would remain the same, and that's now a possibility because uefa/ FIFA can't sanction clubs for playing in non uefa/ FIFA competitions. Seems to be a bit of confusion as to what the proposed competition actually is.

@Rugby Parker, you might well be correct mate, maybe I have the wrong end of the stick and to be honest, that wouldn’t concern me as much if the PL stayed as it was.

@Stronsgodset
I would guess the only club that has our number is Real Madrid. Sure they are all big clubs/ big games but we’re a big club too mate.

West Derby Wanderer3, was going to say the exact same thing. Fans were in arms about the ESL yet UEFA/ FIFA were going to sanction the exact same thing and suddenly they are quiet and no protests are happening.

Their propaganda must have worked and the "voice of the people" in the media like Lineker and Neville did their jobs well. At the end of the day, the fans and the viewing public get screwed. As for big clubs following it? These are autonomous entities and if they are being left behind, they will join too, IMO.

All the three that have decided to join are skint. Juventus is the most corrupt football club in the world and while Barcelona have pledged themselves to the bank for another 100 years.

Completely agree WDW3, the governing bodies lost the ability to pretend they are on the side of the people many years ago.
Don't necessarily like the SL either though, seems replacing one money grabbing c@£t with a differrent money grabbing c@£t.
