Anyone else feel a bit disappointed that we signed Mac Allister for £35m? If we’d paid £70m it would have meant that he would have been twice as good.

I felt quite disappointed at first but then I thought perhaps the club are quite good at bargaining. Then I thought about Gakpo and Diaz and Jota and Thiago. Now I’m just not sure. I hope our next transfer costs us a lot more because then we can show the big boys that we are big too.

Hoping this is a joke post ? the number don't matter mate, if anything it makes me happier when it's low as it shows what we can do on a 'normal' premier league budget as opposed to Football Manager transfer dealings like Chelsea, City, United etc.

If Keita was 30m it would have been a good deal we got unlucky with. The fact he cost 60+m has changed the way we go about our transfer dealings.

WDW unless every player we sign costs more than the Grealish line then we are never going to compete with ManCity! It’s like when we bought Robbo, I’d knew we would never win another trophy….

There is no doubt that when you have plenty of money to spend that you usually come out on top. Sure you can quote Robbo as a great but rare example. I mean there’s a reason why City have won so many trophies and it isn’t because they are looking for the next Robbo to fill their ranks.

It’s great that we have been able to exploit the fact Mac Alister had a 35 mill clause in his contract and we’ve out negotiated anyone else in for him by getting him to sign our contract. The fact we’ve saved money on this big war chest Klopp refuses to spend on any player he wants means ee have plenty left for our other targets.

At 4 mill last seasons Arthur was definitely 4 times the player that Milner has ever been for us.

And agree with you Irish. City, Utd, Chelsea, Arsenal and us are the biggest spenders in Premier league history. But if spending helps get success then how did Leicester win the premier league trophy that once in the last 30 years.

Not sure who won the other 29 mind.

Just as long as our boat is bigger than City’s oil tankers ?.
