Ed would you of thought Klopp would want his team including new signings ready together for the tour of the US with our first game v BVB on the 17th of July? Seems unlikely now, so maybe not as important as I thought?

{Ed001's Note - Klopp does not throw new players straight into the team, he gradually beds them in, very much in the way we used to in the past. It is of no relevance when they arrive. What it does is give youngsters a chance to be assessed.}

i think the great thing with our team at the moment is, as ed says, are able to bed them in. with a lot of signings for other teams they are in need of a position to start straight away.

we are not short of a position but more maybe a little short in the squad so we have time to allow them to get up to speed with the demands of our team.

Spot on, SR. We got near 100 points last season while at the same time, bedding in 3 new signings and potential starters (Naby, Allison, Fab) in a system that is not easy to thrive in where it takes time for new players to adapt to. That just shows how brilliant we were last season.

The good thing this season is that we don't have to do that this season cos the three players (with Ox coming back) have a full season under their belt and are more comfortable in the system. Hopefully, this will be an advantage for us this season.

The stability of our squad allowed us the leisure of bedding players in. In a way Ox and Keita have had full seasons (in separate years) to find their feet.

Having said that, there are always players who can jump right in if they are good enough. I recall Mane, Salah, Alisson and VVD being thrown straight into the first team and becoming instant successes.
