On our new signings. Feedback welcomed.

Fabinho looks like a lovely player all beit, he is getting used to a different football culture, new language and climate etc. I think though, by looking at him in recent games he needs to improve his intensity, become more aggressive and improve on his overall decision making. My belief is he will compliment Trent well being a top class right back by trade knowing his responsibilities of covering when Trent advances which i saw a lot of against Fulham.

Shaqs looks like he could be another Coutinho type signing. Absolute steal in price, intelligent play making, amazing set piece taker and the luxury that he doesn't score 'normal' goals. The fact he cuts in and likes to shoot and the low center of gravity drew some similarities, difference only being the foot they generally like to play with.

Keita i've not seen enough of but, i was there for his debut i genuinely mean it when i say it was one of the best debuts from a player coming from another league that i've ever seen. He has been put on the left at times then injury struck. I feel, we will see the very best of Naby next season playing expansive box to box football and chipping in with a few goals.

Allison just looks assured, he fills me with confidence but more importantly those in front of him are assured to have him in between the sticks. Its no big coincidence we have the best deffence in the league this year, he has added calmness a long with excellent distribution at times. Last season had Alisson been in the team, he'd probably be on assist number 8 for the season. However the mutrity in our play this year will see more calmness and a more seasoned approach to his play.

Happy red at the minute, how could you not be? Rest assured this will be the biggest push for the title we have ever made, enjoy the ride!

Brilliant post, OP and your assessment is very nuanced and cohesive. As Keita, I watched RBL a tonne last season and don't worry about him. If he shows anything remotely resembling the perfs. he was showing in the second half of last season (after a difficult first half) then you will love him. Take the RBL v Bayern for example. They had NO answer for him in the press cos he was all over the Bayern midfield and bursting forward with pace, power and precision in his decision-making in the final third. He scored the winning goal in a 2-1 win and Matts Hummels after the game, said that he had never seen a team press them that much in a game. When he gets up to speed, look out.

Thank you Salah,

i feel we set the bar so high in terms of performance last year that our expectation this year is to do the same. A lot has to do (in my opinion of course) with the back room change. Buvac was the maveric that likes the ploy of 'you score 1 we'll score 2". Ljinders is cautious and it is bringing out the best of our defence. As i said in my previous post, we look much more seasoned and calmer now, not the 10 goal thrillers of last season but we aren't conceding silly goals anymore which is fantastic.

The old saying, goals win you games but clean sheets win you titles springs to mind!

BRover, thank you also,

Very excited to see that Naby in a red shirt, im filled with confidence that his signing will elevate our play. Interesting what you said about Bayern and the press, can't wait to seem him and Ox play together. That high octane football will be an absolute joy with Fabinho sitting in behind picking up the pieces. Like i say, Fab is just settling in and gelling but once he does he will set like concrete in our midfield.
