Can i ask why fowler and owen never got on.

For years I thought it was media hype but you clearly seem to know different.

Personally i think owen did us a favour by going to madrid. We just did not get full market value for him.

I also think he was outstaning for a few years but was never good enough to come back after madrid. Signing him back would have been based upon sentiment alone imo.

Once his pace had gone there was not much of a footballer left, just a fox in the box.

A great player for a few seasons, never a legend.

I don't give 2 monkies that he went to united. Had suarez or fowler gone to. united now that would have been different.

{Ed001's Note - it was not so much they didn't get on as people, it was that Owen wanted everything on a plate and built to service his needs only. He didn't like sharing the limelight, and hated even more the fact that he was in Fowler's shadow. Rather than just working harder and making himself better, as at 18 he had the potential to be a much better player, instead he would bitch and moan, which is why he peaked so young. He was the modern day spoilt brat player, who thought the world owed him everything once he had made it.

At youth level he had to constantly prove himself because he was the knob in the Everton shirt who got the stick for wearing it constantly, even though he rejected the Toffees to join Liverpool's youth team. So he had something to prove and worked hard. It all changed the moment he became a first team regular and got a big contract. He reminds me of a mate of mine, whenever he was dating a girl he would do anything to impress them and win them over. Often do the dishes, clean the house etc, the moment he got married it stopped. He turned into Jim Royle, expecting her to run around after him and do everything. Owen is like that. Once he gets his feet under the table, he expects everyone to do everything for him while he tries to avoid it.}

Just out of curiousity, your mate still married ed? :)
dont give a toss about owen and i don't like him beimg mentioned in the same breath as Fowler. But all pundits do. its a schmockery.
