ED001/ ED002

Hope all is well!

Regarding Nabil Fekir could you potentially see Liverpool going back in for him in next years window?
f he doesn't sign a contract extension I believe next season he will have 1yr remaining, therefore would Liverpool be more encouraged
with Lyons potential 'lower valuation' of the player considering time left on his contract?

Or. regarding all these rumours about Liverpool being unsatisfied with the medical report in reference to his knee, is this done and buried with Liverpool forever and all future questioning regarding Liverpool and Nabil should be ended?

Thanks
Tommy T.

{Ed001's Note - depends on Klopp. As he was still keen on signing Fekir after the medical, he might well push for the signing at a lower fee. We know Klopp is stubborn and wait for the man he wants, so it is very possible he does go back in for him.}

Thanks Ed001, fairly encouraging comment. Im a big fan of Nabil and was gutted the deal didn't go through. However, signing Alisson did soften the blow for me.

{Ed001's Note - I would have loved Fekir to sign until I realised it would make Ed0333 happy and that would have taken the shine off it for me!}

For me signing fekir in January is preferable to the summer. Adding a player of that quality mid season can give you a boost to kick on and finish strong if you're in a small dip or looks like your going to go through 1, abit like how VVD pushed us on last year.

Would you think it possible he might want him in January ed. Appreciate that's very hard for you to answer mate.

Maybe if we are well off the pace at Xmas.

{Ed001's Note - impossible to say.}

I can't see it happening unless there was a notable injury in midfield between now and then. To be honest I like the prospect of Keita playing furthest forward of the midfield 3 after the first proper glimpse of his abilities at the weekend.
I think us going back in for Fekir next summer will depend on him firstly still being at Lyon and secondly having another standout injury-free season.
That being the case I think the powers that be would see it as a much lower risk buy as the fee would likely also reflect him entering the final year of his contract next season.

If Fekir stays another season at Lyon and has another good season as this past one, then his price goes up. Way up. And if Keita has the kind of season that his first game has indicated, then I doubt the need to look at Fekir any further, save for major injuries to the front 3 or in midfield.

{Ed002's Note - Liverpool never went back for Fekir.}
