I was thinking, yes mane has upped his game recently in terms of goals over the last few games but if we are all been completely honest he doesn't seem quite right in general this season, certainly not in terms of his final ball and finish in comparison to what it was last season.

Ed01, do you or anyone else even think it might have something to do with him being switched to the left wing this season? Having played most of last season on the right where now ironically salah is and is having a joy of a season! Just wondering also does mane have a preference and could he be a bit annoyed at the joy salah is getting in what was originally his position?

{Ed001's Note - he is happy playing where he is mate, he does not have to hold out on the left, it is just a starting point. He can drift hither and thither as he wishes. Mane is just not in tip top form, injuries and being in and out of the side because of them have just seen it dip. He will come good again I am sure.}

Ah right thanks Ed, I’m sure he will too and I’m still happy with the input he’s giving was just wondering if he himself had any preference which he knew of for his sort of starting point in the line up. Espeically when I think the right backs u would be facing in the league would probably be a bit better quality than left backs in general as there seems to be a shortage of top quality left backs from who I can think of!

{Ed001's Note - he was known as a left winger before he joined us mate.}

100% correct ed. He just needs to find a little missing rhythm. On his best form I think he is our best player or very very close to it.

Even when 10% off his best form he still contributes with goals and assists, there are not many players in the league that can match him.

It's nothing to do with position. Its his pace and acceleration has dramatically decreased since his double hamstring injury. I have noticed it for the last month/ Like most on here I was initially untroubled since I just suspected it to be match fitness but it actually has not improved at all. Yes he has scored some goals but his ability to race past people has completely gone and Its not a fitness thing since he plays 90 minutes without problem. T

he list of players who were lightning quick and then lost that couple of yards after hamstring tears is endless. Even just with liverpool there was owen and torres who were both crushed by hamstring tears. Not to mention Sturbridge who also completely lost his sprinting ability.

I know I will get hate for this but I mentioned it on twitter weeks ago and more and more people have noticed how he hasn't gone past anyone recently the way he did last season and is getting out sprinted by most players. I would love to be wrong but I will bet a lot of money that his other worldly pace does not return.

Yeah I think people are quick to forget he had a significant hamstring injury and was in a sense rushed back a little earlier than should of been and then had a reoccurance of the same thing. i think that has taken it's toll on him slighty and with all them games over the Xmas period klopp played it right in resting him from time to time to help protect him breaking down again.

As ed said as the season gets on I think you will see him finish it really strong.

Could've fooled me when he was leaving Kyle Walker for dead 😂.

There are LFC players that I worry about. Sadio Mane is NOT one of them. The guy is a beast. All you have to do is look at the pure quality of his last two goals both with his left foot. Form is temporary BUT Class is permanent. Mane will be fine.

StevieJesus- You could be right, although Manes hammy injuries have not been on a par with Owens, what’s the maximum time he’s been out?2 months?
I hope your wrong and it’s just a confidence thing, I did think he looked to get a little swag back on Sunday after his goal and was being more direct afterwards.

Yes Cobra I know what you mean in terms of the seriousness of the injury. As I say I wasn't overly concerned early on but its now been a long time since he's been back and his fitness is back but that pace has not improved at all. I have been watching him very closely every game and its just got me a little concerned. Not sure why that moron said he left walker for dead because he frequently got out sprinted by many players even Fernandinho. If you watch his previous 4 games vs clips from last season or so he has not gone round the outside of fullbacks the way he was. its night and day. Fortunately for us he's absolute class so he can still score goals and perform well with his current fitness, I just worry he may have lost that extra couple yards. Only time will tell.
