I remember a while ago we were linked with Sergi Samper. I think he’s on loan at Las Palmas this season. I know La Liga is not the PL but he’s got great passing range - short and long. With young Allan unlikely to get a work permit and Barcelona wanting Phil I wonder whether there’s an opportunity to get the young deep lying playmaker?

If we need any type of midfielder, it should be a DM which will allow Hendo to play the other CM role where his ability and athleticism to press the oppo. will be very useful.

I do agree we need a DM but I also feel that we need someone that has a bit more passing range than we have. A lot of our mids are runners and pressers which is fine against mid-low end teams but in a top clash you need that ability to turn defence into attack with a pass rather than a dribble. Let the ball do a bit of work too ;)

Paredes could be a good option to replace Henderson as our deepest midfielder. Likes to play through balls to kick start counter attacks and is a good tackler with aggression.
