I have to say i love firmino, And as an all round player he is quality.

But he should not be our striker, We talk about how the defence puts too much pressure on our attackers to have to score more than 1 goal a game because they will always concede. But firmino also puts extra pressure on man, salah and coutinho to score every game because he wastes a lot of chances himself to score.

This is no way a condemnation of firmino but if he is going to be our striker he has to be clinical, You can't ask our defenders to defend 1st before trying to play and not ask our striker to score first.

We should have allowed coutinho to leave and put firmino into the 10 position and bought a striker like belotti who can do what firmino does but also can finish.

He reminds me of Luis Gargia, scores screamers he has no right to score e. g vs juventus 05 and vs stoke last season, but also screws every 1 on 1 wide when he should be finishing those.

Just my opinion.

Without Firmino's movement to create space, which other out and out strikers may not offer, mane and salah would score a lot less goals, firmino is essential to the way we play and you see how much we lose when mane or salah have been unavailable and he's put on the wing to allow a striker, in any other position, firmino is a lot less effective so I believe the balance we have with the front three is 100% correct for now.

SH, I suggest you go watch Firmino in full flow in the WH game again and then you will see that he is THE linchpin in everything we do. He is the reason Salah, Mane and Cou, score the goals they score. Did you see how he turned Reid for the chance he laid onto Ox to score. If that is not true CF play then I don't know what is. Without him, our wide forwards are not as effective. Saying he puts lots of pressure on Salah, Mane or whoever is strange as him providing them space to run into (something NO other CF will willingly do, btw) is part of his job so I don't know even know what that comment even means.

Sure he should score more BUT that is a separate argument . Bar prolly Suarez, Aguero, Lewandowski and maybe Kane, NO CF can do/ is willing to do what he does in our system cos they are asked to score goals first. He is asked to not just score BUT to mostly provide space for others which is a thankless job. We have scored about 220 goals and counting since Klopp arrived with Firmino playing the CF position and if that is not enough for you then I can't help you.

i would love to see him play in a 442 as a second striker like king Kenny or peter Beardsley. my be play mane up top.
