It's weird how good Barcelona are, yet none of there players really interest me rather be dealing with Real Madrid.

That's only because you know that their best players aren't available.
Messi, Suarez, Pique, Rakitic, Jordi Alba would interest me if I thought we could get anywhere near them.

Barcelona have been in a very transitional period. In defense they've really never replaced puyol in midfield they've struggled to replace Xavi and Iniesta through injury has not been the same player in the last 18 months. Any Liverpool fans that feel we get a lot of our transfer dealings wrong should take a look at what barcelona have bought in the last 5 years bar the odd exception like Neymar Suarez alba they're has been a lot of wasted money there.

Because behind a truly elite front two (was three), their squad isn't that good. Iniesta was a great player even as recently as 2014, but no longer, and the rest of them are either poor buys or have become used to the front three annihilating opposition by themselves.

For me they have a handful of world class players, and then a pretty average squad.

Messi is different class, and I'd take him in a straight swap for Couts. Never happening so not worth asking.
Suarez is world class but I'd steer clear after his behaviour last time.
Iniesta is world class but his legs are going. He would be very good as a Gary Mac-esque signing though.
Pique is world class but he is an ex Manc and he needs to stay off social media.
Busquets is top class but his antics annoy the hell out of me and he plays in our captains position.
Alba is top class but we have just signed a left back.
Sergi Roberto is top class and I'd take him no questions asked.
Mascherano is a good player but like Suarez, left in disgrace.
Rakitic is a good player but many seem to think his legs have gone or are going.
Turan is a good player and an LFC fan, but he is really injury prone.
Umtiti is a good player who I would take.
Ter Stegen is a good player who I would take.
Gomes is a decent player, but Can is better.
Munir is a decent player, but Solanke is better.
Denis Suarez is a decent player, but Lallana is better.

I think I'd ask for Sergi Roberto, Umtiti, Iniesta or Ter Stegen (knowing full well the answer is probably a flat no) and if they do say no, I'd want full cash up front. Any of their other players (Messi aside) would just be settling out of panic.

I agree with you MK in that we should ask for Sergi Roberto. Brilliant player and he's still relatively young.
