To any of the eds. With this new Costa news do you see any of the Chinese clubs coming in for any of our players and any that might have their heads turned. Obviously would love them to come in for sakho. What's your opinion on footballers that go to china? I understand the ones in their twighlight years to raise their already stupidly high bank balance, but the oscars and ramires' who will ever buy them back for the crazy prices they've gone for

{Ed025's Note - in my view peely they are just greedy sods, these guys are all multi millionaires anyway!, how much do they really need?...they cant spend what they have in a dozen lifetimes and to be honest in these days of austerity and cut backs it makes me sick, these are not footballers they are mercenaries mate..

1.) 14 Jan 2017 08:49:33
25 - they may donate to extended family, their area of upbringing, charity, worthwhile causes etc etc. Who knows. just saying!

2.) 14 Jan 2017 09:44:36
In my humble opinion if someone's offering him 2-3 times his current wage it is a huge offer and he'd be mad not to consider it.
These are human beings, not robots. And yes they can be swayed. Many of them do a lot for their old neighbourhoods and families, the more they earn the more they give to charities. They haven't created the situation they are victims of it.
Coming from a poor background myself, if by magic tomorrow I could earn enough to make sure my brothers and sisters children nephews nieces would never have to go through the stresses of being poor (their are many) . Sometimes not having enough for bread and milk. then I'm sorry but call me what u want, I wouldn't think twice.

If an employer deems them worth it then why not. what I do disagree with is the manner in which certain players try to leave.

3.) 14 Jan 2017 09:18:26
Very true ed25, couldn't agree more with that mate.

4.) 14 Jan 2017 09:55:12
There are no mercenaries ed025. There are only rich and poor!

{Ed025's Note - its a good job you and me are rich then harry.. :)

5.) 14 Jan 2017 13:15:25
I wouldn't fault a single one of them for leaving. We would probably all do the same. We only live once, and that is a LOT of money to provide for your family. I agree it's ridiculous, that anyone could be paid that much to play any sport, but it's the world we live in.

6.) 14 Jan 2017 14:35:04
Magic and TJ are spot on. "Don`t hate the player, hate the game" as they say in the States. If the money is there, get it while you can cos if you don`t another player will. It`s easy to judge from the outside looking in BUT it`s not that simple, as Magic has eloquently stated.

Many of these players especially from developing or third world countries, came from very difficult backgrounds (poverty, civil and military strife or destitution) so who can blame them? They have a lot of mouths to feed and many individuals depend on their income. Hey, get it while you can and forget the rest, me thinks.

Sorry guys, China is just the next level in this crazy football world.

To me, the game sold its soul to the devil as soon as Rupert Murdoch got his horrible claws into the game, Sky TV.

Not forgetting the birth of the Premier League. All about money money money. It's no suprise football is where it's at now.

It won't be long before we have to set timers on our watches +8hrs in order to watch our teams.

To any of the eds. I know he's a player that might not suit klopps system and he probably would want champions league football and crazy wages. But do you think fabregas would add to our first 11. It's great watching our quick style of play especially with mane. But if coutinho isn't in form we lack a player that can make that killer pass. better than lallana surely and wjinaldum (even though he's just signed) I know we can't buy everyone but sometimes if quality players become available it's worth trying no?

peely81

{Ed018's Note - Fabregas only contributes in certain types of matches anymore. You need to have the majority of possession and he needs no defensive responsibility. If you play him deeper you will watch midfielders run by him with ease and he won't even try to put a boot in. Personally I don't see him playing much this season at Chelsea so if you want him he's yours but yea I would be willing to bet Liverpool is not an option if he were to leave}

1.) 29 Aug 2016 01:21:47
why can't we give brannagan the chance to make the killer pass? fabregas has no chance of playing in a klopp team, looks like conte does not rate him either.

{Ed001's Note - Branagan is a better player, Fabregas is awful unless given time and space and no responsibility. If people think teams run through our midfield now, then they should see what it would be like with that lazy get in there.}

2.) 29 Aug 2016 08:02:55
arsenal replaced him with a better player, Barcelona replaced him with a better player, and now chelsea have dropped him and in kante let's say have replaced him with a better player. see a trend.

Haha. I think it's more to do with the fact he's refused to play first team football and to be named in our champions league squad so he will end up in reserves/ und23 team.

We should've just paid him the wages he wanted and offered game time and we could've had him for £5million a few years ago.

{Ed001's Note - or made sure Gerrard was awake when the lad was coming in to be shown around by Stevie G. He was supposed to be meeting his idol and having a look round with a view to signing, he came in and Gerrard was asleep so it never happened and he went and looked round Spurs after and signed for them. If Gerrard had been awake, the lad would never have even looked anywhere else, but it must have felt like a huge slap in chops for him that Gerrard couldn't even be bothered to be awake for the appointment they had made.}

Barcelona have been in a very transitional period. In defense they've really never replaced puyol in midfield they've struggled to replace Xavi and Iniesta through injury has not been the same player in the last 18 months. Any Liverpool fans that feel we get a lot of our transfer dealings wrong should take a look at what barcelona have bought in the last 5 years bar the odd exception like Neymar Suarez alba they're has been a lot of wasted money there.

He has more potential to be a left winger he is constantly caught out of position after flying up the flank when we have the ball then he strolls back when we lose position he is just plain awful.

How can you possibly say the other leagues are weaker what makes you think the premiership is a stronger league than la liga. Is that because there were 2 spanish teams in the champions league final 3 spanish teams in Europa league semi finals. remember Seville haven't exactly been flying in la liga over the last few years yet still beat us.

We will certainly miss can sakho and origi. As for Henderson out football has vastly improved and flowed much quicker since he has been ruled out. Would like to see a change in captain next year as he shouldn't even make the first team.
