I think now is the right time to cash in on couts he is r jewel in the crown but he's only good for 3/ 4 of a season he's prone to a knock or two . my only concern is replacing him a week before the season. and if we get neymar money everybody's price will go up and klopps nobody's fool but I'm afraid he'll take a stand to show that he'll only do business at the right price and that could cost us!

Since when is Couts prone to a knock or two? Have you seen how he gets targeted and kicked but seems to be able to push on, much the same way Suarez did?
If we sell, how can we expect to attract top players if they think the other top players in the team might be sold?
I know when Barcelona and Real come knocking there tends to be only one outcome, but IF the club take a stand, even if it's just for 1 more season, it sends a decent message.
I grew up in our hey day of the 70's and then the magical 80's, so I know the feeling of seeing us win the league. Many on here don't know that feeling. Trust me, if holding on to our best players increases our chances of the title, you won't care about the money we missed out on.

The money we miss out on is SO MUCH outweighed by the perils of losing our best player. For some reason, some football fans are conditioned to believe that any large transfer receipt is automatically good business and a good outcome. Yeah okay, maybe if you're Brighton FC, but not Liverpool. We don't need that money to progress, we need our best players.

Look I understand about the perils about losing our best players but we're no talking about stevie g here or Suarez
Couthino is tied into a 5 yr contract with no release fee so we hold all the cards now I'm not saying we have to sell. we don't. but here's a thing a lot of reds we're openly saying recently if Barcelona come in for £85/ 90 million you have to let him go. but now after the neymar situation why not push for double that surely that's good business receiving 35% above a players market value. giving klopp free reign to strengthen the squad were he sees fit for a season involving both PL and CL you can't build a team around one man these days spurs have coped without bale and united have sold the likes of Ronaldo and beckham . after losing stevie g we have still made progress so let's not get carried away by thinking the departure of couthino will make the wheels fall off . jurgens a very shrewd man !

So who would you buy with 90m, Readingred, considering the transfer window is over soonish?

To be honest I think harry Wilson should be utilised a lot more he has been one of our most exciting and consistent u23's. the way the market is no one is valued correctly everyone is inflated . however oxlade chamberlain is someone who is of the right pedigree to fit the bill . providing we can successfully cut a deal.
