Hi eds. Really big ask here.
I manage a U12s football team in mold north wales. We're a self funded team as we are the only age group in the club (sychdyn juniors) . We are holding a race night, raffle and auction to raise much needed funds for the lads. Would any of the eds have any idea which football clubs are generous with donating prizes and how we would go about asking.
Thanks.

{Ed001's Note - if you are in Mold try Michael Owen and, a better bet to be honest, the Speed family. Gary Speed's dad is an absolute diamond and he will be sure to help. He does loads for charity and loves football. As for football clubs, Everton and Man Utd are the best, both have links on their websites for a way to get charity donations. Waste of time speaking to Liverpool, they are corporate arses and will only donate to their 'chosen partners'.}

Hi ash
I also run a u12's team and I can understand where your coming from mate in being self funded. I'd hate to think of how much of my own money has been put in so far.
Hardest thing is finding a sponsor for a football kit. All of the cooperations that have thousands to millions and they all say no!

All the very best for the race night mate. I hope it's a major success and fair play to you for running the team.
All of the millions of pounds that are mentioned on here alone and we forget that the kids at grassroots level

Anything I can do, be sure to reply and were swap emails.

Thanks all. We have just had coats from the speed foundation. Carol speed came to watch us play, which was an honour. Michael Owen doesn't do much for the local teams. It's the cost of the pitch and winter training which is roughly £1000 and then constant replenishment of equipment and courses for the coaches. We thought the subs would easily cover the costs but nowhere near.
My email for anyone that can help.
ashdec1@Gmail. Com thanks again.

Sad to hear Ashy
Certainly when I was playing for Broughton Supersaints and Hawarden Rangers - Sychdyn always had loads of teams.

I would certainly give all both the Merseyside and Manchester teams a try

Other option is to have guest speaker event, certainly recall one by Kevin Ratcliffe and it made a lot of dosh.

Good luck ashy.

Here's another suggestion. Buy some merchandise from the club shop and ask the club to get players to sign it. The auction the item.
It's value will increase greatly depending on the shirt and the signature. e. g. Get a 2005 shirt and ask Gerrard to sign it and Rafa Benitez? I'm sure Rafa would be generous.

Thanks everyone for the info. I will hunt for the contact details for the clubs charity department and see who will be willing to help. Also a big thanks to Tilly2479 for his donation of a raffle prize.
