Hi guys, How is Danny Ward getting on at Huddersfield? I know he started well, but I'm sure Carra posted up that he's been looking a bit shaky lately (apologies if it was someone else! ) .

From people who have seen him play, is he in the conversation to be 1 or 2 for us, or is he not at that level?

Hi Zeddicus,

I've been commentating on Town at home games this season and have been posting Danny Ward updates after matches.

To answer your question, I'd say that his form has dipped and peaked with Huddersfield's really. Whilst he hasn't got the best of clean sheet ratios, he's been generally solid if you ask me, bar the odd blip! He does lack that experience and consistency, but that will come with more game time of course.

For me he's not at a level to be our No1 but he's a good No2 option.

For me selling Mignolet and using Ward as Karius' backup would be the best option!

His shot stopping has at times been excellent - he's looked most vulnerable when left exposed by Town's back four - he's not the best sweeper keeper, so to speak!

His kicking isn't the best but not the worst either, whilst he is commanding of his area for crosses if you ask me.

I will post more about him as the season goes on - I think it would be best to judge him when he's gained as much experience as possible!

Hope that answers your question Zeddicus!

Thanks very much for that Reid. I do think that 2 No 1s doesn't really work well, doesn't really give the confidence to either keeper. Most recently, we had the Kirkland/ Dudek rivalry which unfortunately was answered through Kirkland's injuries.

I think Karius with Ward as backup sounds decent, if Danny is indeed happy to be a LT No 2, a modern day Mike Hooper!

Spot on, Reid. I think Ward has been solid overall, but not much more than that. Karius will get his opportunities to prove himself as Klopp thinks he`s the future and his issues are to me, adaptation issues relating to a new league and it`s physical and mental demands. Migs is not the answer and never was because if that was the case, Karius wouldn`t be here. A Karius/ Ward combo as 1 and 2, wouldn`t be a bad shout. As for those calling for a top class GK, those like Navas, DDG, Oblak, Lloris, are all taken and NO, Joe Hart is pants. Therefore, you create your own and Klopp will do that with Karius.
