People moaning about others moaning a lot today.
Just got to say in no way I think the tie is over. But it's a terrible result for us, and we should have put a little pressure on them. They barely caused a problem, we didn't have to go all out, with Lucas sitting in front of the back four, we should have been able to keep it tight.
But we showed very little attacking intent, and when you have this away goal rule, and you have the chance to attack a little you should. We had more chances away at Dortmund, and Villarreal are no where near that level.

The only thing that i think was the mistake klopp made was not bringing on a striker earlier it was crying out loud for a striker so if it was me i would of brought on sturridge instead of ibe.

Time for a bit of reality and perspective. We had 3 very good chances to score Joe Allen should have scored no argument. Firminos' shot that hit the post was more than a half chance, the goalie actually made a decent save, and all Moreno had to do was square it and Ibe would have had a tap in. We had just as many chances to score as Villareal, so if we score one of them and it nobody would be giving out about Klopp. I was just as disappointed as anyone when the final whistle blew. I would have started Sturridge, I agree with most posters that Villareal were there for the taking. Ibe Lallana Firmino
all played poorly but with the injuries we have what are the alternatives. The reality is we played in the semi-final of a European competition and were more than a match for the opposition and that is without Can, Sakho, Henderson, Origi so it should not be all doom and gloom. Klopp has already brought us to that level without signing a player. I thought Lovren was motm last night aand has been playing very well for a while, I would also give Toure another year. For the 2nd leg I would start Sturridge and put Firmino in Lallanas position. The only postion we need strenghtening in the summer is Goalkeeper imo (as well as the 2 already bought)

Spot on, Brendan (Rodgers? ) . We should have scored and I too believe that they were there for the taking but alas, it didn`t happen. Klopp has made us relevant again and should we make the final and dare I say, win it, might as well carve a JK bust and put it infornt of Anfield as that would be the most improbable European victory in our history, apart from Istanbul as he would have done it in spite of injuries and a team he didn`t build of which many players have been slated. The truth is that 1-0 to us or 0-0 would not have changed much because the tie would still be in the balance. Remember we beat Stoke on the road 0-1 in the LC semis first leg. Remind me how we made the final, again? Exactly. Nothing is decided and I disagree, Fencey as a 1-0 loss away in a European semi final is NOT a terrible result as we have overcome worse than that (Dortmund aside) . Let us get ready for the second leg and give them hell like we did to Dortmund.
