I would love to hears the Eds views on Jamie Carragher - as a player and his impact at LFC. Apologies if this has already been done. I did look. made my eyes hurt though.

{Ed001's Note - hard to judge him really, I loved him as a player, but he was not really of the level of the 80s, for instance. What he did was put his heart and soul into the team every time he played. He may not have been captain, but he was a leader on the pitch for the side. Just a shame he didn't have that little bit extra ability to go with his willingness to give it all for the cause.

Having said that, he did have more ability on the ball than he was ever given credit for. He could have easily made his career in midfield, if things had been different.}

Thanks for the reply Ed001 - I agree, I can't fault the man's effort and commitment, but for me he seemed to struggle a lot at fullback and always appeared to slow the game down going forward. I also remember him giving Arbeloa a proper rollicking one game and shoving him around. I thought that was strange, especially as the guy was a full Spain international and went on to play for Real, so obviously knew what he was doing!

{Ed001's Note - that was more because Arbeloa was being an arse off the pitch and was trying to force his way out of the club.}

I think he loves the game too much to sit on the sidelines. Hard to believe, but he did score on debut and almost got a cracker in his final game.
