Morning ed

Do you no why Ibe has been left out squad last 4 or so games?

{Ed001's Note - just to get him out of the firing line as his confidence is low and the fans are on his back.}

Is there any reason to start with the eds they do a great job i dontpost often hope the few don't ruin it for the rest as this is the best football rumours site by far not a load of recyled garbage without any knowledge of what is happening.

Feel for him after all the effort he put in in the summer, training with dalglish etc.
he seemed to start the season over-trying, and with that not working, his form and confidence suffered considerably.
He needs to be coached the game properly so he makes the right choices in games.
Can you see him making it at Liverpool ed001? Seems a long way away right now I have to admit but it's obvious the talent is there.

{Ed001's Note - yes he will make it, he is working hard and improving, so he will get there I think. The lad has talent.}

I think Ibe is going through the exact same issue Sterling went through in his second season, he's thinking too much about what he's going to do rather than doing what comes naturally to him, the pressure of actually creating something and not losing the ball is making him doubt what he's doing and ultimately making him screw up.
Fortunately he has a great manager and coaching staff behind him who will work with him and improve all aspects of his game, what we as fans must not do is get on his back like we did with Sterling, support the lad.

Mates tend to forget that he is just a kid.

There's a brilliant article by Paul Tompkins about Ibe, if you can find it online at all. Mentions his age and the fact that he is actually doing pretty well in his development, as well as urging people not to get on his back.
Personally like the player, but feel he needs to have a slightly more 'nasty' streak. Appears to lack the nastiness or selfishness, or maybe just the arrogance, that may take him up a level or 2.
Don't get me wrong, I don't want him becoming the new Zlatan or that (! ), just feel he could benefit from not being so 'nice' on the pitch and being a little more selfish?
Apologies if that doesn't make the most sense; hard to explain exactly what I mean!

I have expressed my (skeptical) view about Ibe's qualities here enough times and I don't want to repeat it. I hope for him and for us I am wrong and that when he becomes older and more exprienced he improves.

I just object the idea that his problem is lack of confidence or second season syndrum (he had the same problems last year) and definitley that nonsense that he is not selfish enough (I watched him closely on the replay against West Ham, there wasn't one ball in the whole first half that was passed to him that he passed on to any of his team mates. Not one! ) . I think for him to be succesful he has to change some basic aspects of his game. Less dribbling, more passing and crossing, looking forward to see other players and not just on how to overtake the next defender. I read in the Echo aritcle about him that these are the kind of instructions he was given by Klopp and this is a step in the right direction in my view.

Excuse me mate, but that 'nonsense' about him being selfish is not 'nonsense'! (Super offended here! Haha! )
I am not simply referring to 'selfish' as in he needs to be more greedy with the ball; I mean he needs to have more desire, drive and hunger for himself, if you like.
As mentioned earlier, I don't want a player who thinks he's above the team or that, but I honestly do think he is too 'nice' on the pitch for his own good.
I also don't want a dirty player who tries to injure others, but I do sometimes thing Ibe would benefit from rattling someone and not being so quick to want to shake hands with opponents after challenges.
Again, this might not seem like the best elaboration of my thoughts, and hopefully I'll hit the nail on the head one day soon!
I'd just like to see a bit more of a mean streak in Jordon, as to me he appears a bit passive and too mellow at the minute?

stick ibe in a quality team on his wavelength and you will see his confidence rise. The only time ibe has started its been in average teams where its only been him and firmino that look to make something happen. Ibe has looked quality when he plays with good players, really adds a dimension to our team.
