I listened to Tim Sherwood yesterday in an interview whilst on his pre season tour. He absolutely said he wanted and expected Benteke to stay. Then went on to say how he would love Adebayour but the club cannot afford him at this time?

This says to me as most interviews by managers do at a point in time where a top player is on the verge of a big offer that Benteke is definitely going, but he has to show to the media that he is staying and that the money he gets will pay for Adebayour.

Villa will except £26-£28 million because they need the money!!

Sherwood has an over inflated view of his ability. I will be surprised he lasts the season.

Adebayour will cost about 5 mil at most. Spurs can't wait to get them off their books. It's his wages that are the issue.
