Two bad results and Rodgers slaters back out of the woodwork. In my opinion we have about the 5th best squad in the league so we are about right realistically. We haven't been able to get the players in Rodgers wanted which would have enabled us to compete with those above. Sanchez, Costa, willian etc. I don't blame the manager for that more the fact we can't compete wages wise. I still see the future as bright but we are dependent on keeping the talented young players we have. This season isn't done yet so let's get behind everyone including the manager and keep fighting.

But it's not 2 bad games really is it! What about the first part of the season that has landed LFC in this position. It's not just about the run since Christmas, it's the whole season so far most fans are unhappy with.

A good manager is worth points on his own and would get more out of a fifth best squad and overachieve. A good manager would also have plans B C and D up his sleeve

I tend to agree our squad can't match Chelsea, Man City, Man Utd or Arsenal, however most of those have also played some rubbish football this year and Liverpool should be in a better position than we are now, we have some of the best young players in the league and we've been badly outplayed against the top sides a few times now (with the exception of City of course).

My biggest frustration is Rogers insistence on playing some very odd combinations and the rubbish that comes out of his mouth sometimes. There have been many points this year when it's clear it's not working and he's insisted on playing some of the weaker players over and over (Allen, Balo, Lovren), and people out of position (Sterling and Hendo at RWB).

I think we have the bones of an amazing young side that can grow to be great, but we need to have Rogers set a direction and I'm starting to worry he doesn't have it.

It's not 2 bad games, it's that we're now relying on Man U to end the season extremely poorly to get to the top 4, which is the minimum for me to even consider that a Liverpool manager in his third year at the club should stay.

The seeds for that were sown at the start of the season, with a combination of poor tactics, poor team selections, a couple of signings that may ultimately come good but weren't what we really needed at the time, and one signing in a key area who has a been a complete disaster.

Think our squad is much better then given credit for but regardless of that:

We spent a fortune this summer and since rodgers signed so if we have a poor squad then he has wasted a fortune.

Added to that if everyone has better squads, they couldn't have done more to give us a chance to get fourth and we have played just as poorly.

We did lose our best player last season, aswell as that our best remaining finisher has not been fit all season. If you look at net spend we have spent nothing in comparison to the clubs above us. All i'm saying is if we lose out on our top targets to our competitors who pay more in wages and spend more in fees then It would be difficult for any manager to compete. The teams that attract the best players will always have the best chance. We have struggled to get in the ones the manager wanted and have had to buy young talent rather than ready made finished articles. With that strategy we going to have to give the players more time. The teams above us managed to attact Sanchez, Di Maria, Costa, Fabregas etc to add to the Hazards Silva toure's Rooneys etc of this world.
It isn't easy for me to admit it but we can't compete in the Market for whatever reason and i know how Pissed off Rodgers is aw we constantly lose out on targets to other clubs.
