Ron k my last post was despairing at all the negativity on here we are fourth after a veryvtoughvstart. We can't blow teams away every game it was a good point considering the crest of the weekendcresults.

Well, it didn't take that long for the negative nellies to start throwing the baby out with the bath water. Someone must have forgotten to remind them that had we won, NOTHING would have been decided yet and we still would have won nothing yet. We are fourth, three points and three goals ahead of Utd and three off City after playing a tough schedule. We are still in the race and nothing has changed as the other teams including Utd for that matter, screwed up. On to West Brom this weekend, a team we have had consistent issues with and just as tough an opponent as Utd.

I think the term 'negativity' is over-used on here. There are plenty of things to be critical about in that performance but ultimately a draw was probably fair. Its not negative to point out areas we could have improved on to get a win.
I thought both defences were pretty sound which is why there wasnt much goalmouth action. Utds nine-man defence restricted us well and De Geas fingertips were the only real reason we didn't turn 65% possession into a win.
At the other end, i still haven't seen anything to suggest Karius is an improvement on Migs (calm down, that's not a bash) but the fact that he has rarely been able to show his keeping ability in recent games suggests to me that our defence have improved hugely in restricting other teams' chances.
Average game, fair result, room for improvement.

Not sure how could you say everyone who has a point Negative? UTD came for a point and successfully went back with a point. How on earth could a Liverpool supporter be happy about it? The first half was a dire and we did not test DDG at all, Did we?

{Ed001's Note - we kept a clean sheet for the first time this season, surely that is something to be happy about? It is the first time in 4 matches we have not lost to Man Utd, another something to be happy about. We have not lost ground to the leaders, again a reason to be happy. Overall, despite the woeful performance, I think we have good reason to be happy as Liverpool fans right now. The very fact that it is a disappointment not to beat a team with the world's most expensive player in it should be a reason to be happy.}

I walked away feeling like we'd lost last night, United really were there for the taking, if only we could have been a bit more insisive. We didn't look sharp, maybe the international break disrupted the fluidity a bit.

Having said that, reading your comments Ed1 have given me a much more positive outlook this morning, 100% spot on! Considering the tough start, if you'd have said we'd be sitting two points off the top having played Arsenal, Chelsea, Spurs and United i'd have taken thstvall day long.

{Ed001's Note - exactly mate, we are in a good position and have every reason to be happy as fans, despite the performance. Sometimes you need these kind of games to keep everyone on their game. It stops overconfidence creeping in and keeps everyones' feet on the ground.}

Look at the post match comments from the managers:

Jose can't stop talking about LFC and celebrating a point, praising his team who had 35% possession and relied on 2 great saves to keep them in it.
Klopp only talking about how disappointed he was with our performance and how we can do better.

Their reactions say it all. We have come a long way in 12 months. Onwards and upwards! 😎.

What do you think of this idea that United 'won' a point? I don't buy it. 'Good' draws can only be justified by your league position, and they are 7th, 3 points off fourth with a very tough upcoming schedule in comparison to their rivals. If they draw at Chelsea next week too and everyone else wins, is that also a 'good' draw, just because it was at Stamford Bridge, despite the fact they're even further behind the top 4 with Arsenal, Everton and Spurs still to come?

Spot on Ed and Nick Bruce. I don`t know what some fans were expecting but they must be living in some alternate reality. Overall, we have good reasons to be happy with where we are. Would these negative fans like to trade places with the Utd fans, whose team is 7th, 1 win in 5 and staring down the barrell at a very tough schedule? Didn`t think so just stuff your negative comments and get out of the way because the wheels on the bus or progress are moving progressively.
