if it was me i would play benteke with sturridge or origi

he might not be having the best season for us but you don't lose that threat he is.

He's an emotional dude. Like everything it life, it has its downsides. Not a massive deal though.

{Ed002's Note - No, not a massive deal but nonetheless it was unprofessional. You may do better than look for excuses for Klopp when he plays the little johnny jerk-off role.}

It's not an excuse, just an observation linking his behaviour to his personality.

{Ed002's Note - Does that excuse him being unprofessional then?}

Really depends on what he was saying. It looked like he was giving him a roasting but I would reserve judgement until I knew what was said so passionately.

Extrovert managers have in the past shown levels of un-professionalism. Mourinho being a key culprit, poking opposition managers in the face, taking the laws of medic into his own hands and abusing his own staff. Klopp was out of order.

{Ed002's Note - Sorry, I had forgotten it has to be about someone else. Embarrassing yet again.}

I've had far worse off bosses before in public. If he can't handle criticism when he is highly paid and has put in zero effort then he should find a new profession.

{Ed002's Note - It is embarrassing how you, even with your experience of being castigated in public, can come up with justification for what is complete unprofessionalism by Klopp. If it were Rodgers doing the same you would be all over him. Liverpool's reputation continues to be tarnished by these sort of antics.}

Like I said, not an excuse. Just an explanation of why it's rather unsurprising.

it would of been interesting to know what was said.

i wonder how Klopp would handle benteke for the rest of the season after this?

i understand in the moment he was probably not thinking about the cameras etc and that but i do agree what ever was said should of waited for behind closed doors. as a manager you have to act professional and in the moment Klopp didn't.

ed002 is correct if Rodgers did this then he would of been jumped on but because klopp is so liked none of us would jump on him.

{Ed001's Note - sorry but that's crap. We were on Rodgers back because he failed to ball out his players, instead he was 'professional' and backed them no matter how lazy and useless they were. Klopp has tried talking to him behind the scenes and it has had no effect, so it is not 'unprofessional' to drag him over the coals publicly when you are unable to sack someone.

Benteke brought it on himself. His laziness and unprofessional attitude has happened publicly and so he got a public dressing down. Shearer hasn't a clue, he showed how little he understood man-management in his shambolic and pathetic attempt at managing Newcastle. He expected players to just have his pride and desire to play for the team and couldn't cope when they didn't. That is why he is sat in a studio talking crap, instead of on the sidelines managing.

There was nothing unprofessional other than Benteke's laziness and lack of personal pride.}

you are right Ed001 benteke is lazy and dosent have that pride for himself more than anything. it reminds me of the whole balotelli situation in the sense of can't be bothered, not listening to what the coach wants. i agreed with rodgers being jumped on because nobody ever wanted rodgers here and we all want klopp here if that makes sense.

benteke and balotelli have so much potential but for some reason just don't deliver on center stage. is benteke more suited to the lower teams so he looks good?

It's a *little* unprofessional, but not worth the scrutiny over whether it was right or wrong. Benteke deserved it anyway. As ed001 said, he's brought this all upon himself, and if Klopp feels like he's had no other choice but to dress him down in public then the problem is Benteke, not Klopp. If that's as unprofessional as Klopp gets then that's fine by me. Other successful managers have done worse.

Nothing unprofessional about it, IMO and Ed01 is spot on. We have seen this happen before with managers and players in the past but now, it`s an issue because Klopp did it. Do you see Simeone doing that at Atleti? No. Why? NONE of his players would dare do what CB is doing as in, NOT trying and being lazy and trust me, Simeone would have let that player know it (f not verbally, physically), so why should Klopp have to deal with such nonsense? Benteke`s attitude stinks based on reports, and if indeed Klopp may had word after word with him behind closed doors but clearly if it is not having an effect on him, then he gets exactly what he deserves in public or private as I, like Klopp, have no time for "Scrubs" (American sports lingo for slackers) . The fact that he missed the chance is not the issue for me because Studge and Allen (especially who missed a sitter that would have killed the game) ) missed as well bBUT unlike Benteke, their attitude especially that of Allen, is NEVER called into question. That is what IMO, Klopp has had enuff of. N BTW, Klopp has dressed down others like Firmino (at the Etihad), Moreno (vs Man Utd in the EL game) and Milner (at the Etihad) and didn`t hear a peep out of the so called "pudits/ experts" BUT suddenly, it is a problem. Remember, CB had the very same attitude at Villa but no one called him out on it because well, it`s Villa. I like a manager with a bit of passion and backbone as well as honesty so to those saying it was unprofessional, give over and get over yourselves. Klopp openly shows his love when he`s happy with the players and shows his distaste when they screw up over and over again, all in the open so for me, there`s nothing to see here. Rather him doing that than BR, who was well, "professional" while we were getting hammered during games. Listen guys, pro sports is a man`s game and if you can`t handle being chewed out by your coach once in a while, then go get another career and leave the MEN out on the pitch to do the job. N BTW, nobody knows what was said verbatim so all should just chill out.

i love klopp as much as the next lfc fan but what he did was not cool. people need to forget about how much money benteke earns or if he deserves a rollocking. it should be done out of sight of anyone. in no circumstances would it be ok for a boss to do that in an office infront of everyone. whether it goes on or not is irrelevant sorry.

{Ed001's Note - there are circumstances when it is ok. Sorry but this is not an office, you can't just give written warnings and sackings when people are not doing as they should in football. It is not an office.}
