Ed001 mate, how’s it going? Hope all is well on your end. Want to ask you re Diaz. Have you noticed any changes in his play this season and if it’s “trained” into him?

The reason why I’m asking is I do feel his play is different now compared to when he first joined; seems more, I don’t know, predictable now? Of course the injuries and the personal issues are no help but he seemed to be less adventurous, if it’s the right term, right now.

I’ve never been a big Jota fan but this season I think his all round game has improved but he does seem to offer more goals than Diaz who I think he just try’s to do too much most of the time with no end product he seems the total opposite of Salah and mane who who where so direct.

{Ed001's Note - it is not that simple, it depends on form and the opposition as to who is best to start. On form Diaz is the best we have there, though Gakpo on his Eredivisie left wing form would probably have the nod over him.}

These things happen cos we sometimes forget that these forwards compete with themselves which could explain why Diaz may be struggling cos he is trying to do too much. We all remember how Sadio and Mo were competitors while playing in the same team cos they were both justling to be the best while competing for the African Player Of The Year as well at the time.

IMO, Diaz will be back and let's not forget the mental and psychological ordeal he and his family are recovering from at this time. Let's just give it time.

Lamborini I get what your saying with Diaz’s personal life but even before that am not sold on him as with all are new forwards.
They all look world betters one week the the next offer nothing. We seems to be even more reliant on Salah now than ever and the last two games he has been very poor by his standards but has still won us the game with a goal and two assists.

I honestly think diaz has his heart set on Barcelona and that's fine sell and replace he is regressing in a very important area of the pitch .

I'm not sold on Diaz. Too inconsistent since he's been at the club. Can be excellent one day anonymous the next.

@Redflyer, he tends to be excellent when we play and a bit more anonymous when we don’t have a game.

@Hailstones that seems to be about 4 or 5 first team starters that are regressing which is odd when you consider we are top of the league. Let’s hope the regression Carrie’s on through the second half of the season eh?
