If you're good enough you're old enough. If we signed Gavi from Barcelona everyone would be creaming themselves. Baj, albeit not quite at that level yet, looks more than capable to me.

We are trying to bring in one more mid and one more defender but not all deals are easy or get done before pre season. Stick it with it Ed's and reds as the recruitment team are all over it - let's keep our fingers crossed the players they want can be taken over the line.

However if our starting mid, whilst waiting for new players, is Baj, AMac and Dom I'd be more than excited to see how they get on.

And what when one of there three gets injured? Or even Two? The reason we lost all those leagues to city was we never had a quality in depth.

1jj, the thing is not all players are ‘old enough’ at the same age. Baj looked the goods but he only started a very small number of games. Hopefully pre-season he shines and he is a starter but there’s no plan b, as yet, if he isn’t ready.

1jj, I wouldn't be creaming myself for Gavi or whatever player we sign cos Im not built that way. As for Gavi coming in, great young player but I am not sure how he would measure up with the physicality and pace of the PL.

As for Baj, I rate him very much cos he is excellent on the ball, can play on the half turn, press-resistant, technically sound, and his passing range is pretty solid and he also knows the system, something . That said, I do not think he can start and play 25 games for us like Fab can cos he ain't ready yet, IMO. So like you, let's hope we get the players we want and go from there.

Titanic - appropriate user name with that outlook. Read my post again and you’ll see I state that we are looking for other players before the window shuts just don’t worry if they’re not done before pre season.

I also think his resistance to "creaming" for the slightest reason is highly commendable. ??.
