Question for ED001 if you're around. I was chatting with a mate about the best CM's in the game at the moment and so decided to look at your lists of top 10 players in the various midfield positions and was surprised to see that Thiago wasn't featured on any of the lists.

Do you think he is a top 10 player in his position? Based on the (albeit limited) games I've seen him play, it seems like he is definitely up there and would make any team better.

Although I do see the concerns about how he might fit in to our system, how do you rate him as a player and do you think he would work as a Klopp player?

(All purely hypothetical of course and don't want to jinx anything! )

{Ed001's Note - the reason he missed out was simply because I couldn't decide which position to put him in. He can play behind the attacker or in front of the defence. So there are 3 position from AM to CM to DM that he could be chosen for and I couldn't decide which he was best at.}

Nice one! Thanks for the reply. Was interesting discussing with my mate how few superstar midfielders we could name that weren't towards the end of their careers. It definitely feels like the game has evolved away from teams needing the box-to-box all-action midfielder which is a shame having grown up on a diet of the Gerrards, Lampards, Vieras and Keanes of this world.

{Ed001's Note - not sure which one you mean. There is the top 10 central midfielders or the top 10 defensive/holding midfielders or even the top 10 attacking midfielders article. They are probably all a little out of date by now though.}
