Hi all I know finances isn’t always a difficult subject as a lot of us, myself included, have played football manager and fifa and don’t know the true financial implications of how much a transfer costs and how much a club actually receives for a player.

A rounded number released by the media doesn’t tell the full story.

I know we usually laugh off twitter but the below link is a breakdown of Liverpool’s financial results 2016/ 17.

Main things to point out debt is going up and so is revenue but this doesn’t include the large outgoings for last window.

I think what Ed has been trying to explain is that we can’t just go out and buy a £50m player because we want him, we have to manage the spend as we are trying to live within our financial means.

Our wage bill is high! We have managed to move on some of our squad players who weren’t in the long term picture but still new contracts to the front 3 will cost money.

Ultimately do I really want us to buy a massive signing, of course I do! But do I think it’s sensible to? Probably not as the Ed’s repeatedly say the owners have pumped money into the club recently to push to win the league, it is not going to happen regularly!

Anyways everyone we are top of the league so stop being rude and insulting to the Ed’s or other people, we are Liverpool and we are one! Macca i know you mean no harm but you have a cult following on here so anything you say will be taken as gospel!

Vive la Liverpool!

I asked a question about our finances, didn't mention any signings.

Cheers

Macca.

I wasn’t trying to focus on signing. I appreciate discussing finance is difficult as you have to have a certain understanding of numbers and account for costs that aren’t basic knowledge e. g how much a player cost.

Everyone needs to realise we have increasing debt levels and higher wage bills, as Ed has said we have overpaid for a number of signings due Klopp being A grade a ****.

I find it fascinating not just Liverpool but how companies are run, it’s very easy to get lost in the moment of football but ultimately these are businesses and they are all ultimately trying to be sustainable (or maybe not)
