ED001/ ED002
Love your work guys, without you I would be lost regarding football news/ updates.

Question: In reference to the Anfield Rd end stadium expansion, I believe once completed this will bring the stadium capacity to approx 60,000 if it goes through. Do you see Anfield at some stage possibly going to 80 or even 90,000 on par with United?

When building a new stadium due to the amount of debt involved I guess its natural for the cash flow on transfers to be conservative.
Do you see Spurs and Chelsea following the same footsteps of Arsenal?
It seemed once they left Highbury to the Emirates stadium, they weren't able to spend $$ on transfers like they once did, therefore the teams form had dipped.
It does seem Chelsea spending has already tightened prior to the stadium being built.

Love to get your thoughts
Cheers lads.

{Ed001's Note - it is not that simple. First the area around the stadium has to have a revamp. The transport infrastructure is incapable of coping with any more than 60k. The local council does have plans to improve the transport links, as part of a 'facelift' to the area, in conjunction with LFC, which will make it possible to go bigger. However the stadium will always be limited by the amount the area around it can handle.}

The chat that I'd heard was that the original plans for the"up and over" Anfield Road revamp could be altered to include a corporate level/ s that would effectively pay for that new stand. This would take the overall capacity up to around 60,000 and the planning considerations that Ed001 outlined.
The problem thereafter would be that the Kop stand would be much the smallest in height and would not be the imposing spectacle that everyone wants it to be.

There is a run down old stadium across the park that could be put to better use by converting it into a train station and tarmaccing over the turf to make way for a new car park?
