So Macca has dropped the name of Butland.

I understand the move by the club, I personally think he is an upgrade on Migs. He has just been relegated with Stoke (albeit a poor Stoke side) and now has the chance to compete for No1 at a team competing for top four/ hopefully more! He is used to the premier league and Butland will believe he can take the jersey from Karius. Karius will be happy as he has improved competition but someone he also believes he can keep the jersey from.

If a 'world class' keeper was available then we should of tried to go for them, which I think we have but maybe Alisson has a better offer elsewhere. And we were never going to get the Donnarumma.

So we are getting competition for our No1 jersey, two keepers who are now used to the PL and are also willing to compete with each other rather than someone who might just be happy to see out their career and collect the wage.

My preference would be to promote Ward to No2 but the lad will have his own ambitions and I suspect his patience has run out after being behind in the pecking order to Migs.

So I say trust the club and let two young keepers prove they deserve the no1 jersey.

Salah surprised, the Ox surprised. And Andy Robertson surprised. When are you guys going to trust our recruitment team. Karius has even started to impress and Klavan. All were doubted and slated. Even the lad solanke. He was brilliant today. His movement and inter-play was impressive.

I think butland is an improvement. He will have to fight for the shirt but I believe he has more potential than loris. (sorry loris, I do love you man and have fought your corner this season) if you think butland has come, entering his prime to be a back up player you are mistaken. Think of it from Jack's perspective. A highly rated, young English keeper, in the international squad and will start games for England. More often once he has the European champions no1 shirt. He ain't coming to warm the bench, trust. Trust in klopp.
