Love that story about the United players, and fair play on the mother for recognising the greater good - young players will occasionally do daft things, and can be lead astray, it requires strong management and influence from others to curb those behaviours. Out of curiosity ED do you know how the younger members of the squad at Liverpool are thought of in terms of their character and off the field activities?
Are they generally held in positive regard or are there issues us fans may be unaware of? I'm just very curious, if you cannot answer don't sweat it.

{Ed001's Note - Klopp likes to give youngsters a bit more freedom and treat them like adults, but expects them to act professionally in return. Those who do misbehave quickly find themselves on the outside looking in. The kids are pointed towards Milner as an example to follow and generally they take notice, or so it is believed anyway. Obviously it is impossible to be 100% sure.}

Thanks for the response ED, it's nice to hear that the manager gives the players freedom but still sets boundaries - also shows the importance of James Milner, not only as a player, but as a professional. Very excited by the squad we are creating, long may it continue.

{Ed001's Note - having solid pros makes a huge difference.}

That is absolutely disgusting regarding Michael Oliver's family, there's some weirdos out there, why do people have to go so far, it's just wrong. There's been angry, sure we can all get angry at a refs decision, then there's been sick in the head, wtf is with these people.

Salah - It's way beyond weird and sick; it's criminal. The man was simply doing his job to the best of his knowledge and ability. We all (and can) make mistakes (if that's the case here) . I can understand people not liking a football result, but it's only football in the end. Taking it to such exteremes is criminal.

I’ve just read a book on Souness called Football my life, my passion. One thing he goes on about time and again is the need of having solid pros, they set the standard for youngsters coming through, they set the culture of the club and the team for the others to follow, that way youngsters are accountable for their own actions but with examples to learn from. He talks about this as one of the reasons for Liverpool’s success when he was there as the staff would have a go at the senior pros if the youngsters were stepping out of line, they would see it as them not caring enough or letting standards slip.

{Ed001's Note - very true mate. The senior pros should be involved, they should be on hand to guide the youngsters.}
