What is all this talk about Phil going and lemar coming in in January? Aren’t they both cup tied for the CL or have I got that wrong?

Just a question for the ED's on this. Why does it matter if a player has previously played in the competition for another team? Players go from team to team in the January window in the same league and can play away. Just curious.

{Ed002's Note - They are the rules. Lemar has played in the CL for Monaco so he is forbidden from playing for Liverpool.}

The rule is there for a reason. let's just say that Liverpool didn't get out of the group stage. Can you imagine the amount of clubs still in the CL who would be after Coutinho, Firminio, Salah Mane etc offering them CL football. All clubs knocked out of the CL would really struggle to hold on to their best players.
