If it's true it's a bad move unless we are holding out for and expecting more.

Coutinho is not irreplaceable and we could get some much needed strength in depth with that kind of cash.

Meyer and Insigne are both capable of filling his shoes and would still leave us with enough to buy a couple more 'A' list players that would give us a bench to match Cite, Manure and Chelski.

Why can't we buy A list players without selling him?

He wants to leave. Barcelona's offered more than he's worth, so we should sell and move on.
He is a great player, but he wants to go and play for Barcelona. I honestly can't see the point of forcing a player to stay.113 million come on. Sell him. Let the lad have his dream move.

OP, you are missing the point. We can't sell him cos he already signed a five year deal and should have not signed it, taken the raise and (maybe) signing bonus that came with it, and then wanna jump ship 5 months later. That is just crazy. Also, if we sell him, good luck trying to unlock parked bosses in the PL and in the CL and making progress this season. We don't need the money and don't need to sell.

Most importantly, Insigne will not come as Napoli is trying to win the Serie A and Meyer is 3 years away from Cou's current level. And even if we were going to sell, every other club will not sell their best players, which leaves you with left overs like say Lanzini who normally a 30m player, will now become a 60m player cos every man and his dog knows we are flush with cash. See how that works? What use is 120m if you can't use it efficiently? These are the reasons you don't sell. If Barcelona were dumb enough to sell Neymar and are getting shafted right now by BVB, does not mean we should sell Cou.
