Everyone needs to get a sense of perspective here.

Footballers are professionals and for 99.999% of them their career and earnings come before loyalty to club.

I work in PR and have been with the same firm for several years. I have a great relationship with the gaffer and can't fault my workmates or workplace at all.

However if a bigger company was to come knocking tomorrow doubling my salary I would have little hesitation in moving since in my eyes this would be of greater benefit to myself and my family.

It really is that simple. Like it or loathe it football has moved on from the days of Sir Tom Finney and fans have to accept the new reality.

Play hardball with Barca, take the £100m and buy a replacement like Lanzini and move on.

Lanzini? Lol

That kind of strategy, "buy someone like" is exactly why players want to leave us and move to a bigger club!
