Ed, I thought it was VVD's representative who approached us? Hence why we went from not being interested to interested .

{Ed001's Note - doesn't matter. Once they do that we should have sought Saints' permission to talk to him. Clearly Saints believe that never happened. The issue is whether or not LFC believed the approach was made with Soton's blessing or not. I was under the impression that we thought they had authorised the approach. In which case why did no one make sure and get proof that they knew?}
