Klopp doesn't play the pathetic favorites game BR used to play. Every player gets a fair shot and if you can hack it, you stay. If you can't then off you go. Allen is in form and credit to him and Klopp to give him a chance.

That wasn't the full quote though was it? The other part of his comments about Allen being injured and then away on international duty would suggest that JK wasn't fully appraised / aware of Allen's [then] general fitness levels and potential.
