Recently watched a video compilation of every goal scored for us by Torres. What a player he was. My favourite player to watch that we've had in my lifetime. So clinical, no nasty side to his game, and just an all round wonderful role model.

He got some hate when he left but having learnt how poorly her was treated by some of the players he had to "cope" with I have a real sympathy for him. You could always tell he felt forced out and didn't really want to go to Chelsea.

Very good player at his best but Suarez was better. Torres is probably our best over transfer deal though as we sold him for fotune just when he totally lost it.

According to fanobip here, your new favourite player should be Suarez.

Torres was great but Suarez was better. Our two most recent title challenges came in year's where we had top class strikers in ridiculous scoring form. Coincidence?

Suarez was a better all round player I agree. Although Torres was the better goalscorer in his prime. Main reason I preferred watching Torres though is because for every great moment Suarez had, there was a nasty tackle, a racial slur, a dive, a handball, a bite etc. He was supremely talented, but he constantly put a shadow over his performance and made our club a laughing stock. Torres just seemed to love Liverpool and love scoring goals. That's why I was careful with my words and said I preferred watching Torres. He was just as exciting to watch even if he wasn't quite as talented as Suarez was.

I see your point, Torres avoided any scandal until he forced his way out. Torres and Gerrard 07/ 08 were a joy to watch, 54 goals between them.

Lucky enough and old enough to remember the team of the late eighties. Would take John Barnes in his pomp over either of them.

{Ed001's Note - I have to agree with you there, Barnes was incredible.}
