ED02 - any update on Nat Philips? Another who didn't travel with the squad to Germany but no sign of any deal agreed for him to leave.

Weird how there’s not lots of clubs chomping at the hit for Phillips. Seems like he would be an ideal signing for a few premier league clubs and any championship club with eyes on promotion.

I hope we don’t price him out of a move again and just let him go play football. Rather than not even make our bench all year again. Plenty of Championship teams would be interested at the right price.

OneKiss I get the sentiment of wanting him to get a career rather than be on the bench but the club has to maximize the amount we get we can't go on sentimental values mate. That being said in today's market for me he's a 20 million pound player.

£20 million player? What have you been smoking?! 5 mill at best, he’s hardly played for a year. He could have been sold for maybe 10 mill two years ago when he did an awesome job of covering for us. He deserves a move and not be priced out of it, eg 20 mill, else he’ll just go for nothing next summer.

I’d certainly keep him above Matip jam and think there’s space for him in the squad with this new system. That said if we keep Matip / sign another CN he needs to go. Pointless not letting him start his career. It’s not like he’s a kid either the lad is 26ish!

According to Transfermarkt Nat’s transfer value is rated at €4m.

He is 26 and has 2 years left on his contract. He has played 19 games for Liverpool having been at the club since 2016. All things being equal he’ll be lucky to reach 25 games for us before his contract ends in b2025.

The lad needs to leave if he wants to play regular competitive football and Liverpool should let him go as his value isn’t going to rise particularly if he doesn’t get game time. Keeping him as a 5th (perhaps 6th with Quansah now in the picture) doesn’t serve anybody.
