On the chance that Cardif's defender Morrison missed with an open goal header, I heard Klopp in his post game comments, said the ref told him he would have disallowed the goal due to an obstruction foul on Alison by Gunnarsson. Is this true?

You can choose to take Klopp's word for it, or not. Unless someone out here knows the ref and can ask him. 😎.

I think that Joe Gomez might get a start today and TAA will be rested. Gomez at CH and Milner at RB maybe Origi will get another start.

TAA will most likeley get rested. If Im not miskaten he started the last 10 games. But, yes, the question is if Matip will drop out for Gomez at CB or will Gomez will be welcomed back as a rb.

Take a bow Joel Matip. great performance today and deservedly given MOTM.

What a game it is for us tomorrow now. A thumping win would be perfect. And it will be interesting to see the side United field against Everton. If it is what can be deemed as thier strongest 11 at the start then they will rotate against City and have thier strongest 11 back for the game against Chelsea next weekend. Really looking forward to our game, keeping it down to 9 or 10 of course.

Well I think that result ties the league up for me. I don’t believe any of the remaining teams can/ will take points from city.
But silver lining is I believe we beat Barcelona and beat who ever we meet in the final of the champs league.

Thoughts?

I don't even think we played that well this season up till now. Next season we are going to be frightening. probably going to be another man city and liverpool race again but we will learn are lessons and destroy them in our head to head games. City are at their peak. They can't really get better, they have everything yet we still challenged them this whole season.

20 Apr 2019 15:36:53
The only worry for me is every season I’ve seen us finish second and have a close title race, the following year we have been dreadful. Like it takes the belief away from us. I hope next year is different.

{Ed002's Note - With a front three of Insigne - Werner - Dybala next year how can it go wrong?}

20 Apr 2019 16:52:31
We playing 6 strikers next year then Ed?

{Ed002's Note - Just the three.}

20 Apr 2019 14:16:04
This game should be 1-1, not sure how spurs haven’t scored. Every time they’ve pressed and put city under pressure they force city into mistakes but they haven’t done it often which I think is the problem with city’s remaining fixtures. I just don’t see where the effort to win the game will come from with the other teams. Spurs, in terms of quality, was our best chance.

Utd are all that stands between City and the PL now.
Although if you go on form City will win that one too. Just got to hope they choke.

20 Apr 2019 15:12:19
city were able to rotate and have more energy so spurs were always at a disadvantage. leicester, brighton, burnley will be their tough games. man utd wouldn't dare take points off city. Anyway it will be a win win if man utd lose and city drop points elsewhere. I hope manu just keep losing games and it carries into next season especially if they throw the city game.

20 Apr 2019 22:32:44
City have won the league for sure now! City won’t drop points At best we can hope we beat them in the CL!

21 Apr 2019 13:42:28
I think it is Leicester who will do us favor.

19 Apr 2019 08:54:34
Who's going to be watching the Spurs vs Man City game tomorrow?

At the moment I think I'd celebrate a Man City loss more than a Liverpool victory in the league! I really feel that if City do drop points, then we can be professional enough to get through the rest of the season without losing.

19 Apr 2019 09:35:19
They'll drop points. Will it be against Spurs? who knows, I see them looking for a bit of revenge but Leicester and Utd can cause them issues. We'll thrive and win every game imo, City can't handle the pressure mark my words.

20 Apr 2019 23:41:28
It’s not against spurs 😂.

18 Apr 2019 10:05:12
It is so hard to call what will happen in the city spurs game this weekend.

It could be that spurs are in dreamland and get battered by a city motivated to win the league and get revenge on them.

It could be that spurs a full of confidence and city edgy and nervous.

or both teams are extremely exhausted mentally.

Lets just hope spurs can do us a solid.

Spurs won't be stupid and will understand they still are not guaranteed top 4 and CL next season.

18 Apr 2019 16:31:00
I just don't see Guardiola having the same motivational powers and abilities to bring confidence back into a side that is probably devastated. The whole World knew winning the UCL was their main objective this season, and it's not a given that they'll win the EPL, . I'd have far more confidence in a Ferguson or a Klopp in being able to rile up and motivate the players.

Does anyone think this was Origi's big chance to impress everyone and he failed
I think Livepool and klopp gave him a chance and he blew it big time
shame as I really like the kid.

{Ed0333's Note - I’m not sure origi will be judged on this game alone. I hope he stays I like him a lot.

I agree Ed. He has made a difference when coming on this season. He’s never going to be first choice in the front 3 but his pace a directness does unsettle tiring defenders.
And dodgy goalkeepers of course 😉.

{Ed0333's Note - I agree mate love Divvy and for me that’s the defining moment of our season was Air Pickford lol. That Laid the foundation for all that’s happening now

18 Apr 2019 03:35:07
Personally I'm not his biggest fan as I think he often just takes an extra touch or 2 and maybe needs to get his head up more often. What I do love is his mentality, he gives his best no matter how frustrated he might be at lack of minutes.

I actually felt a bit for him because that first half was the type of game he was never going to get into. And klopp had to sacrifice him to get bobby dropping and defending from a deeper role. No way would klopp have the mind to judge his future like he was a teenage kid playing in a trial game. Klopp often praises his performances in training and no doubt knows him inside out.

I don't think he suits the way our front 3 operate though and I feel maybe his career might take off at another club.

18 Apr 2019 08:30:02
I'm 50/ 50 with Origi, some games he's decent and some he's invisible, I really don't know about the lad but I'd definitely keep hold of him for at least another season. I think if he got more games he'd be decent but it's impossible for him to get them at the moment.

18 Apr 2019 09:01:15
Yeah in fairness to the lad he's never got any consistent run of games to build up momentum. No fault of his own, we've been so lucky that our front 3 are nearly always available every game. 152 goals between them in less than 2 full seasons, incredible. Interesting too the last game we've won without any of them on the scoresheet was origis derby delight.

18 Apr 2019 09:15:21
His been given too many chances and is not up to it. Against wolves in the FA cup he blew it for me. 1 game against Everton at home does mean he can replace Bobby. That's the problem i have with the guys on the bench, when given chances its not to impress, its to cause Klopp to change his plans.
Its evident that we need quality and i'm not saying "marque" quality but someone like Ante Rebic and come in and to be given a chance. Origi has been here 3 - 4 years he still has not grabbed his chance.
Im sorry, he needs to be moved on but hey, i'm not the club and maybe Klopp likes the boy.

18 Apr 2019 09:40:48
I'd imagine lack of contract renewal suggests he's not in long term plans. I agree a fresh start is best for the boy.

{Ed002's Note - Liverpool has shown no desire to sell him.}

18 Apr 2019 09:54:11
Just 1 year left on his contract Ed no? Would they surely not consider offers this summer or will they look to extend his stay?

{Ed002's Note - I have no idea about what they intend to do about contracts, but they have made no effort to move him on.}

18 Apr 2019 10:10:02
Ok thanks mate.

Horrible game to watch. Great result though. I really fancy us against Barcelona especially with the second leg at Anfield.
It was quite spooky really. I was watching with the missus and just before we scored I said we will score in a minute and we did. Second half I got the same feeling just before Salah scored. Bang. After Porto scored I got the feeling that Bobby would score next. I looked at the betting and the odds were 16/ 1 so I had a fiver on. I also felt that Virgil would score but didn't bet it. I will try and work my magic against Barcelona and then whoever we play in the final. Good night reds. Sleep well.

17 Apr 2019 22:12:53
I have never in my life watched football like I did 2nite we’ve had Epic games but city v spurs was unhinged! I we coasted through our game! I just hope this kills off city.

Another fabulous ball from the skipper which results in a goal for Bobby. And now one for Virgil Rolls Royce as well. Barce will be watching this thinking can we just play United again. We won't loose a game the rest of this season the way we are playing. Everything has come together at the right time. Now we may not win the leauge as we can have four wins from four in the leauge and still have City win all their games and take the title, but we can win the CL as that is in our own hands and no one can affect that but us. We will win this and if City don't win all thier games the leauge as well.

I agree we should beat Barcelona on paper but Messi can take a game away from you in 10 minutes.
A lot will depend on how we deal with him.
If we get past Barcelona though we should beat Spurs or Ajax on a one off game. Especially with the experience we’ve racked up over the last 2 seasons.
