Tensions have been mounting around Alessandro Bastoni at Inter Milan, with the club's defensive mainstay now reportedly considering a move away.

Does anyone know whether Bastoni is really that good? I don't recall where I've heard it (maybe it was here), but apparently he's decent, but not excellent.

Outside of the Euros and the Champions League, I can't really say I've watched Bastoni much.

I know he was woeful in the Champions League final, but the rest of the team were that night too. In the Champions League against us this season, barring that pull on Wirtz for the penalty, he was okay, but nothing that stood out to me.

I haven't watched him myself, but if I remember correctly, Ed001, who I mostly think to be a decent judge of players ability, said that he is a good defender but has regressed a lot in recently.

Bastoni is an average player, no better than what we have. Looks ok in the Italian league, but I think he would struggle in the EPL.

Absolute nonsense. Bastoni is an elite CB, far, far better than Konate or Gomez.

It's fine if people haven't seen him and don't know his ability, but to label him average is ludicrous.

Very good player, but he has not had a great year for Inter, in Champions League games, and was poor for Italia. He got a red card against Bosnia, which I would argue cost them the game.
