Ed01, how do you think the signing of bogdan went down at the academy? Surely it's pretty disheartening for not just Danny ward and other players, but all the coaching staff, scouts etc when there's a spot available in the match day squad and we bring someone in from outside the club, who's probably not going to dislodge mingolet, and stop any chances of a youth team graduate making any progress at the club. Surely Danny and the lads must be thinking what's the point and maybe I should be looking elsewhere? I'm not having a go at bogdan himself but it must be frustrating for everyone at the academy when things like this happen.

{Ed001's Note - it depends on if it means that a young keeper will get a chance to go out on loan for regular football due to his signing or not. If signing Bogdan allows our young keepers first team football, rather than keeping them sat on our first team's bench, then it will go down very well.}

Fair point but what usually happens when a young player goes out on loan is that people watch him and don't think he's good enough for first team at Liverpool, but when a young player is on the bench week in week out I feel like they will eventually get a go and are more likely to step up to the plate and take the chance a la flanno(who was written off by club at one point if I recall)

{Ed001's Note - that is a good point, but they need experience to develop to their fullest.}

Thanks for response. I would imagine getting that balance between experience and opportunity right is pretty tough at bigger clubs who don't rely on youth players

{Ed001's Note - the higher up you go, the more difficult it becomes.}

Question for waro.

As a passionate Liverpool fan what would make you happy this summer re transfers?

Honest question, seems like fsg (f$g) can do nothing right in your eyes. What would it take for them to win you over this summer? Despite Ed002 saying repeatedly that Liverpool would fall foul of ffp you still think we don't spend enough so was just wondering not trying to cause an argument. Thanks

Good strong team let's hope they do the business. And good to see neil mellor on bt sport. I think he's great on the lfc channel. Well spoken, intelligent and witty. I can see him going far as he's a lot better than chris waddle and alan smith and the likes.

Rumours are that Gerrard can't stand brendan,even had a few run ins with him at various parties etc. Also that stevie would never return on loan while rodgers is at the club. Like I said just rumours I've heard around pubs in huyton where everyone knows at least one of Gerrards family haha. If true though then maybe stevie just saying those things in media for the good of the club?

I understand that the midfield isn't a priority but I think with kovacic it's a case of now being the only time to get him. If he develops into a world class player then he'd have his pick of top clubs to go to from inter. Obviously Liverpool have been aware of him for a while and know they need to get in there now before the opportunity passes them by.

{Ed002's Note - LOts of clubs were interested in him before he moved to IM. Now they are struggling to find someone else to bid.}

So if a player drastically improves, makes a place in the team his own and becomes vice captain and probable next captain, anyone who thought he wasnt good enough when he came isn't allowed to change their opinion!?
