llori loan to villa with option to buy - is this true eds?

starks720

{Ed001's Note - certainly a loan is being done, yes, not sure about the buy bit yet.}

03 Aug 2015 16:39:15
Adama Traore will travel to Merseyside to undergo a medical ahead of a move to Liverpool according to reports in Spain

starks720

16 Jul 2015 20:29:25
Reports in spain claiming liverpool have made contact with barca over pedro and are prepared to meet his buy-out clause.

starks720

1.) 16 Jul 2015 20:37:18
Isn't his release clause like 150 million euros or something?

2.) 16 Jul 2015 21:11:38
It was but they lowered it to 30 million euro

3.) 16 Jul 2015 21:08:13
It got recently lowered bunny with his latest contract renewal. Still 30 mil though.

There something about Spanish clubs not like using the release Claude because they pay tax on it or something so it will likely be lower than that. Not by much mind

4.) 16 Jul 2015 21:14:21
Cant see this happening, would be nice tho

5.) 16 Jul 2015 21:50:25
It used to be but it was adjusted, to a more reasonable figure around the £20 mill. mark in his latest contract.

6.) 16 Jul 2015 23:28:30
He is joining chelsea next week!

29 Jun 2015 11:56:26
Gonzalo Higuain wants to join liverpool apparently. any truth to this eds? do we even have an interest in him?

starks720

{Ed001's Note - I don't know of any desire by him to join us at all.}

1.) 29 Jun 2015 12:31:28
Cant see it mate

2.) 29 Jun 2015 12:48:45
top off my summer if he joined. can't see it though I would imagine arsenal or united stepping in with champions league and plenty of £££. be a blockbuster signing to feed off firmino tho

3.) 29 Jun 2015 13:57:09
If or when we sell sterling got to put the money towards him or a decent striker.

{Ed002's Note - It doesn't work like that. Hopeless.}

4.) 29 Jun 2015 15:05:42
Maybe he's talking about Panini Trading Cards.

5.) 29 Jun 2015 15:31:30
I know one of the Eds said something like he's available and u do like him but very unlikely. Is that still the case Ed002?

Heard his release clause is like 67M

Any info would be appreciated

Thanks Edz

{Ed002's Note - Any release clause is of no consequence. Liverpool are concentrating their efforts elsewhere.}

6.) 29 Jun 2015 15:38:56
Yeah but it kinda does work a bit like that Ed
Some of the money we make from sales will go towards purchases

{Ed002's Note - In which case all of the Sterling money went on Firmino. It really doesn't work that simply Chris.}

7.) 29 Jun 2015 17:06:15
Sorry Ed but for all the Sterling money to have gone on Firmino that would be saying there was no other money but there is so the reality is there was is a sum of money available to which some of the money made from sales will top up allowing you to buy players from said sum.
In a nutshell that's how it works

{Ed002's Note - This is one of the reasons why we don't discuss money Chris - it is a simplistic view of how it works. Where would this other amount of money come from?

But in strict terms for those who still see money from any future sale of Sterling - there will be less there than already committed to on Firmino alone.}

8.) 29 Jun 2015 17:35:13
I think the eds point - and this is very simplistic I know - is that by the time we've paid all the many add-ons on the Firmino deal (VAT, Agents fees, sign-on fees, etc) then any money we get for Sterling will have already been effectively spent, especially when you appreciate that we'll owe 20% of any Sterling fee to QPR.

{Ed002's Note - And 5% to Sterling.}

9.) 29 Jun 2015 17:53:34
I know it's simplistic but it's also correct.
If Liverpool don't sell Sterling are you saying there is no money to buy players?

{Ed002's Note - Until I know what the turnover and expenses are for the year ending tomorrow I have no way of telling. What I can say is that the owners have more than exhausted their FFP restricted input.}

10.) 29 Jun 2015 18:13:29
Regardless Ed there will be an amount of money available to buy players it may be very small, it may be dependent on sales, but there will be an amount and the sterling money or some of it will increase that amount.

{Ed002's Note - How will the Sterling money increase anything - it has long gone already - right now Liverpool have spent way, way, way more than they will get for Sterling. This is exactly why we don't discuss money and Liverpool's constant mismanagement of it. Remember the club is still being monitored over FFP.}

11.) 30 Jun 2015 02:23:42
I suspect this is going to add fuel to the fire but I was wondering with them paying so much for Firmino, could it be possible that FSG have relaxed their policy somewhat with regard to FFP in the light of EUFA relaxing the rules?

{Ed001's Note - what policy?

12.) 29 Jun 2015 18:36:31
Ok so it's already been spent and yet we will still buy more players so obviously there's still an amount and if Sterling hadn't been sold there would still have been an amount so the Sterling money was added to it.
Ed I am probably your greatest ally on here but you don't have to treat us all like morons and please stop worrying yourself over FFP it's as good as dead in the water

{Ed002's Note - No problem then Tris - so the clubs excluded already this season like Dinamo Moscow will get their places back in competition. They will be pleased.}

13.) 29 Jun 2015 19:23:01
Eds002 you should talk about the money side more often, just ignore the muppets

14.) 29 Jun 2015 19:17:54
If we sold sterling for £40m is it likely we will only actually see about £25m of it eds?
Considering QPR and sterling get a quarter.

{Ed002's Note - I am not doing math classes here any longer Mikey.}

01 Jun 2015 15:23:45
Hearing rumours we're after Nathan Redmond - is there any real interest from us?.

starks720

{Ed001's Note - we were interested back when he was at Birmingham City but decided against going for him. Since then he has been tracked, but I think promotion has ruled out any chance of us moving for him from what I was told.}

Did rodgers really say 3 - 1 is an improvement on 3 - 0?

starks720

1.) 12 Sep 2015 20:50:26
If he did say that then we are officially toast

2.) 12 Sep 2015 21:06:48
Well not to be a knob or anything but it would be true.

3.) 12 Sep 2015 21:08:02
He also said the loss to them made us go on a great run.

4.) 12 Sep 2015 21:12:12
I thought we were slightly better last year. Still awful, but it was a bit more end to end game last year with the final score owing much to the differences in the quality of the finishing and the keeper. For much of the game today we just couldn't keep any possesion and get two passes together especially in their half. Amasingly and quite luckily we still got few good chances today beyond the goal, but again poor finishing/De Gea saving two.

The sad think is if you are a United fan, you know you will have some dissapointments, some inconsistencies, some poor results against Chelsea or City etc but one thing you know is that if you play against Liverpool (without Suarez) your enjoyment is guarnteed. We are probably the best match up they have in the PL.

5.) 12 Sep 2015 23:21:51
Did not hear that, but if that's a direct quote from Brendan, he should be sacked on the spot. I just hope Sean, Peps and Macca speak up going forward. No balance at the minute!

6.) 13 Sep 2015 03:57:34
Prolly wanna read his comment on the club's website. Nothing has changed with this guy. Pascoe and Marsh were used as scapegoats so BR could still be in a job and the back room shake up is nothing but cosmetics being applied to cover cracks in the team. He won't change and not only will we win nothing with him, Utd will beat us regardless of where we play them because now they have found an LFC manager who will gift them the win without them breaking a sweat.

02 Sep 2015 16:22:59
So harry redknapp believes this is the worst liverpool team he's seen in years :) got to love harry - always speaks the truth.

starks720

1.) 02 Sep 2015 16:52:38
Hopefully a few more speak up, then fsg might finally get the picture!

2.) 02 Sep 2015 16:58:15
Love how he got at brendan for always talking out of his backside - hopefully more people start calling brendan out.

3.) 02 Sep 2015 17:53:54
Depends on what he means by "team".

If he means the squad, he's wrong. The squad is fine.

If he means performance, he might have a point, depending on how many years he has in mind (I would argue we were worse in the first half of 2010-2011), but I'd attribute more of that to the manager than to the squad.

4.) 02 Sep 2015 18:13:05
The truth is going to hurt

5.) 02 Sep 2015 18:15:42
The thing is though it isn't one of the worst liverpool team in years.

Personally I think it's one of the best team in years with the players available. It's just the shit fecking manager that we've got.

6.) 02 Sep 2015 18:41:22
Well said Lavers. Even the best players can be made to look c**p with an incompetent man in charge. Brendan has turned LFC into a joke.

7.) 02 Sep 2015 19:22:56
He should of gone at the end of the season. The man's a baffoon. I'll hold my hands up and say I thought milner would be a decent player for us but I'm doubting that now. He's bought some players that should never wear the lfc shirt. Borini,balotelli,allen,lovren,markovic, and probably a few more.
So depressing watching us play now. Losing to west ham at home so badly is a disgrace. Sack him before it gets any worse in my opinion

8.) 02 Sep 2015 20:00:12
LAVERS. You can't have it both ways.You say its one of the best teams in years (which the manager put together) then you say that the person who put it together is useless

9.) 02 Sep 2015 20:16:35
Not so long ago most people would have said Harry talks out of his ass.

10.) 02 Sep 2015 20:40:15
Red since 64

There's a transfer committee that buys players so not only down to Rodgers also the money he has made available to him is crazy.

I remember only a few years back to the hodgson days we were buying the likes of koncheskey.

Rodgers has bought some good players but also a lot of bad.

He's a stubborn fool who will not change his ways. Lovren is just a wet lettuce in defence and after his display at weekend his confidence will be rock bottom again yet Rodgers will most likely keep playing him leaving sakho on the bench.

So all in all identifying players could probably be done by you and I , but actually coaching the players to play as a team and become better is the hard part.

11.) 02 Sep 2015 22:27:02
I can't believe anyone is taking anything Harry Redknapp says seriously! The man is an imbecile and will say anything to raise his profile and massage his ego. I'd say this is the best squad we've for a long time if you look at the depth. The manager now has the job of blending that into a team that can compete. Is he capable? Most on here would say not but time will tell.

12.) 03 Sep 2015 02:04:22
Much as I hate when anyone slags off my team. I have to agree & Harry is right & only echoing the sentiments of what the majority of the fans can see & are saying. we lack creativity, Coutinho is suspended. who can you honestly see taking that role?? Starts with Rodgers.

13.) 03 Sep 2015 06:29:45
The depth is part of the problem. We have a ridiculously bloated (and expensive) squad. Give me a solid 18 backed by kids any day. All that's going to happen is several will be disgruntled next summer (or already are) due to lack of playing time.

01 Sep 2015 20:08:07
Enrique has deleted all his social media pages and promised to focus on football.

starks720

1.) 01 Sep 2015 20:33:53
Say what you want about enrique - but he is still the best left back at the club.

2.) 01 Sep 2015 23:08:05
So why isn't "the best LB at the club" playing regularly?

3.) 01 Sep 2015 23:43:52
Good joke starkz i hope that features as a joke on the next podcast. Enrique our best leftback.

4.) 02 Sep 2015 01:18:37
Missed the sarcasm. Sorry!

5.) 02 Sep 2015 08:55:55
Moreno is a shocking LB (probably the worst in the EPL) and gomes (although done well) is not a left back, has zero use his left foot and offers zero going forward - so at present, for Enrique to still be the best LB is not hard.

23 Aug 2015 10:43:43
ed001 - What do you think of riyad mahrez and do you believe he's a player our scouts should be watching and maybe sign january or next summer?

starks720

{Ed001's Note - I like him, he has pace, plenty of ability and he is consistent for a flair player. The problem is that he would cost a lot, a hell of a lot, as Leicester are investing with the aim of being a Champions League team. They would not let him go cheap. Also we need to get some players out before looking to buy more right now.}

1.) 23 Aug 2015 13:39:03
Thanks for the reply ed.

{Ed001's Note - you are welcome mate.}

2.) 23 Aug 2015 13:48:46
He is a fantastic player.

3.) 23 Aug 2015 15:40:33
Be nice to think our scouting system could pullout such gems.

4.) 23 Aug 2015 16:33:17
Gems like Anthony LeTallec and Florent Sinama-Pongolle or gems like Joe Gomez?

5.) 23 Aug 2015 17:40:06
Or Oussama Assaidi and Iago Aspas?

Pongolle btw was crucial in the comeback against Olympiacos

6.) 23 Aug 2015 19:44:45
Thanks to Harry, I'm starting to get a real hang up about the use of the word 'would'. Even Ed01 seems to have caught the bug. God help us all.

7.) 24 Aug 2015 03:18:12
Ron, more like Assaidi, Aspas, Alberto, Aly Cissokho and Victor Moses, all BR's "gems" until O'driscoll forced BR to pick Gomez. Had it not been for him, Gomez would on loan at Blackpool right now.

8.) 24 Aug 2015 05:06:38
they got him for £350k they will probably want £19.65m profit.

9.) 24 Aug 2015 07:24:26
The term "gems" is obviously lost on the newer fans.

23 Aug 2015 12:45:11
ed001 - I noticed you didn't care to respond to my last question. If you're still feeling a some type'a way about me setting you up with that man city FFP question, i sincerely apologize. 😜

starks720

{Ed001's Note - no mate, I just had to pop out so left it to answer when I got back, which I will do in a sec once I have cleared up all the quick posts I can do across all the sites. I do questions after I have done a quick sweep up of posts.}

Call my words nonsense all you want - don't change the fact that this is what will need to happen to bring the change us real liverpool fans want!

starks720

{Ed002's Note - And why would anyone give a toss about idiots like you not showing up to a game? Perhaps setting a fire at the stadium would help get the attention of the owners?

This stuff is so embarrassing?}

ed002 - You're not a liverpool fan, so you're probably loving the state of our club right now. I couldn't care less if that's how you feel!

starks720

{Ed002's Note - Why should I care that Liverpool lost away at Manchester United yesterday - it is simply a game, no more. Then we get the idiot fans like you start suggesting that people should stop going to games. It is simply embarrassing reading that nonsense.}

When fans stop going to the games is when they will start to act - unfortunately it will be too late.

Ed002 - It's not just one game - brendan has been clueless for years. Many fans were probably prepared to give him another chance with all the changes in the summer, but that westham game just showed he's learn't absolutely nothing.

starks720

{Ed002's Note - So it is just the one game then?}
