so if we're to believe the rumours, with the young polish lad we'll have a CM squad of Allen, allan, Milner, Can, Hendo, Grujic, Lucas, Stewart, Brannagan, not to mention Lallana, Couts, Firmino, Ibe, ojo and Marcovic. Did I miss anyone? 16 players for 5 positions. We're going to need some clear out. Has anyone heard of any info regarding players leaving? allen to swansea?
Cheers.

Chirivella and Canos as well.

2.) 17 May 2016 14:42:00
Maybe Lucas 4th choice CB next year.

Considering Lallana, Couts, Firmino, Ibe, Ojo, Marko Don`t play CM there positions are Wingers or CAM? so they should not be included in that pile, I would say Allan is going to be loaned out again he is not getting a work permit at the moment. Brannangan will probarly go out on loan to develop more, Allen will most likely be sold that leaves Zielinski, Grujic, Can, Hendo, Stewart Milner will be pushed further up the field he is better on the wing and I think Lucas will stay but be used at a complete back up and at CB.

4.) 17 May 2016 14:33:26
Allen to Swansea isn't the only one I guess.

5.) 17 May 2016 15:15:57
I am guessing Hendo, Can, Grujic, Stewart will be the senior players to cover deeper midfield positions with occasional cameos from Chirivella

Milner, Llalana, Firmino, Zielinski (if he joins), Coutinho, Markovic, Ojo will all cover he attacking midfield/ wingers roles

Lucas will be a backup at CB

I expect Allen to be sold and Ibe, Allan and possibly Canos to be on loans or sold depending on pre-season

If we sign someone like Gotze we might also see Markovic moved on or perhaps even Llalana or Milner, but think those two are unlikely to move given recent performances (unless a huge bid from somewhere! )

There's my 2c!

So this whole Zielinski deal. Isn't he/ his agent playing the come-and-get-me game a little too much? Been thinking we might not be all that interested, because if we were the Zielinski camp would be a lot more quiet by now.

Hi Edda d reds.
Has there been any update on can's new deal recently or are juve still circling? I'm not trying to jump on the pessimist's bandwagon but I'm getting more than a little concerned that with our injury prone players (lallana/ Hendo) and the likely departure of couts, we may be left very short of quality options who are ready to step up now. Also, Any new info on potential departures of our players like marcovic, sakho.?
Thanks, as always, for any info you can pass on.

Morning eds and reds.
I was wondering, what with our over inflated squad, obvious need to shift large numbers of fringe players off the books and little activity on that front, have the club decided to wait until after the euros to sell (hoping that good performances from the likes of Allen / ward / benteke. will push the prices up) or is it simply no one wants them?
Cheers.

Liverpool's development of young players has been good, but not necessarily good enough to get many of them into our starting 11-17. If it helps us generate funds through player sales which can then be used to help recruit higher class players it has done its job hasn't it? Not the preferred outcome of course, (I know we'd all love to have a team made up of 5/ 6 homegrown heroes like the gerrard / carra / Fowler / Owen / Stevie Mc. era) but not a bad return.

This is the only part of this site that I get really frustrated with. How are people suggesting we'd be better off without Salah?

I think the reason that we’re all so pleased with Robbo is because we were so poor at left back for so long. We’ve been crying out for someone who will do the simple things right and not expose our (in the past) vulnerable cbs. When Klopp identified and then bought Robbo, many were very underwhelmed but he has performed so much better than we’d have expected. (Best since JAR, who wasn’t a top quality left back either) . Left back no longer looks like a weak position for us. In that respect he’s been a great signing, has had a great start to his liverpool career and shows the potential to improve further. Couple that with his humble personality and work rate and it’s easy for me to see why some are going over the top with praise for him. He did just help us reach Kiev!

That's harsh Kev. He was hard done by seeing red in that match. Lots of young players need time to settle into a new club, country, league etc. Perhaps it was clear from the outset that he didn't have as much ability as expected. Maybe there are other reasons that we're not aware of as to why he's not made more than 1 ap on the bench this season. We don't know, but it is clear that in the very few games he played for us he was seldom used in his preferred position. He impressed at times in the match away to Madrid, and when it was clear the club didn't see a future for him they priced him out of a number of other potential moves.
I'm not trying to do the club down, and I'm not suggesting had he been allowed to leave to another club 18 months ago permanently that he'd be a star, but lfc got this wrong.
