Ed002/ Ed001

Rob green?

tell me we have more ambition than this? if true, why bring ward back to then sign another keeper? why not give ward the chance?

thanks.

lightbulbhead

{Ed002's Note - I am not aware of interest in Rob Green from Liverpool at this time. Certainly there is interest from elsewhere.}

1.) 19 Jan 2016 14:57:01
I distinctly remember when he was on West Ham and they shut out united, he must have had 15 saves 4-5 of which should have been goals. Knowing our scouts they watched that one game and are basing there recruitment off of it.

He also had a great game against the US in the 2010 world cup.

2.) 19 Jan 2016 18:47:48
I'd rather we had Cee lo Green, does that make me crazy?

are these balotelli rumours true about klopp wanting him back? i know everyone had a clean slate? but surely he knows balotelli is an issue?!

ed002,i know we don't talk money or anything of the sort, but i read someone from seville said we would have to meet his release clause? but today unia emre has said he won't be sold?
cheers me old love.

lightbulbhead

{Ed002's Note - He has a release clause of €30M which can be activated by Iberian clubs and then it is in the hands of the player whether he wants to move or not. Sevilla do not have to sell the player if any other side were offering that amount as it is not applicable outside of the jurisdiction of the law the contract exists under. However, clubs will often say that they will not accept less than his release clause - and can of course put any price on a player being sold outside of Spain. Monchi has spoken with the player who I am told re-iterated his position of being happy at Sevilla and the plans the club has. I know his agent is far from flavour of the month right now.}

1.) 26 Jun 2015 18:56:05
If we made a bid that Sevilla were happy with, does it seem like he will stay or is he just trying to get more money?

{Ed002's Note - Liverpool has not made a bid. The only bid that has been placed is by Roma.}

2.) 26 Jun 2015 19:37:02
Thankyou very much for your answer ed002 x

3.) 26 Jun 2015 19:42:03
Iberian clubs? Assume you mean spanish? Or does the clause apply to Portuguese clubs as well?

{Ed002's Note - Both.}

4.) 26 Jun 2015 21:50:40
Eds002

At this moment in time and to your knowledge, have Liverpool, via official representatives and agents, approached Sevilla in regards to discussing a possible transfer of Carlos Bacca to Liverpool?

Thank you in advance, for any informative knowledge you maybe, legally, be able to pass on

Best regards

{Ed002's Note - The only offer is from Roma, as I have explained.}

5.) 27 Jun 2015 00:53:23
I understand that liverpool haven't bid, but of he says he is happy is there point, or is he believed to be keen to leave if the money is right?

{Ed002's Note - His agent has been trying to get a move for him.}

6.) 27 Jun 2015 07:40:16
Of course he has, agents are little pests that way. I'd rather sign somebody who is keen to come to the club.

02 Jan 2015 13:58:50
would be interested to know if Ed002 has the most recent update as to who if anyone is close to signing shaquiri?in paticular us or is it nonsense? i for one don't think we need him at this moment in time nor do i think we should be spending more money!a mean come on after what we spent in the summer?!if anything it has to be a GK

thanks

lightbulbhead

{Ed002's Note - There have been discussions with Inter which have completed for now, and today there have been discussions with Juventus.}

1.) 02 Jan 2015 19:59:34
Apparently we have bid around 14m for him and are also in talks with him, I'm not saying this is 100% but it's what I've read.

2.) 02 Jan 2015 20:29:42
So if inter had talks already and juventus are talking today have we already spoken with him or are we next ! If indeed we are going to enquire about him

21 May 2014 18:11:24
ed, is konoplyanka(sp)agent just drumming more interest up in him as he said tht information Liverpool are not interested is untrue, and in the last half hour I've read a couple of articles Liverpools reps are in ukraine having disscusions?i appreciate uv said manu, tottenham, psg are interested, is it possible we still want him?thank you

lightbulbhead

{Ed002's Note - I am not aware of interest from Liverpool right now as they have been looking elsewhere. They could obviously rekindle it as he would be cheaper than the likes of Shaqiri and Sanchez. There is interest from Manchester United, Schalke, PSG, Bayer Leverkusen and Spurs and perhaps Liverpool have rekindled their interest.}

ED001 1st of all sorry to hear about your friend, i pray that all goes well mate. 2nd i saw a post you commented on stating which loan players will be given a chance etc

can either you or ed002 confirm whether liverpool can recall llori? or does the loan to buy, if thts what it is mean its a fore gone conclusion that liverpool now have no option to get him back?

thanks ladies you make this site the best on the net

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

lightbulbhead

{Ed001's Note - thank you mate and I believe it is impossible to recall him outside of a transfer window.}

1.) 06 Oct 2015 16:28:38
no problem mate.so we can recall him in a transfer window? i assumed that aston villa could keep him with the buy option they have,hpefully he gets a chance, to be honest I've never really seen him play, but people on here say he's brilliant.

thanks again mate, have a nice day. xxxxxxxxxxx

{Ed001's Note - every loan can always be ended by mutual consent in a transfer window, regardless of recall options etc.}

2.) 06 Oct 2015 17:39:08
I also believe Illori still has to agree to the transfer if they exercise their right to buy, it's only Liverpool that gave away their option to retain him?

I guess he might be tempted to stay under a new manager if he was told he was part of the future plans and the either Lovren or Skrtel were not. He's not exactly getting much game time on loan yet either.

Right now I'd rather we brought in Hummels though as we need a clear leader.

06 Oct 2015 15:21:40
IMO couthino and sturridge will be sacrificed to balance the books and for the new manager some money to spend on players he would like to bring in.

lightbulbhead

1.) 06 Oct 2015 15:51:30
Agreed.

It's bound to happen.

2.) 06 Oct 2015 15:54:22
turn on yer lightbulb and use yer head!

3.) 06 Oct 2015 15:57:34
I imagine if we miss out on top 4 Coutinho will look for a way to the Nou Camp himself, he might even do so even if we manage top 4. We won't have to 'sacrifice' anything he will be looking to leave.

He does have a long contract and I would hope we would at least get Sterling money for the boy if he goes.

4.) 06 Oct 2015 16:34:42
there seems to be a lot of disagreeing here, i hope it dosn't happen, but, where else will money come from for the new manager? there the main 2 players in the team who would fetch a lot of money, albeit sturridge staying injury free!

imred, maybe sacrafice was the wrong word, i ment he is one of the players that like you say,having a long contract, will generate a lot of money.

somefella, i think if you think otherwise you've been dropped on your head.

5.) 06 Oct 2015 17:41:22
I don't think they would sell either unless they wanted to go. We have others we can sell.

04 Oct 2015 20:05:43
Ed002

do you have any idea at all who the manager will be? can't you get your all seeing eye out and let us know who it will be love.

im not interested in what macca has said although i am very grateful and he seems to have been bang on about rodgers going, i'm very interested in you thoughts and reckonings? please as a treat to us all here xxxxxxxxxxxxx

lightbulbhead

{Ed002's Note - There are the two likely options as I have explained. I have explained other options that are available right now, and have explained who will come available in November. Macca told us that the club had spoken with CA about 10 days ago (CA was certainly still in England yesterday - but I don't know where he is now). Whilst I am sure Ancelotti would be the best option for Liverpool, I am not so sure he wants a job just yet - and there has been a tentative approach to him from another club that may change their manager. There has been time for the club to approach Klopp since he left England, and he has let it be known that he might be open to an offer if the package was right. However, he knows there is interest in him for next summer from elsewhere, and he has a declared interest to one day manage Manchester United. So he is viable. As for the others, I don't know just yet.}

1.) 04 Oct 2015 20:26:43
cheers for the insight ed02 like you I feel he should of gone in the summer while more could be done on a new manager fsg need to learn from ther mistakes to u haave previously said that they have been warned off klopp has this changed now if so do you have any info on that and one last thing de boer was talked about a lot is he not viable? sorry ed you keep mentioning villas boas surley would be a massive mistake cheers edds

{Ed002's Note - I have not said anything about the club being "warned off" Klopp at all. The name given to the club in the summer was not Klopp so there would have been no need to be "warned off" him. I have said they should be wary of considering him as a manager as I have explained again today. De Boer has a job and won't be easily available before next summer. Villas Boas has previously turned down Liverpool and won't be available until November - whether or not he would be interested now I don't know, but I doubt he will be on the A list for the club. Another club spoke with him in the summer and he was apparently of an open mind about options back in England - which was a change of stance.}

2.) 04 Oct 2015 20:26:58
Ed,could the other club be juventus or Roma ?

{Ed002's Note - Yes, Roma.}

3.) 04 Oct 2015 20:57:26
ed002 thankyou very much for taking time to explain the situation as you see its very much appreciated,enjoy the rest of the evening.

i truely admire your knowledge of world football.and i hope your on this site for years to come.

4.) 04 Oct 2015 21:11:06
Thanks,I can see him choosing Roma I think it maybe a good option for him,we'll see.

27 Jun 2015 14:06:02
i cannot for the life of me see why where interested in benteke!!weve made some brilliant signings and then this!i just hope he's too expensive for us i would rather we sign no striker than waste x ammount on a striker that dosen't fit our style of play!

lightbulbhead

1.) 27 Jun 2015 17:07:59
Me, neither. Lazy, unfit for the system, not worth the money nor the hassle. Beggars belief, really.

2.) 27 Jun 2015 22:25:20
Benteke doesn't fit our style of play. Even though we don't even have a style of play. You see Brenda went to a Bielsa symposium and got all confused or some weird shit. Then Basel bamboozled him and after unravelling their devious plan he shamelessly nicked it. But LVG sussed it (how he knew about 3 at the back I'll never know) and he spoiled it all for us. So The Nose came up with a cunning plan. A plan so cunning you could call it a goalie & 10 midfielders. So anyways , as I was saying, no need for Benteke. The only thing he's good for is banging in Premier League goals at a rate of 1 every 2 games. Seriously, that's his level. So how anyone thinks he's remotely good enough to replace the free scoring Balotelli, Borini & Lambert I'll never know.

3.) 28 Jun 2015 04:37:21
Good post boom, it's not like we should be looking to keep the 'style' of play we had last year!! Brendan likes to play everyone out of position so having someone who can actually score can only help. Even if we have to get skrtl lumping it up to him I'd rather see that thab see what we were served up at Stoke again.

19 Jun 2015 17:59:40
ED001 can you explain what job rodgers does and what a head coach does, if this pepijn linders gets promoted and he has all these fantastic ideas, does he put them into motuion or does rodgers tell him what to do?if rodgers tells him what to do then surely it makes no odds who the coach is?sorry if this is a dumb question i'm just a bit confused.

Thanks in advance mate.

lightbulbhead

{Ed001's Note - it really depends, every single person does it slightly differently. The usual though is the head coach will set the tactics to be played and the coaches will train the players to play those tactics while the head coach oversees the training, setting which players work with which coaches when etc. Some head coaches will take some of the coaching themselves, while other coaches assist. It might even vary from week to week, or day to day, depending on other stuff the head coach has to do, such as watching players of interest or putting together set piece plans, looking through video footage of previous games. I mean there are so many things, it would take a full article to really even scratch the surface.}

1.) 19 Jun 2015 20:25:24
You think we could have that article ed? I think some might find it both enlightening and interesting.

{Ed001's Note - if I get a chance mate I will put something together. All comes down to time at the moment, we are rejigging the profiles site at the moment, which is keeping me busy.}

2.) 19 Jun 2015 21:25:04
Eds - do appreciate the dedication & patience. Thanks

{Ed001's Note - no worries.}

3.) 20 Jun 2015 00:35:02
Interesting piece - unfortunately doesn't inspire much confidence of a turnaround as it sounds like Rogers still largely responsible for setting strategy which is where we fell down most frequently last season.

Quick question, is it 99% rogers doing team selection or is anyone else playing a meaningful part in that?

Thanks Ed

{Ed002's Note - It will be the manager.}
