Hi Ed002, I came across a rumour that Utd is looking at buying Ox for 10m. Any truth in that?

Thanks mate.

kwkhong

{Ed002's Note - Oxford has no interest in him.}

1.) 09 Jun 2022 16:12:25
Paaahhaaa good one Ed ????????.

2.) 09 Jun 2022 17:37:22
Yahoo rumour. Yawn, zzzzzzzzzzzzzz.
The other day Yahoo had two articles, one above the other. One started Mane was definitely going to Bayern, the one below it said Bayern hadn't even submitted an offer. Me and my brother were laughing at it.
They contradict themselves on an hourly basis to get clicks, and I see a lot of their headline stuff quoted on here which means posters are reading it and swallowing the bait.

Hi Ed002, can we say that LFC will not be signing anyone this Jan transfer window?

Or there may be still some twist and turns come end of Jan, if the right player comes along.

Thanks.

kwkhong

{Ed002's Note - You can say that if you want. I have not said it.}

1.) 04 Jan 2022 11:30:41
Have you not polished your crystal ball Ed002?
When you get round to it, can you kindly send me next week's lottery numbers too please?
Ta in advance.

2.) 04 Jan 2022 11:34:23
Thanks Ed.

3.) 04 Jan 2022 14:36:16
If we’re not signing anyone at the start of January then we’re not doing it at the end of the month as Salah, Mane and Keita will be back by the end of the first week in February. I suspect we’ll struggle through on what we’ve got and hope for the best. That said, there’s absolutely no value in the January transfer market at the prices we can afford.

4.) 04 Jan 2022 17:15:23
We are definitely signing a no9. Probably around 22/ 24 years of age.

26 Aug 2021 06:06:31
Dear Eds, with all these news about LFC getting Mbappe, can you bring us back to earth by confirming that we are not getting him? Thanks.

kwkhong

{Ed002's Note - I am not aware of any news about Liverpool having sign Mbappe.}

1.) 26 Aug 2021 09:18:16
Can you confirm if we have held talks with anyone this week with a view for deal? Cheers Ed.

{Ed002's Note - I am sure there would have been approaches from agents trying to move players on to Liverpool and talks over Liverpool looking to move players on.}

2.) 26 Aug 2021 09:58:59
Eds, were we ever 'in' for Mbappe? Apart from the apparent tenuous links to Nike. I always wonder where these stories of Mbappe to LFC actually eminated from? Seems laughable with our much publicised 'sell to buy' policy?

{Ed002's Note - No.}

3.) 26 Aug 2021 10:58:31
Thanks Ed002, well that wraps up these rumours. Frankly, I am not sure how we can afford his wages, not to mention the transfer fees.

4.) 26 Aug 2021 12:16:31
Is it Groundhog Day 😂.

5.) 26 Aug 2021 12:42:25
Everyday is groundhog day on this site!

6.) 26 Aug 2021 13:03:52
ed - do the club consider increased revenue from shirt sales that would offset some of transfer fees? I'm assuming they do, and that the revenue isn't seen as worth it.

{Ed002's Note - No, not to any great degree.}

7.) 26 Aug 2021 18:08:52
Let it go dudes.
Mbappe won't be signing for Liverpool any time soon.

8.) 26 Aug 2021 23:56:27
Thanks ed and interesting. Is that because the revenue from shirt sales is directed somewhere else?

In most other walks of life having a superstar name attached to whatever it is your promoting would spike revenue. So presumably having a name like Mbappe or Haaland would catapult Liverpool into the stratosphere. Just wonder how they valuate that or if they even do!

{Ed002's Note - Liverpool don't get the revenue from shirt sales. They get a fixed fee from Nike and a percentage of any increase in profit.}

14 Sep 2020 15:59:38
Hi Ed002, any truth that Fenerbahce are interested in signing Liverpool striker Divock Origi?

kwkhong

{Ed002's Note - I am not aware of any approach. They have already addred two strikers to replace the two who have left.}

11 Sep 2020 12:18:31
Hi Ed002, did you hear anything about Bayern agreed deal is at 31m GBP (include add-ons) and a 4 year deal with the player?

kwkhong

{Ed002's Note - Assuming you mean Thiago, no.}

1.) 11 Sep 2020 13:39:27
Thanks Ed002.

2.) 11 Sep 2020 16:51:26

Good morning everyone. Is today the endgame of this Caicedo saga?

kwkhong

1.) 12 Aug 2023 08:20:21
The end game came when he stated very publicly he had no interest in joining Liverpool. So he will be going to Chelsea as Brighton have moved their deadline for bids from midnight Thursday, to 1430 yesterday to some time today. Waiting for Chelsea to pay what they want.

2.) 12 Aug 2023 08:41:11
I hope so, k. It's become an unwelcome distraction and I'm keen for the footie to kick off so we have something else to talk about.

3.) 12 Aug 2023 09:49:30
What sort of deadline is that? Sometime today? ?
Just think if Caceido ended up stopping at Brighton ?.

4.) 12 Aug 2023 09:56:20
Romano is pushing the narrative that he has turned down LFC, if that was the case our offer would not be still on the table.
The player wants to keep his word with Chelsea as he has agreed a deal with them, but it is down to Chelsea to match or better the agreement, LFC has made with Brighton.
Chelsea should stop acting like Liverpool normally do and pay what Brighton want.

5.) 12 Aug 2023 09:00:53
I think it’s been reached, can’t see Chelsea not sealing the deal after yesterdays shenanigans.

6.) 12 Aug 2023 09:04:58
I certainly hope so. Either way it goes, time to focus on the season and starting it off with a bang.

7.) 12 Aug 2023 09:18:44
I hope so as I want to go into the season playing games without all this fan fare around the club . Just want to play football and go about our business under the radar let all the talk be about city Arsenal and Chelsea and we just plodd on quietly ??

Winning games of course.

8.) 12 Aug 2023 18:37:15
Caicedo accepted to come to us and then, flipped and rejected us. That’s on him. If Chelsea want him, they should outbid us, end of story. We move onto the first game of the season while Caicedo becomes Chelsea’s and Brighton’s problem.

28 Aug 2021 07:22:03
Hi Eds, I read that Aouar is available on a cheap and Arsenal is interested. Why aren’t we in for him? Is it because of financials and/ or we need to get rid of more players?

We have Gini, Shaq, Woodburn, Gruijc, etc leaving. So, adding Aouar on loan with option to buy isn’t too much to ask right?

kwkhong

{Ed002's Note - Lyon want an obligation to buy and I am surprised Liverpool are no interested. This has been discussed - try searching.}

1.) 28 Aug 2021 11:35:42
I think we need a more combative midfielder like Bissouma (price aside) rather than Aouar who is a similar type of player to Jones and Keita.

2.) 28 Aug 2021 13:04:01
Yes India buzzer if we sign bissouma total game changer, our midfield is set up to win the ball back, press then feed attackers and he is perfect for that role . He can play in an 8 or 6 and he has the technical ability to attack as well as defend .
Also him signing takes pressure of the young lads who can concentrate on there strengths which is attacking as harvey elliot an curtis jones are better attacking than controlling.

3.) 28 Aug 2021 13:15:11
Anyone arsenal are interested in means they can't be Liverpool calibre lol.

{Ed002's Note - So that dismisses Bissouma as well? Idiot.}

4.) 28 Aug 2021 14:53:09
Personally would love Bissouma but not happening, all credit to him if he joins this Arsenal team, it takes true love to leave for a club in freefall.

{Ed0666's Note - Mothwr Theresa would distance herself from Arsenal at the minute If she were alive God rest her soul.

5.) 28 Aug 2021 15:05:20
Obvious headline in the rags tomorrow ed Gunner go down?

27 Jul 2021 07:48:27
Hi Ed02, good day mate - things are looking good in UK in terms of the C.V., but not so in this side of the world I live in though.

Anyway, I'd like to know if LFC is lacking homegrown players now. It seems that we have too many foreign players and we are linking with many other non-home grown players in this window.

Do we need to sell non-homegrown players to buy?

kwkhong

{Ed002's Note - I think if the transfer window closed today then Liverpool will be OK but Liverpool are in danger of having to play with a reduced squad in Europe again due to the lack of club developed players. Non-HG players would need to make space for Non-HG additions.

As for CV it is OK in the UK right now but could easily head the wrong way - hopefully it will improve where you are.}

1.) 27 Jul 2021 12:08:22
Have we not got 8 homegrown players in the senior squad as it is with Jones, Neco Williams and Elliott to follow?

{Ed002's Note - I have answered this.}

2.) 27 Jul 2021 12:11:37
Our HG players are Milly, Hendo, Ox, Davies, Gomez, Trent, Kelleher, Phillips, Woodburn and Ojo.

Assuming the last 3 move on, we're left with 7 - looking like one HG short right now. If Davies moves on then it'll be 2.

It is the medium-term risk that is the bigger issue. Milly, Ox and Davies might not be around the season after.

3.) 27 Jul 2021 13:01:33
Pelican, I am doing my best to follow your logic on this topic yesterday and today (and your maths) but at the end of the day there is no requirement to have eight homegrown players.

When these new rules first came in, Chelsea, for example, had only Lampard, Terry and the reserve goalkeeper as their HG players for several seasons.

4.) 27 Jul 2021 13:28:01
17 non-HG seniors (max) + 8 HG seniors (min) = 25
+ u21s

I can’t recall when the rules came into play tbh so am unqualified to comment on Chelsea.

5.) 27 Jul 2021 14:14:37
Pelican, thanks for yet more maths, I hope you gleaned from my earlier contribution that the minimum HG requirement is not eight, as you say, but zero.

6.) 27 Jul 2021 14:48:18
Exactly. everyone getting obsessed with being able to register 25 players. which with Neco, Jones and Elliott would be more like 28.Klopp doesn't want huge squads that's why he likes versatile players.

7.) 27 Jul 2021 14:53:26
Can I just add that in all the years since the HG rules were brought in for 2010/ 11,Liverpool have named a full squad of 25 players on only one occasion for the reasons mentioned earlier.

8.) 27 Jul 2021 18:20:07
Haha it seems like my point didn't land. Oh well. I hope someone got it.

18 Oct 2020 06:46:18
Hi Eds, you have any news on Thiago and VVD injuries? They are saying VVD is out of the season but scan results are not out yet.

kwkhong

{Ed002's Note - There won't be any update until they have been fully assessed. We will hope it is not too bad.}

06 Oct 2020 14:39:43
Hi Eds, now that Shaqiri is tested positive with CV - the 4th player to be infected. Is there a rule in PL this season that will prohibit LFC or any club from playing until they are clear from this?

Clearly, this is worrisome and teams playing against them will be exposed to this virus.

kwkhong

{Ed002's Note - No. The club can still fulfil fixtures and many, many players have tested positive, recovered and playing again.}

1.) 07 Oct 2020 01:38:14
I think it's up to the club and player to decide if they want to keep it private so there may be other clubs not publicly announcing any cases and I wonder if a few players who've missed out from minor knocks at other clubs are related to challenge being kept private whereas we've been openly sharing this news which suggests we're facing more danger to other clubs.

I read that Klopp is the one to be blamed as he is the sporting director and Jorg is just his mouthpiece - hired on his recommendation. He went against Edwards for Henderson's contract, notoriously stubborn with favorite players and targets. Edwards and Julian decided to leave as they do not feel their views are necessary anymore. By the way, Klopp does like to tap on players too.

Don't shoot the messenger.

Hi Ed002, did LFC really bid 60m for RL?

{Ed002's Note - RTFP.}

Ed002, you were spot on that LFC moved on from RL due to the valuation. You were also right about the FFP and PS nonsense that X'ers are fuming about, evident of Chelsea now wrapping up the deals for MC and RL.

Now that everyone has calmed down, are there new targets we are looking at? I read that we have Luis, Sangare, Gravenberch, Inacio, Pavard (maybe? ) .

I am sure LFC would have started doing something behind the scenes since last week during the impasse. Hope to hear some good updates (if any) .

kwkhong

{Ed002's Note - I think Lavia heads the list now and that Sangare might prove a worthwhile addition and would not lose sight of Gravenberch.}

I read that FSG are here to persuade Klopp to stay as initially he wanted to leave at the end of this season but now he wants to go immediately unless he gets the support, hence the Caicedo bid.

I am saying if CFC were to bid 115m and we were to continue this bidding war, it will drag on and we will have the Arthur Melo situation.
