Hi eds,

Just wondering what's the update with Lavezzi now? And whether there's still interests in bringing in a goalkeeper for short term? (Judging from what Brendan said it's unlikely but I'd prefer to hear it from you as he sometimes talk rubbish)

Cheers

{Ed002's Note - I cannot see that Lavezzi would be added unless someone were to leave. There has been interest in several goalkeepers, but generally that has been in regards of those able to sign a pre-contract for the summer.}

Hi Eds,

Do we have any interests in any keepers? Since Casillas and Cech are basically available, is there any chance we can swoop one of those two up?

Also, do you think Bony would answer the question regarding our forward lines? I am somehow not convinced by our attack after watching the game with City. To me only Sterling did well enough to offer us something different up front and I can see both Sturridge and Lambert being ineffective in many games.

Lastly, do you see Kelly taking Johnson's spot on the right back position? To me he looks way more assuring.

Cheers,

knightza

{Ed001's Note - yes, no, no idea, more likely Flanno.}

Hi Eds, So is there really any interest in Griezmann from us?

Ed001 also said he will ask about Bony . any updates?

Lastly, I really liked Domenico Berardi - do you know if any scouts from Liverpool have been sent to watch him over the last season? I would take him to replace Suarez.

Also, any news regarding Kelly and Enrique fitness? As well as whether Rossiter will feature during the pre-season?

knightza

{Ed001's Note - from what I can find out, there is no interest in Griezmann right now, mainly due to price.

I haven't had the people who would know exactly who it was about get back to me, but we have held talks with Swansea. The reason why its Bony and Davies being linked is simply papers guessing, they are just looking at what we need and putting 2 and 2 together and hoping to be right. I was reminded that Brendan Rodgers loved their other left back Taylor, when he was in charge, so that has to be a possibility too. I am also told they have interest in some of our players, so it is equally likely it could be a player leaving. I am hoping to get some more info today on it.

I don't know sorry, the name has never been mentioned to me at all, not in connection with anyone, that I can remember.

Kelly was fit all last season, we were just easing him back to fitness like we did with Flanno. Enrique has been back in training already, Monday I think it was he started, again I wouldn't expect much from him for a while. Rossiter is expected to feature heavily in preseason.}

Hi Eds,

Thanks for all the good work - As Glen Johnson has caused us a few goals in recent weeks, do you think he will leave in the summer (his contract may not be renewed considering his form and wages).

If he will leave, wouldn't this make the RB (or LB if Flafu were to come over to RB) a priority? Why are we bidding for Lallana first when our Midfield is already packed.

Also - would you be able to give us updates on Kelly please? And possibly the future of Rossiter (will he be promoted to senior squad next season?)

Thanks heaps

knightza

{Ed001's Note - Johnson has another year left on his contract, I doubt he will go anywhere before then.

We are bidding for Lallana because we need a creative midfielder to break down packed defences.

Kelly is just being eased back, similar to the way Flanagan was. He now has the summer to think about things and decide if he wants to look for a move or try and get back in the team. I would think Flanagan's example would be a good example to him though, as he was on his way out at one point, but knuckled down, worked harder and got his chance.

Rossiter has been in and around the squad all season for experience, I expect the same next season with a run out in the cups.}

Hi eds,

With Kaka telling Real Madrid he wants to leave, who's got the best chance of getting him? R we in the running at all?

Cheers {Ed001's Note - you do realise that, until Ronaldo moved to Madrid, Kaka was the world's highest paid player, right? He is still on huge wages, way out of our stratosphere. While I expect him to take a cut, I am quite sure someone in Turkey or Russia/Ukraine, even China, will offer him a huge salary that he will take.}

It's my birthday today and I must say, I quite enjoyed listening to Jurgen wishing me happy birthday and singing for me.

Did they just do it this year? I don't remember getting one like this last year (s) .

Haha! I thought the same mate! Put a smile on my face and made me feel about 10 years old again. Bit of quality light jearted fun.

I got mine in March past -- was a laugh for sure. But I'd never received one in prior years, either.

Something to look forward to again for 2018!

Hi Eds, With Liverpool sending Ojo to Fulham on loan this season, do you think the club is now trying to fixed the strained relationship with them (from the Dempsey time)?

knightza

{Ed001's Note - yes.}

1.) 16 Aug 2017 10:55:18
Step in the right direction.
I hope we make it right with Southampton, maybe send them clyne on loan 👍😉.

2.) 16 Aug 2017 11:00:44
Or give them lovren plus 25mil for Vvd xD.

3.) 16 Aug 2017 11:07:51
Lovren plus £25m for VVD? I'm hoping that was a joke. We'd be lucky to get VVD for £50m + Lovren.

4.) 16 Aug 2017 11:40:05
I thought you said make it up to Southampton then you try giving them Lovren and valuing him at over £35m lol.

Thanks Eds for the good work. I especially appreciate Ed001 match report/ analysis, be it in words or in podcast.

In terms of our current team, I think we are great going forward. It's an entirely different way of attacking than what I'm used to. Our current front four (Firmino, Coutinho, Lallana, Mane) are very different to Owen/ Heskey, Torres/ Gerrard, Sturridge/ Suarez, and forwards we used to have.

In midfield, I think we are still trying to find a partner for Henderson. I'm not convinced about Can yet - and personally I think Wijnaldum works better, though the partnership is far from perfect. Do you know if we are interested in Kondogbia from Inter? Really like him from the time he was at Monaco.

For our defense, hopefully we get an upgrade on Lovren like Ed001 said - though I would like to see Gomez given a chance to partner Matip. Do you think it will happen?

In goal, not sure if anyone else feels the same way but Karius reminds me of Westerveld. Not particularly good, but not particularly memorable. We did win stuffs with him in goal but he's far from convincing.

Hi Eds,

Is it true ...........

knightza

{Ed002's Note - This is the Liverpool page - try the Arsenal page if you want to talk about their players and the clubs interested in them.}

Hi Eds,

What do you think of the 3-4-3 recently implemented by Rodgers?

In my opinion, it seems to work well (attacking-wise). But defensively, it's still abysmal. Is there any young academy centre back we should be trying instead? Taking Toure Skrtel and Sakho in the first XI, and seeing Lovren is a disaster at the moment.

Cheers,

knightza

{Ed002's Note - I have no interest in where the players stand at the start. Liverpool is largely overrun with CBs with Ilori and Coates out on loan as well.}

You really do think differently to me. I think fullbacks are really important for us especially for those games that needs 'unlocking'. I would spend all I need to get who I wanted. I would take Alaba and Alves, but because Alaba won't leave Bayern for us, Mendy would be my second choice. If not then perhaps Jordi Alba. But really i hunk we need to get excellent fullbacks to compete. Robertson won't do.

knightza

{Ed001's Note - why Alba? Jordi Alba is hopeless.}

Would it be too late for Sakho to say sorry and promise that he will adjust his attitude? Sakho needs to realise how many LFC fans love him and he should behave passionately and professionally or in whatever way he can to keep Klopp satisfied.

I sure hope that there is still a chance of him making up with Klopp. I certainly hope Sakho's penny will drop after he reads through the social media today.

I would argue that there should be no transfer window and no “transfer” allowed at all. Players can only move after their contracts are up - or when the club has decided to release them.

Definitely Bonucci but the other three.? Difficult choice. Personally, if I’m a football manager right now, I’d pick Luiz, Alderweireld, and . wait for it. Joel Matip.
