Hi was
Just saw that on Monday sky did an article on Liverpool possible transfers and they give each player so rating out of 5 on how likely they are to join. Mane was at the top with a 4.7/ 5 which was probably to be expected, but in second place was Lucas Moura of PSG, being given a 4.0/ 5. Was very surprised to see this name as he is not a player I've seen mentioned on this page very often in recent times and was just wondering if we ever held any interest in the player and if so, has it disappeared with the signing of mane?
BTW great work on the site eds!

jowens560

{Ed002's Note - PSG may well be less willing to let Moura move as he has now settled better in France - but it took a very long time. An attempt was made to strike a deal for Lucas Moura to make a return to Sao Paulo on loan in January 2015, but PSG pulled the plug as discussions dragged on. Juventus had declared interest if he becomes available but baulked at the €40M asking price they were given. Spurs and Liverpool did manage to scout him recently, although he has been starting from the bench a lot this season. Whilst his agent has spoken to Arsenal about him, the player himself is now keen to stay in Paris, and having settled, PSG will likely support that. As such, I suspect a summer move to be unlikely.}

I would imagine that signing Mané will put any thoughts of signing Lucas Maura in the bin. They play in the same position after all.

Hi eds,
If lucas were to be sold this summer, any possibility of Alex Song? I assume after allowing him out on loan last season that barca are willing to sell, i think he would be a very suitable replacement

jowens560

{Ed001's Note - no he would be an awful replacement anyway, he would have the same issues as Gerrard did.}

10 May 2015 23:26:38
hey eds,
If sterling were to leave in the summer, would Patrick Herrmann be available? Been watching a lot of the bundesliga and he looks like a great player

jowens560

{Ed002's Note - Patrick Herrmann has been subject to interest from others but not Liverpool.}

Hey eds,
is there any chance of juan cuadrado of fiorentina?
seems to have had a decent year in the serie a and he plays as a wing forward, a position we need

so sadio mane is named Liverpool player of the season. must say, so many on here complained about the hefty price we paid and i think many people were afraid he would be a massive flop like the two big money singings in big andy, and benteke from Rodgers reign. must put our hands up and applaud Klopp for this one though, it was a big risk and has already payed off. honesty don't know where wed be in the table now without him to be honest, we didn't lose a single game this season that he started in. i know that klopps management can be questioned at times, but there's no doubt he has an eye for a player that will suit his team compared to rodgers, to be honest can't really complain about wijnaldum mane or matip as they have all been pretty good, grujic hasn't looked bad when he hasn't been injured, the only player with serious question marks is karius, but he's a 23 year old goalkeeper in a new country, i wouldn't write him off yet. just look at reus, hummels, lewandowski and aubameyang and look at how much they cost, compared to what they'd be worth now. also the decision to not buy a left back in january as the right player wasnt available was very important in my opinion, as i feel rodgers would have paniced and got the owners to sign off on player who didn't suit at all at an inflated price. just hoping the owners can back klopp the same way they backed rodgers, because i genuinely believe he will bring in the right players we need and not a "big name" signing that will satisfy the fans but won't suit the team at all.

I counted 4 full stops.

{Ed001's Note - is this a new hobby of yours?}

2.) 10 May 2017 06:22:04
I'll put my hand up and say I questioned the need for this signing. I knew he was a good player, but didn't think he'd be as effective as he has.
👏.

3.) 10 May 2017 06:23:05
Who signed Caulker?

4.) 10 May 2017 07:34:27
Mate let it go, it was a short term loan, not spending a fortune like we did on Balotelli or a host of others. a mistake but hardly a big deal.

5.) 10 May 2017 07:52:07
I predicted Mane would be a revelation, a real game changer for our attack and game plan.
I also predicted wijnaldum would be a waste of £25m and the prospect of Milner being our new left back frightened me so I can't really gloat too much.

6.) 10 May 2017 09:35:26
I pretty much had the exact same expectations as you Mikey - would still say Milner at Left-back hasn't been such a success merely better than the disaster I thought it would be.

7.) 10 May 2017 14:35:17
Mane picked up two awards, shows how well he is thought of, but his absence has really shown how much we depend on him, Klopp should really have a Mane mark 2, hope we get that player soon, also two new full backs . we should have got that left back last summer, also pacy winger/ forward in Jan . we wouldn't be in this situation that we are in now .

8.) 10 May 2017 14:57:43
Anything to pass the time on the nightshift Ed01 :)

9.) 10 May 2017 14:56:26
I was worried about Mane when he came BUT never doubted his talent and ability cos he was the exact player we needed at the time. I am happy to be proved wrong as I was worried more about his attitude than his talent.

After watching that first half i can't actually remember us dominating as much as we have in a long long time, lucas and can are breaking everything, arsenals defence are making huge mistakes when we press and coquelan has saved them a few times. Hit the post twice and cech has just made what could be save of the season. We could be 4-1 up and arsenal couldn't complain (their goal should have stood imo)

Liverpool have named a completely different XI for each half vs Thai Premier League XI.

First half starting XI: Bogdan; Gomez, Toure, Sakho, Wisdom; Lucas, Rossiter, Teixeira, Markovic; Ings, Lambert

Second half starting XI: Mignolet; Clyne, Skrtel, Lovren, Maguire; Allen, Henderson, Milner; Ibe, Lallana, Origi

Additional Subs: Cleary, Moreno, Chirivella, Kent, Wilson, Ojo

1.) 14 Jul 2015 14:46:23
Can't be good news for Moreno unless he's carrying a niggle

2.) 14 Jul 2015 16:19:49
Can't imagine Gomez or Wisdom playing left back and Maguire is too young to be a regular. I'd say Moreno is a nailed on starter at left back, could be that Rodgers wants to assess Wisdom and Maguire.

3.) 14 Jul 2015 17:06:32
It`s a friendly guys. Get a grip, pls!

Hi eds
sky just reporting now that tevez has been offered the chance to return to the premier league by "an unknown premier league club", but say that their sources understand "that the club is not Liverpool". Any idea who the club in question is?

jowens560

{Ed002's Note - Try the European pages.}

1.) 15 Jun 2015 20:29:11
West Ham?
Tevez & Austin up front???

14 Jun 2015 17:11:27
Well eds
just wondering, if the kovacic deal does fall through do you suspect we will go after a different central midfielder or will we just look to strengthen different areas?

jowens560

{Ed002's Note - I am not going to speculate but given MK was not first choice you can make your own mind up what will happen.}

1.) 14 Jun 2015 17:29:20
Who was first choice then Ed?
I just can't seem to remember

{Ed002's Note - Lars Stindl, but he chose Borussia Monchengladbach over Liverpool.}

2.) 14 Jun 2015 17:58:15
All sounds like it ain't happens Ed to me.

3.) 14 Jun 2015 18:03:45
Bleacher report saying kovacic is going nowhere. Hope we get him. Stop slating the ed's for passing on information and then it doesn't happen,u would all be all be moaning if they divulged nothing.

4.) 14 Jun 2015 18:19:15
Although I would like us to get Kovacic if we don't get him it would be nice for us to move onto a more defensive midfielder. Although the only other centre midfielder except Stindl that I remember Ed002 mentioning on the list of interest from Liverpool was Pjanic who would be extremely expensive. Ed002 do you think if Sterling were to leave that could fund Pjanic or has interest in him gone now

{Ed002's Note - No, Liverpool cannot afford him.}

5.) 14 Jun 2015 19:37:15
Cheers ed002 I thought that would be the case. Hopefully they can overcome the issue in the Kovacic deal and get that done

6.) 14 Jun 2015 19:56:03
My fear is that we go from Kovacic to Will Hughes

7.) 14 Jun 2015 21:06:47
Or Jason Puncheon

Dont see why he's getting all the criticism when he was by a mile the best player in the league when Leicester won it and this year he has the same amount of league goals as Coutinho aswell as MORE assists while playing for a team which is extremely defensive and significantly weaker in terms of quality. For 100m less.

Ricardo Rodriguez? Quality player playing for a team that has just had to play in a playoff to avoid being relegated. Not blessed with incredible pace but a great defender and he has as good a final ball from free kicks and crosses as anyone.

If Liverpool had to sign one, would u prefer Zaha or the Ox?

Probably get downvotes for this, but if Sakho was to be used as "leverage" for another player I would really hope it would be Zaha. I know he didn't have the best time at United, but I just feel he was in a similar boat to Markovic in that he showed fantastic potential but United bought him too soon before he was properly developed. He has progressed very well at Palace this season and would bring some much needed pace and power to our side.

I understand that Sakho will never play for us again as long as Klopp is manager, but it really is just such a shame. Last week the Official Premier League website released a shortlist of 6 prem players for people to vote as premier league player of the month for march, and Sakho was one of those 6 as he has steadied the Palace ship only 2 months into it. Meanwhile during the same March period we were playing Lucas at centre back because we had no better options. Just hope now he can continue performing till the end of the season and we get what we paid for him back.

The first team in Premier League history that has had the manager lose the dressing room and decided to get rid of the dressing room instead of the manager.

David De Gea for me. He has been uniteds best player for the last 3 or 4 years now and he has saved them so many points. Very rarely makes mistakes with his hands or with his distribution either. our attack is as good as anyone elses in the league and i think we have a good enough midfield too. Thought migs was decent the second half of the season but you see some of the saves de gea makes in the big games and u just think how the hell did he keep that out.

to be honest i just cannot see what you're saying about clyne at all. I thought he was very very good today defensively and marked sane almost out of the game, the vast majority of citys good stuff came from sterling and de bruyne on the right. Definitely thought he was the best defender after matip and made some crucial interceptions- granted he did not do much at all from an attacking perspective but when you are marking a guy as sharp and fast as Sane then you cannot leave yourself open and im finding it quite hard to see how u can give milner a 6 defensively and clyne a 5 to be honest.

I personally thought kante was man of the match. the guy is a terrior and he was everywhere closing down. More than a coincidence Leicester won the league with him and Chelsea are running away with it now with him. Thought we played really well in the first half and firmino probably should have scored at least one of his chances of not both of them but tbh I didn't think we done enough to deserve to win the game and we easily could have lost, it's a good point in the race for a top 4 spot considering arsenal and spurs dropped points to weak opposition. Actually thought Can was alright tonight and certainly not to blame for us not winning the game. Our midfield was dominating when the mane change was made and to be honest as good a player as we know coutinho is he hasn't got back to himself since he's returned from injury and he wasn't in the game at all, similar to hazards substitution. Bright side is we now have all our key players ready to play for the first time In about 3 months so hopefully we can finish out the season how we started it, and just see what happens
