Markovic’s deal has fallen through, we’d gone from overpricing him to agreeing to sell him for around £3 mil. Twitter is blaming him but is there another reason it didn’t go through? He’s going to leave end of the season for nothing but most teams will not want him if he doesn’t play for a year. If he’s decided against the move it seems odd in my eyes but I’m sure you Ed’s know more than me!

chubney

{Ed002's Note - I rather suspect he will still move this summer.}

1.) 01 Sep 2018 17:57:06
Apparently failed to agree personal terms.

2.) 01 Sep 2018 19:55:27
Sorry Ed couod you advise please were he could still move to please? I thought it had to happen in August mate that's all.

{Ed002's Note - Benfica might yet be an option.}

3.) 02 Sep 2018 18:18:44
The Portuguese transfer window closes on the 21st of September, so there's plenty of time.

{Ed002's Note - Sporting has had an interest in the past and I understand they will be tried, and I think an attempt to get interest from a Russian side failed yesterday (Saturday). Else he stays and Liverpool need to make a decision.}

4.) 02 Sep 2018 18:54:33
Thanks Ed002. Didn't the Russian transfer window close at the end of August though?

{Ed002's Note - Yes, but they had 18 hours leeway to get registrations completed allowing anything underway by 11PM local Friday to complete registrations. The idea being to overcome any issue like the Adrien Silva problem where the international clearance paperwork was late there are no problems. You will recall the fuss over Andrei Arshavin's delayed transfer completion. The FAs should all consider taking this approach - it is not meant to be an additional day or extension to the window, just something to help avoid problems. But what it did in the case of Markovic was allow sufficiant time to contact a Russian side on Friday and try and complete on Saturday - but to no avail. Right now, Portugal is the only realistic solution unless loaned to the Czech Republic or anywhere else the window remains open. The agent has made his views on Liverpool very clear indeed over this matter.}

5.) 02 Sep 2018 21:00:09
Thanks so much Ed002. Your knowledge on the matter is absolutely incredible.

Rumour has it that Klopp and Buvac have kissed and made up and he could be back on the bench for Brighton. Any truth in this at all? Could be crucial for the final as we’ve not won a game since he ‘left’ I don’t think!

1.) 09 May 2018 22:09:30
Really hope this is true.

2.) 09 May 2018 23:01:09
I hope so. If only for the fact they’ve been mates for such a long time it would be a shame for them to throw that friendship away. Obviously from our point of view it’s getting the team back together and that can only aid us.

3.) 09 May 2018 23:45:14
I hope so, I know Buvac left the country last Friday! Hopefully it was to have a few days break rather than going to Germany about potential jobs 😳.

4.) 10 May 2018 01:28:39
I have it on the highest authority that Buvac has finally agreed to Klopp's demand. He will now only be allowed on the bench if he has a neatly trimmed beard and matching Klopp glasses. Apparently the fitness guy just is pulling it off well enough :)

5.) 10 May 2018 05:28:47
Buvac to return and ed02 to return :-)

6.) 10 May 2018 07:48:13
Haha nice one blunt.

7.) 10 May 2018 09:06:55
Hope they repair the relationship, it obviously works.
Doubt him not being there had anything to do with us losing against Roma or Chelsea tho.

As it looked like Sakho was looking to leave, has be been given any promises after signing his new contract? Personally I think he's our best CB by a mile but Rodgers didn't seem to think that way!

With Danilo signing for Real Madrid, is there any chance of Carvajal becoming available? Could definitely do a good job at wing back if we stick with 3-4-3 or even just in general as a right back as Johnson is almost definitively leaving

chubney

{Ed002's Note - There is no plan to sell him.}

I see Allan Rodrigues has signed another loan deal until the end of the year with Fluminese. Is there actually any chance of him getting this work permit with us? I’ve never seen him play so I have no idea if he’s remotely good enough but seems odd that we keep persevering with loans for him rather than sell him.

chubney

1.) 02 Jul 2019 03:31:05
there is more chance of pele playing for us, sadly this player has been caught up in red tape and his future lies elsewhere.

Nike have cocked up and are letting people buy Coutinho Barcelona shirts. Looks like the Leicester game was his last!

I’ve just seen something suggesting Chelsea are looking at Butland. It’s long been suggested by many on here that he could be a viable solution to our keeper issues, how’s he been getting on this season? I’ve not watched any stoke games but know they have shipped a lot of goals, are these down to him or shoddy defenders in front of him? Interested to know if.

chubney

1.) 26 Nov 2017 09:38:33
I’d take him over Mignolet, Stoke are struggling but I think they would want a lot for him, and by that I think they would want in the 30s in terms of millions.

2.) 26 Nov 2017 10:03:39
Butland needs to prove his fitness he is struggling and out again at the moment.

3.) 26 Nov 2017 14:54:18
Not me, Jones. Migs is a very low bar to improve upon. I would not take him as a, he is injury prone and two, Karius should be given back the shirt as he has been solid in the CL so far. He just needs more experience and game time. Butland is also overrated and had he not been English, no one would care for him, IMO.

4.) 26 Nov 2017 15:00:43
Butland is out with a broken finger, but he is a young keeper with a great future ahead of him,
I would def go for him, he will be England no1 soon .

5.) 26 Nov 2017 17:31:45
Happy, we already have too talented GK's at the club already so why waste money on an overrated, injury prone GK when we can give the talented ones we have a good run in the team?

22 Oct 2017 19:20:27
This may be alarmist but I’d seriously consider sacking Klopp if personnel changes aren’t made to our defence. I’d play ward every game from now on. Mignolet is woeful, Karius hasn’t had a chance to impress but hasn’t done a great deal with his chances so far, ward seems to be the right choice. I’d also drop Lovren, if he’s injured as they said on sky and isn’t training then he should not play!

chubney

1.) 22 Oct 2017 19:43:45
Agree with Ward
Disagree with sacking Klopp
He is ultimately responsible for our defensive problems, but sacking isn’t the answer.

2.) 22 Oct 2017 19:52:55
CHUBNEY,
I’ve been saying for a while now that this is the season KLOPP will be be judged, I like the the fella, I think he’s a breath of fresh for the club, but when he says we looked at over 500 centre halves and couldn’t find any better than what we have, he does seem to bring ridicule on himself especially when we keep making the same mistakes game after game. first and foremost we need a top class keeper, MINGO has had enough chances now, ENOUGH IS ENOUGH, secondly we need 2 centre - halves, these need to be sorted ASAP.

3.) 22 Oct 2017 20:01:23
Man if Klopp goes who can come and do better?
Let him fix this we still have January to reinforce the back line.
Maybe we can't challenge this year but a top four finish will be ok.

4.) 22 Oct 2017 20:07:51
He doesn't deserve to be sacked, but deserves all he gets for not adapting.

5.) 22 Oct 2017 19:30:37
We have shipped 16 goals in 9 games more than any other top side in the league. I don’t see us finishing inside top 4 nor I see any change in the attitude of the manger. That was an ordinary spurs side who had just 36% of the ball. Poch tactically outclassed Klopp!

6.) 22 Oct 2017 21:40:15
I don’t think Klopp should go because he’s done a lot of good but it’s absolutely ludicrous to not change our defence after that and many other showings. If Klopp doesn’t think things should change he’s delusional and should go. I love the man but I genuinely don’t want to watch us anymore if we are going to defend like that!

28 Sep 2017 22:20:20
How did Allan get on today? Even though I don't think we'll ever see him in a red shirt, I'm interested to see if he did well.

chubney

{Ed025's Note - average mate..

1.) 29 Sep 2017 09:45:03
he may have lowered his levels due to the opposition ed. :p.

2.) 29 Sep 2017 10:15:00
cheers for the response ed. He's still the saviour the club needs! Haha.

Why wouldn’t they? Any information can’t help. In Ings case he isn’t coming back to Liverpool unless something goes very wrong for him over there, so why wouldn’t he try and give his new team a leg up?

I agree with Ed002 here, the route of the goalkeeper issue stems from the manager, he’s had 3 years to sort this now and we still haven’t. Overall Klopp is taking us in a great direction playing some great football but at the end of the day, we’ve won the sum total of sod all. If at the end of the season, all we have to show for ourselves is more lost finals and a 4th place finish then Klopp has serious questions to answer to. It’s not like we’re operating on a shoestring budget and he’s doing wonders on limited resources! It’s a results business at the end of the day.

He’s slowly turning into Arjen Robben, you know he’s cutting in but you just can’t stop him! While he might end up being less effective next season, he’ll still be an absolute pest for the opposition to defend against.

You mention that you think a right back will come in, I'd have thought that would be the least of our worries with TAA, Gomez, Flanno and Clyne all on the books. Are you expecting multiple departures in January?

chubney

{Ed001's Note - Clyne is completely unwanted, he was playing last season out of necessity, he is going as soon as the club can get rid. Flanno is still not anywhere near his best and TAA is struggling with the defensive side and is likely to move into midfield.}

Seems mad that a player who moaned at the start of the season about not playing would get his agent to start mentioning RM again, there's literally no chance he'd play ahead of Marcelo. I don't understand players and agents sometimes, he'd had 8 or 9 good games recently and suddenly he's going to walk into one of the best defences in the world?

Probably just resting him for the first game in the CWC, everyone else has missed games for rest outside of the League cup bar him. Would not shock me to see a Gomez and Hendo CB partnership until Sepp and KJH join the squad.

Peak Torres doesn’t really fit what Klopp would want us to play but peak Suarez for as much as I love Firmino would be an absolute animal with Mane and Salah either side of him.

Didn’t they bid 20 mil + James for Pogba, can’t see where they’d get the money for a 60 mil Fabinho bid from.

Very short odds with the bookies now but De Ligt was pretty much the same odds last week for Barcelona so I wouldn’t read too much into what they say.
