Don Balon:

Liverpool want Sergi Roberto as part of the deal for Couthino. Barcelona is not willing to sell Sergi. but sergi is so far not willing to sign new deal. Any thruth eds?

WikingRedNor

{Ed002's Note - Not that I am aware. Another English side interested in Roberto have recently spoken with Barcelona and they do not wish to sell, and the player's agent has said that it is only a matter of agreeing the financial package that it is keeping him from signing it.}

1.) 01 Dec 2017 14:50:11
Ok. Thank you for your quick reply mate! Hope your doing good and have a great weekend.

{Ed002's Note - Appreciate it and you.}

2.) 02 Dec 2017 05:12:56
Isn't Roberto another B2B midfielder? Makes no sense even if he is quality. I thought our targets were Goretzka and Meyer.

3.) 02 Dec 2017 10:00:27
According to sky utd in for goretzka, could be difficult.

4.) 02 Dec 2017 11:38:47
Roberto is a player who can play either defensive midfield or right back and is a fantastic player in both positions. I’d take him as part of the deal over any of the other dross that Barcelona have on their release list.

5.) 02 Dec 2017 18:43:02
Agree with Dennis.

Roberto is their best player after Messi and Suarez.

6.) 02 Dec 2017 21:24:30
Roberto at the base of our midfield with Keita and Wijnaldum/ Grujic would be pretty strong.

7.) 02 Dec 2017 23:35:52
Roberto is good, clever player and good with the ball, but he's not the their third best player mk - not sure on what grounds, iniesta is still better. Still would take him not that he'd leave.

Hi ed.

Could you please tell me if you know that we have had Jan Oblak scouted?
And where interest comes from besides Liverpool?

WikingRedNor

{Ed001's Note - lots of clubs have looked at him, but I am told he has made it clear he is not interested in a move this summer.}

1.) 22 May 2016 20:07:22
Ok. Thank you! :-)

Hi eds.

I was just wondering if we would look towards Paul Georges Ntep if Sterling leaves?

On a sidenote, could I bother you for your take on the player? If you have watched him, is he someone that would fit into our style?

Myself, i see a lot of Sturridge in him, quick, technical and shoots hard everytime no matter how far away from goal.
The negative is that i feel he always does the same as Sterling and Sturridge, running down towards the line, a couple of nice looking twist and turns and ALWAYS continues towards the line and passes the ball in 45degrees. Rarely they/he goes in towards the middle to try a shoot.

WikingRedNor

{Ed002's Note - Stade Rennais' Paul Georges Ntep has been of interest to Stoke, QPR, Bordeaux and Montpellier. Marseille, Liverpool, Saint-Étienne, Chelsea, Arsenal, Lille and Manchester City are known to have watched the player this season.  But only Stoke has made a firm offer. }

SUMMARY!!!!

Ings - every chance this will go through

Vietto - talking to Atletico Madrid regarding replacing Griezmann

Heung Min Son (I suspect it would be very difficult to make happen as he seems very happy where he is and will be playing in the Champions League)

Carlos Vela (looked at recently but nothing more)

Aubameyang (looked at and there may be interest from Liverpool - he is keen on a move to Italy but the most interested side, Juventus, are now out of the running)

Gameiro (his stock is on the rise but Liverpool have had no recent contact (according to a representative of another interested club))

Baez (an update from last night - Liverpool have been told to say if they are still interested in Baez or not - and if they are to make an offer which is much improved over that offered to Juventud previously as there is growing interest from other clubs and they need to make their mind up)

Kishna (all English interest has gone or never materialised according to De Boer)

Lacazette (another English side met with Lyon about Lacazette and a number of other issues on April 9 and any move this summer, particularly to England, is not viable right now)

Firmino (he will most probably move to another English side who have had discussions with his club and put a couple of offers on the table)
Depay (moving elsewhere)

Bakkali (interest will have gone)

Andre Ayew (a free agent who Liverpool enquired about last summer - no obvious interest right now but it may return)

Walcott (if Sterling were to leave then a move for Walcott may be considered)

Cheryshev (if Sterling were to leave then a move for Cheryshev may be considered)

I would not be surprised if Liverpool looked at Higuain if he became available at the right price. Jese may well be available on loan - perhaps he could be considered?

Begovic (There is interest in Begovic from elsewhere but not at this time from Liverpool.)

Alvarado Arbeloa (There is no interest right now, so no.)

Aleksandar Mitrović (Offers everything Liverpool are missing - There is interest in Anderlecht's Aleksandar Mitrović from Manchester United, Swansea, Dortmund, Newcastle and Eintracht Frankfurt. The interest of Leicester and Bayern Munich seems to have gone, but Arsenal may just look again at the player - depending on which direction they wish to go given their first choice as opted to moved elsewhere. The interest from Manchester United is recent and ramping up I am told. Newcastle are likely not an option.)

Christian Benteke (I am not sure, I know we had interest in the past, before his injuries, I really hope we don't but it wouldn't surprise me if we had interest in a player so unsuited to our play.)

Iker Casillas ( I would doubt it but Casillas might yet be an expensive option for Arsenal or Liverpool, but he is certainly very keen on a move to England. Real Madrid will offer him an extension if they cannot bring in the goalkeeper they desire.)

Matteo Darmian (Interest, but not from Liverpool.)

Kovacic (As for Kovacic as I explained last week, Piero Ausilio, Inter's Sporting Director who was just entering a restaurant to discuss the transfer of the player, told a Spanish journalist that Liverpool had made a "funny little joke" with a €10M offer.)

Arda Turan (Ahmet Bulut continues to whip things up, but this time he is correct that Arda Turan will very probably be available to move in the summer - however it will take a bid of around €40M for any sort of deal to happen - plus very significant wages and plus Champions League football. Atletico Madrid have twice rejected offers from Schalke but the only club that has shown any real interest at this time is Galatasaray, and the cost would be an issue. Don't rule out interest from Bayern Munich or Manchester United at some point. Bulut has spoken with a number of sides about the player - and there remains aslim chance that Atrsenal could turn to Arda. Atletico will negotiate as they need the money for the summer with bids for Cavani and Vietto coming)

Milner ( I really don't know what Milner wants but he will look to his options. Liverpool remain very keen although it would not be a surprise if his wage demands were an issue.)

Hernanes (A little bit of a wild card, but here goes. Talks with Barcelona over Kovacic have not really come to any useful conclusion and no one seems interested in putting any sort of acceptable offer on the table for him Inter need to sell a couple of midfield players to bring in the replacements they want - like Liverpool they are constrained by previous spending and the FFP rules. So, Inter now say they will keep Kovacic as no deal seems possible, and will make another player available - so I will throw the name of Brazilian Hernanes in to the ring as a player Liverpool might well consider. I appreciate that at 30 he is far from young, but he would be a very worthy free kick taking, goal scoring central midfield addition to the squad - and one to ably replace Gerrard. He is available and will be at a price that would suit Liverpool.)

Matthew Ryan (last I heard, despite his desperation to get a move to Liverpool, it was not happening.)

And here is where we do believe there is interest:

GK: Patricio, Ochoa, Neto, Sportiello (unconfirmed to some extent as Atalanta and the player heard about the interest from an Italian journalist), Romero, Ruddy. The club have also looked at many others.

RB: I am not sure what will happen to Wisdom. I suspect a new deal for Flanagan but if Manquillo and Johnson both leave then the club will look for a new RB. If Rodgers remains as manager it is not out of the question that Ibe may be tried in a wing back role. Alternative is that Manquillo stays and RB is no longer a priority.

LB: Sam Byram has been watched.

CB: A new deal has been offered to Toure and he will be considering his options. I doubt a CB is a priority - at least not before the club clear out some of those already on the books (Skrtel, Lovren, Sakho, Ilori, Coates, Paez, Lloyd Jones and Kolo Touré).

MF: I understand from an ex-German international that Liverpool have watched Lars Stindl on more than one occasion this season but he has decided to reject the interest of Liverpool and will move to Borussia Mönchengladbach in the summer.

How about if we got Ings,mitrovic and hernanes!

Would that be a good window?

3 good players and wouldn't cost a lot of money

2.) 15 May 2015 09:15:27
If I just could eds, an update regarding interest in
- Inigo Martinez?
- Petr Cech?
- Kasper Smeichel?
- Timo Horn?

Tried to find anything "new" when making the summary, but didn't find anything that would have satisfied the readers. ;-)

Have a great day every ed on here.

{Ed002's Note - No, there won't be anything new on these players.}

3.) 15 May 2015 13:28:25

Could I ask you eds, what Liverpool player do you expect to leave during the january window?

WikingRedNor

{Ed002's Note - Possibly Lucas.}

Hi ed.

I see that you mention that the high press has gone. Do you know the reasoning behind this? And do you believe that Klopp will go back to that style when the defence is solid and his own players? Cos I would love it to be back, absoloutly amazing to watch but with the right players ofcourse (defence)

WikingRedNor

{Ed001's Note - it was dropped because it was not working. It is now just an occasional press in games at certain moments. Opponents had figured ways round it, it only really works with teams that play short passing football like Pep's teams, who always struggle with a press. I doubt it will come back in the long term as the game evolves and what worked a year ago does not work in 5 year's time.}

1.) 26 Nov 2017 21:24:28
I understand and appreciate your answer ed.

{Ed001's Note - cheers mate. It is a shame as it is exciting, but teams are more direct, in the main, now, so the press has little effect on them.}

2.) 26 Nov 2017 23:11:06
I think once Lallana settles back into the team, we will see a bit more, but like the Ed says, its only best against some teams, or in certain moments in a game .

Hi eds.

Could I please trouble you with some numbers.
How is the clubs standings now in regards to debt and finances?

Rember you did a short walkthrou last year.

WikingRedNor

{Ed002's Note - We are not going to do anything more related to the finances WRN.}

1.) 11 Jul 2016 14:21:08
The club is standing using crutches made of loans.

2.) 11 Jul 2016 14:45:42
Mk, that's more or less my understanding aswell.
But in the middle of an discussion with a fellow red about our club.
Who better to ask avout recent numbers then the god himself, mr ed.

But I understand that you won't go into numbers. But I had to try. ;-)

23 May 2016 18:35:23
I see over and over again that ee sre linked with good players, great talents, young and exciting. But none of them have great pace, every club that has success (real, sevilla, leicester, dortmund, bayern. ) have winger, midfielders and/ or attackers with GREAT pace.

Why is it that we dont?

Even so, believe Klopp knows betyer then me what we need so.

Goodluck to you all in this window!

Ynwa.

1.) 23 May 2016 19:40:03
Sturridge origi and ings are quick lallana and couts acellerate quick ibe and ojo rapid.

2.) 23 May 2016 19:43:36
We have a slow team. I think Origi, Moreno, Sturridge and Ojo are quick. The rest are pretty slow.
Even the likes of Ibe, not much pace.

3.) 23 May 2016 19:53:50
I can agree that Sturridge and Origi is quick but they are not Salah, Aubemyang quick.
And Lallana and Couts isn't specially pacey in my view, they do have som quick twist and turns but not very pacey.

So why don't we go for a Cuadrado, Moura, Narsingh or maicon type player. With lots of pace that will tear apart defences or/ keep up with the pacey attacking players of our oppos.

The exciting players we are linked with so far are technical and smart players with not very much pace or strength.

But again, klopp knows best.

4.) 23 May 2016 19:55:23
DBol, the team we already have is one thing, but all the players we are linked with so far are pretty slow. And that I find strange, for a midfield already under par in the pace area.

5.) 23 May 2016 21:28:48
that's why markovic might be in klopps plans. If klopp can get him to play with confidence and not hesitation then he will be a great asset in our squad.

6.) 23 May 2016 21:36:53
Ibe has pace he just jogs too much.

7.) 23 May 2016 22:03:48
Pace alone isn't the defining factor, Sturridge is plenty quick when you consider what he can do with the ball. We need footballers first, pace is a bonus. Moreno is very quick but a defensive liability.

8.) 23 May 2016 22:24:25
Lallana is quick when pressing but slow on ball and holds up play too long.

9.) 23 May 2016 19:29:34
John Barnes the last player we had with exceptional pace.

10.) 24 May 2016 01:44:54
Origi is pretty damn fast.

11.) 24 May 2016 03:30:20
Weren't you watching when Owen was young, Harry? He was an absolute bullet. Pity for him that it was 50% of his game so when his legs went so did half his ability.

12.) 24 May 2016 08:11:53
Walcott has exceptional pace. Hows that working out for him?

13.) 24 May 2016 08:12:09
We should be alright I'm pretty sure pace is Klopps main criteria when signing a player, though I'm sure there was a degree of sarcasm/ jest in Eds post regarding this.

14.) 24 May 2016 08:20:31
Errr Djibril Cisse?

He was exceptionally fast but rubbish on the ball which proves LondonIrish Red's point. It's not just about pace, you need intelligence and technique too.

{Ed023's Note - If pace was all a player needed I'm sure Fergie would of signed Usain Bolt a few years back when he trained with them..}

28 Feb 2016 20:16:04
Hope Sturridge is ok, that his legs didn't get yet another setback.

WikingRedNor

09 Oct 2015 19:16:26
Why hasn't there been any press-release from the club about the staff Klopp brings with him?

WikingRedNor

1.) 09 Oct 2015 19:46:25
It's scheduled for right after the press conference about what Klopp had for dinner tonight.
According to "sources" it rumoured to be a pan of day old scouse and crusty bread as Klopp is trying really hard to learn local culture.

Ed, haven't been on for a while, that's why i have to ask. Maybe you guys have already answered it but can’t find it. What did Klopp do to Buvac? I mean, since you called it screwed with, it has to be something “nasty”?

And the game plan part I agree with. Don’t know why he does he subs like this but the good in me tells me it’s because of the quality on the bench or something like that. Hope it improves.

And the part about telling the chairman to talk like that is absolutely unheard of. That is not a good piece of manmanagment that.

Have a good one ed.

WikingRedNor

{Ed002's Note - His opinion was not being listened to. I did not mean that Klopp told the chairman to be such an ass - he managed that on his own.}
