That's one defeat in fifteen, with the performances getting better all the time. We were so unlucky not to win tonight, absolutely hammered Chelsea.

The new players are starting to look like Liverpool players, despite all the s**te they've had to deal with from certain sections of our fanbase. I love the way that Rodgers is attempting to win games, with pressure, passing and pace, unlike Mourinho's tactics which were, as usual, awful.

We've got a young progressive team, with a young progressive manager, give them both time and support and the sky's the limit. YNWA.

1.) People forget that our best striker and main goal threat is almost back from injury aswell.

No not Balotelli before the banter starts!

2.) Walton, this team and system has ALWAYS been there. It never left and the majority players who almost won us the league are the same that have gotten us playing great. The crap we have been is all down to BR and his unbelievable ego trip that got us playing awefully and questioning whether the BR we knew had been replaced by a clueless imposter because I know I was asking myself that very question. Just saying! Now, I give him credit for getting the boys ready to play the best game of their season and the boys gave their all on the field. Bravo to the coach and the boys!

3.) You can hammer all you want but if you don't score it means very little, history will still read 1-1.

4.) No sh***t!

5.) Chelsea defended really well.
Football is not just about attacking.
If we went to Barca in the CL and did what Chelsea did last night then we would all be happy this morning.
I am sure Mourinho is as well.
So is Rodgers in my opinion.
All set up for a humdinger of a second leg.

It'll be announced tomorrow that Sevie's leaving.

What an absolute star and legend of the club. He'll be remembered as one of the greatest to ever pull on a red shirt.

Thank's for all the memories, you were one of us, a local lad living the dream of representing this great club and city.

You'll Never Walk Alone.

I thought that he had already left!

Sad day, not the player he was but time catches up with all of us. A true legend and will be remembered as one of the best liverpool players ever.

Think the slip against Chelsea hurt him more than anyone and he doesn't seem to have recovered but still the best leader we have.

I fear for liverpool going forward, fear sterling may not sign his contract and things may get worse before better.

Thank you for the memories Stevie G.

3.) Will always be a legend, but he could see himself that he couldn't keep up and be the player that he was, I'm glad that Gerrard has made the decision rather than the decision made for him. I think he can no longer be an automatic starter and needs to be dropped to the bench.

Well done today lads, toughed it out at the end. Signs that the confidence is returning a little bit, especially in the second half. Little intricate pass and move, trying to get through a packed defence, could've had a couple more on another day.

The crowd really got behind Brendan and the team aswell today, good to hear and see. Ynwa boys.

AG, no worries mate, I never thought it personal. I agree, there are areas where Brendan can improve, no manager's perfect. But I really think that the positives of this guy far outway the negative, what he has done over the last 18 months has been nothing short of miraculous.

I fear that some of that is being forgotten and people are quick to forget how bad things were not so long ago.

I also think that the decent constructive criticism sometimes gets caught up in all the reactionary nonsense, then it all becomes a bit silly and counter productive.

Personally, I think we well over-achieved last season, due to various factors, and I think this year, when we find our feet, we'll hopefully get top four. I don't think the league is realistic this year (Cue Harry's balanced response). ;)

Essexred, grow the f*** up, name calling like a little schoolgirl, and it's not the first time either. It demeans any relevant, constructive criticism that you might occasionally post.

As for the Biesla love in, hardly anyone on here had even considered him until ED001 piped up about him, the same with wanting a DOF.

Jimmy, surely you're not suggesting that there's a large number of sheep on this site!

Derbyshire, Liverpool F.C. are the club that represents the city of Liverpool and it's people.

During the last few decades these people have been left to rot by numerous London centric establishment figures and parties.

Rightly or wrongly many associate the English national team with this. Hence the disinterest/dislike of the English national team.

It's also the reason, I feel, that there is such an affinity with our Celtic friends and neighbours.

{Ed007's Note - I'm still laughing at the 'remember the Olympics' part!!!}

Try the 'Fly in the loaf' on Hardman street, Tizer, mightn't be as packed as everywhere else.

Or there is a food section in 'Rigby's, away from the crowds, they'll have the game on. Both have great ale as well.

Most places will be heaving though, mate.

Thing is though RDL, there was a cabal of anti-Rodgers posters who weren't having a debate, they'd made their mind up and were just slagging him off every single day with the same old unconstructive nonsense.

Agree with dnlboy, I just stopped visiting the site on occassions as it was embarassing to read.

It's easy to support a winning team.
